When the classroom emptied, Hao slowly walked to the teacher's desk.
Mr. Huang looked up."Hao, can I ask… is something wrong? First day of class and you keep staring off."
Hao forced a small smile."Maybe I don't feel well this morning. But it's fine."(His answer sounded too grown-up, like an office worker doing PR.)
Mr. Huang hesitated."Alright. If anything happens, tell me. Go eat."
"Thank you, teacher."Hao turned and left for the cafeteria.
He bought some food and scanned the tables.Weihao and Kang Hui waved at him.He walked over and sat down.
"Teacher called you for what?" Kang Hui asked.
Hao smirked."Nothing. Maybe because I'm too handsome."
Both Weihao and Kang Hui rolled their eyes at the same time.
Kang Hui leaned closer."This afternoon Hao and I go playground. You come, Weihao?"
Weihao thought for a second."Should be okay."
"Alright," Hao said. "Five o'clock at the playground."
After lunch the three of them strolled to the pavilion near the basketball court.
They found a spot and sat down.Hao asked,"By the way, Weihao, who's your class teacher?"
Weihao sighed."Don't even say. It's the legend — the Witch. First day she's testing our scores."
Kang Hui and Hao laughed at his misery."Price of being too smart," they teased.
Weihao shook his head."You two don't understand the pain of a genius."
For a moment, silence."Hey!" Weihao waved his hands. "Give me some reaction."
Two voices at the same time:"Nope…"
Hao stood up."Almost time for class. Let's go."
They went back to the classroom. Most students were already there. The teacher came in.
"Alright everyone, class begins."
