"Boss… are we really releasing a new game this soon?"
"Is it the same type of game as Honkai Impact 3rd?"
"The art style looks so similar to Honkai 3rd~ And it's got Dragon Nation elements too."
At Himeko's remark, Mo Li snapped his fingers.
"Dragon Nation elements? That's just the start~"
"In Genshin Impact, I've designed seven nations, each corresponding to one of the seven great powers of Blue Star."
"For example, Liyue represents Dragon Nation. And as for Inazuma…" Mo Li raised his brows at Yae Miko.
"That one corresponds to Sakura Nation~"
"And… is the gameplay still like Honkai 3rd?"
Mo Li shook his head.
"Of course not. But in my vision, both games exist under the same overarching world."
He then gave a brief rundown of the shared worldbuilding between Honkai 3rd and Genshin Impact.
It was mostly for Yae Miko and Kamisato Ayaka's sake—the rest of the girls already knew Honkai's lore inside and out.
"So you mean… the two games might actually cross over in the future?"
Mo Li nodded.
"Smart as ever, Bronya. I'm planning to slip some Genshin elements into the next Honkai event."
"In other words, we'll do a collaboration first—treat it as warming up the audience for Genshin Impact."
But the moment he said it, Bronya quickly raised a concern.
"Boss… right now Genshin is still only your initial concept, right? If we leak gameplay early, other companies might copy or plagiarize it. What if—"
Before she could finish, Mo Li cut her off with a laugh.
"Don't worry. It's just a crossover event. The gameplay will still be centered on Honkai. We can tease Genshin here and there, but the core mechanics won't be revealed."
Hearing that, the girls finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"Then… what exactly isGenshin's gameplay?"
They had been dying to know.
Right now, nearly every game in the world followed the same formula: level up, grind monsters, PVP. It felt like the industry had run into a wall—innovation was rare.
The arrival of Honkai 3rd had already left them astonished.
And now, barely any time later, Mo Li was saying he'd developed yet another new game!
How could they not be shocked?
"Heh~"
Mo Li smiled with confidence, closed the video, and opened another file on his computer.
"The gameplay and main selling point of Genshin Impact can be summed up in one line…"
"Open-world, free exploration, and combat puzzles!"
As he spoke, animated images flashed across the projector.
Ying fighting hilichurls with a one-handed sword. Solving puzzles to open a treasure chest. Swimming, climbing, mining, gathering…
The beautiful visuals and fresh gameplay ideas left the girls utterly astounded.
On Earth, none of these mechanics were particularly new. At best, it was just those features wrapped in an anime aesthetic.
But in this barren gaming world, the freedom of an explorable open world was simply jaw-dropping.
Absolutely breathtaking!
Every scene Mo Li showed was painted against gorgeous backdrops—
Mondstadt's Windrise and Lake Apple.
Liyue's Qingce Village and Dihua Marsh.
Inazuma's Grand Narukami Shrine and Chinju Forest.
Sumeru's deserts and rainforests…
Players could enjoy combat, then pause to admire the scenery from any angle. And while exploring those landscapes, they might stumble across unexpected treasure chests…
"Genshin's open world can be broken down into three main pillars," Mo Li explained, while flipping through more images.
"Exploration and adventure, focused on finding chests.
PVE dungeons, centered on domains.
And, of course, character progression."
"On top of that, there are plenty of life-simulation elements."
"And we can't forget… character gacha."
"In Genshin, players take on the role of a Traveler—someone from another world…"
The more he spoke, the more the girls' excitement grew.
Just listening to Mo Li's description had completely hooked them—they were itching to try it for themselves.
Bronya's eyes gleamed.
"Boss, those images… don't tell me—"
Mo Li smiled knowingly, then nodded.
"The game is already finished."
That sentence nearly made the girls jump out of their seats.
After spending so much time with him, they no longer doubted him like they once did.
Now, they were only thrilled, chattering excitedly as they crowded around.
Even Bronya couldn't hold back.
"Boss… can we try it out? That way… maybe we can even… give you some feedback."
She sounded hesitant, but the truth was simple—Bronya just wanted to play. Gamer instincts.
Himeko stared at Mo Li in awe.
"I'm honestly amazed… Boss, how do you keep coming up with so many new ideas?"
Even Ganyu's cheeks flushed red.
"Boss, when do you plan to launch Genshin Impact?"
…
As newcomers, Yae Miko and Kamisato Ayaka didn't join in the chatter. But the gleam in their eyes said everything—
They were just as intrigued.
"Girls… calm down a little…"
Mo Li hadn't expected them to be this excited.
"Of course I'll let you try it for yourselves when the time comes. But first, there's something else I need to tell you."
He closed his laptop and grew serious.
"Lately, there have been more and more people staking out near the studio…"
At that, the girls exchanged troubled looks.
But before they could worry further, Mo Li smiled reassuringly.
"Don't worry. I've already arranged a solution."
"The new workplace is ready—completely secure and hidden. Fully equipped, with luxury dorms, and even an AI system."
"Of course, if you'd rather not live on-site, you can still go home. But…"
He grinned mysteriously.
"I promise you this—once you move in, you'll never want to leave."
