Chapter 20 - The Three Sannin in Shock

Chapter 20 – The Three Sannin in Shock

"Benefits, huh? Then let me show you what real benefits look like!" Yusuke's voice boomed across the room. "There's nothing in this world more valuable than a life!"

Hatake Yusuke stood tall in the middle of the war council chamber, eyes blazing with fury.

"The First Hokage built this village for peace—to create a world where people could live in happiness. And yet you... you'd throw away the lives of your comrades for what? Political convenience?"

His words echoed sharply, cutting through the heavy silence like a blade.

"You've all been to war, haven't you? You of all people should understand how vital medical-nin are! A single untreated wound can cost someone their life. Or... do you just not care? Is death on the battlefield simply 'part of the plan' to you?"

No one responded. Not a single word. Even the civilian members present began to lower their heads. The boy's speech had struck something deep.

"Enough of this nonsense! What are you trying to pull, boy?!"

Shimura Danzo finally snapped, his tone dripping with suspicion.

But Yusuke ignored him.

"Father," he turned toward Sakumo, "What do you think of what I just said?"

Sakumo gave a calm smile. "I fully support you."

Gasps filled the chamber. Was the White Fang of Konoha openly opposing the elders?

"Hokage-sama... what about you?" Yusuke turned his gaze toward Hiruzen Sarutobi. Danzo's expression darkened.

"...You're right," Hiruzen sighed. "But the truth is, we don't have the funds to build such a facility at the moment."

Tsunade, standing just behind the Hokage, looked down in disappointment. Yusuke's words echoed in her heart. If someone like him had existed back then... maybe Nawaki wouldn't have died.

"I understand," Yusuke nodded slowly. Then, with firm resolve, he declared, "In that case, starting today, the Hatake Clan will fund the entire operation for Tsunade-sama's medical institute. And no one is to interfere with its internal management. Is that acceptable, Hokage-sama?"

Hiruzen's eyes narrowed.

"Are you... truly in a position to make such a decision?"

"The Hatake Clan fully supports Yusuke's decision," Sakumo said with absolute conviction.

Yusuke turned to Tsunade. "Tsunade-sama, will that be acceptable?"

She looked at him for a long moment... then smiled. "Of course. Thank you, Yusuke."

"No need for thanks. I have my own reasons."

"Then it's settled. This meeting is adjourned. Dismissed."

With that, Hiruzen brought the council to a close. Still, his heart stirred at the boy's passion. Danzo, however, kept a wary eye—something felt off, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

"Yusuke, stay behind for a moment," Hiruzen said.

"Understood, Hokage-sama."

"Danzo. Koharu. Homura. You may leave."

"But, Hiruzen, I—"

Bang!

Yusuke slammed his hand on the table, interrupting Danzo mid-sentence.

"Hey. Didn't you hear the Hokage's orders? What, you planning to ignore him?"

The mock-stern tone and raised brow made him sound just like the elders who usually backed Hiruzen.

"Hmph… You little brat. I won't forget this," Danzo muttered coldly.

Everyone still in the room tensed. This kid really had guts, going head-to-head with Danzo Shimura.

"Well... if I die mysteriously one day, we'll all know who did it, right, Hokage-sama?" Yusuke said with a mock sigh.

Hiruzen could only groan. "Enough. No more provoking each other."

Danzo scoffed and stormed out.

— — —

Now alone with Hiruzen, Yusuke sat in the Hokage's office.

"So, what did you want to talk about, Hokage-sama?"

"I'll get straight to the point," Hiruzen said. "I want to ask about your Kekkei Genkai. Would you be willing to show me?"

"No problem," Yusuke replied without hesitation.

"...Huh?"

He agreed that easily?! Hiruzen had prepared at least five persuasion strategies!

"Ahem... May I ask why you're suddenly willing to reveal it?"

"You mean, why now?" Yusuke raised an eyebrow, looking genuinely puzzled.

"Yes, that's what I meant."

"You just asked me, didn't you?"

"..."

Why am I suddenly at a loss for words?

"Don't tell me... you thought I was hiding it?" Yusuke narrowed his eyes slightly.

Hiruzen nodded slowly.

"I wasn't hiding it. It's just that... no one's ever been strong enough to make me use it."

Fair enough, Hiruzen thought.

"Can you show it to me?"

"Sure."

Yusuke raised his right hand and extended a finger, lightly tapping the air.

Cracks instantly spread through the space in front of him like a shattered mirror. The distortion rippled outward, small but clearly visible.

Hiruzen stared in silence, his expression grave. Even with that brief demonstration, he could feel it—a terrifyingly destructive force. This Kekkei Genkai was... dangerous.

— — —

Suddenly, the door burst open.

"Yusuke! We're here~!"

Tsunade entered first, followed by Jiraiya and Orochimaru.

"...Why are you here?" Hiruzen sighed.

"We're looking for the kid. Are you done questioning him?" Tsunade asked as she plopped onto the windowsill, clearly not planning to leave.

"Not yet."

"Hurry it up then. We've got questions too."

"...Fine. Yusuke, I'd like you to show us the technique you used on Koharu. Use your full power this time."

"Here?" Yusuke blinked.

He could control the power of the Gura Gura no Mi, but full power... in the Hokage's office?

"Yes. Give it your all."

"...Alright then."

Without hesitation, a tremendous force erupted from Yusuke's body. The air trembled like an invisible tsunami had hit the room.

The atmosphere grew thick and oppressive. The Hokage's wooden desk splintered and collapsed. The entire office began to crack apart.

Hiruzen had to actively reinforce himself with chakra just to stay upright. Even the Three Legendary Sannin had to focus to remain on their feet.

"That's enough!" Hiruzen called out. "This... This isn't Genjutsu. It's not ordinary chakra either... Not even the First Hokage could unleash something like this!"

"That's because it's not chakra," Yusuke replied. "It's called Haki."

"Haki?" Orochimaru repeated, eyes gleaming with curiosity.

"Yes. There are three types:

1. Haoshoku no Haki – Conqueror's Haki

2. Busoshoku no Haki – Armament Haki

3. Kenbunshoku no Haki – Observation Haki

What you just felt was Haoshoku Haki."

"There are two more types?" Hiruzen asked.

"That's right."

"Kid! That was amazing! Teach me! I'll trade you one of my jutsu for it!" Jiraiya offered, already daydreaming about impressing ladies with this mysterious new power.

"Unfortunately... you can't learn it," Yusuke said bluntly.

"What?! You're not gonna teach me? Stingy brat!" Jiraiya pouted.

Smack!

Tsunade slammed her fist into his head.

"Ow ow ow—!!"

Yusuke instinctively broke into a cold sweat.

"Please, continue, Yusuke-kun," Orochimaru said politely. Unlike the others, his interest was scholarly and respectful.

"Haoshoku Haki can't be taught. It can't be inherited either. It only awakens in those born with the Will of a King."

"The... Will of a King?" Hiruzen muttered.

"What about the other two types?" Orochimaru pressed.

"To be honest... I'm not entirely sure how they awaken. My situation was kind of unique."

"Can you show us?" Orochimaru asked.

"Sure."

Yusuke raised both hands. In an instant, they turned pitch black and glossy—Busoshoku no Haki.

"This hardens the body, like an invisible armor. It also boosts attack power significantly," Yusuke explained.

"In that case... can you teach me? I'll trade you my Chakra Enhanced Strength technique! It's perfect for someone like me!" Tsunade asked with gleaming eyes.

"Well... that depends on your talent," Yusuke replied, scratching his cheek.

"You said it boosts attack power?" Jiraiya asked, intrigued.

"Yep. Jiraiya-sama, may I demonstrate?"

"Go for it!" he said, puffing his chest.

Yusuke gave him a standard punch using his bare hand. There was a loud thud, but Jiraiya remained standing. Still, he noticed a faint numbness in his palm.

"Now I'll use full power."

This time, Yusuke's fist was coated with Haki.

He slammed it straight into Jiraiya's chest.

"Whoa—Earth Release: Earth Spear! (Domu)"

Jiraiya's body instantly hardened, but even then, the impact sent him flying backward into a wall.
