The sun filtered through the large windows of the art gallery turned temporary boutique, casting a warm glow over the racks of clothing and the buzz of eager visitors. Talia stood by her little corner display, smoothing out a bright, hand-painted jacket, her heart pounding with a mix of excitement and nerves.
"This is it, Talia! Your designs out in the wild!" Mia clapped her hands, eyes sparkling as she flitted around, chatting with visitors and making sure Talia's signature sassy flair was on full display. "Look at you, big-time fashion boss."
Talia rolled her eyes but couldn't hide her grin. "Big-time? I'm still working the same two gigs I had last month, ma."
Mia snorted. "Small steps, queen. Small steps."
