"Holy crap, a Demon God Pillar?" Mo Wang stared at the black pillar in the distance, a strange feeling creeping over him.
Normally, having one Demon God Pillar in a singularity was a big deal. The fact that the first singularity's Demon God Pillar was supposed to be Mozart, but he had fallen in love with Marie and abandoned his post, was already a weird enough plot twist.
But now, another one had just popped up. Had Goetia finally realized Mozart was useless and found a replacement?
"Jeanne! Jeanne! Jeanne!"
Hearing the Demon God Pillar chant Jeanne's name, Mo Wang didn't even need to guess who it was. "The new Demon God Pillar is the Marshal? Another lovesick fool? Is being lovesick a prerequisite for this job?" he muttered.
"Is that... Gilles? What happened to him?" Jeanne, who had just dragged Jalter out of the dungeon, recognized him instantly. She looked at Jalter, bewildered.
"Don't look at me! I have no idea what he's doing!" Jalter snapped.
"Maybe you should ask the other Gilles?"
"Doctor, what is that?" Mash asked, her voice trembling.
In Chaldea, Romani stared at the screen, his face pale with sweat. He knew exactly what it was. In fact, he knew more about it than anyone else in the world. But he couldn't say a word. He couldn't just tell Mash that he had created it.
"Jeanne! Where are you?!" The Marshal, now a Demon God Pillar, had lost all reason. Crimson beams of light shot from his many eyes, raining down on the city.
BOOM—!
Mo Wang teleported into the air and created a golden, translucent barrier, blocking the attack. "This boss fight is a little sudden, don't you think?" he said to the stunned crowd below. "Couldn't we at least get a little backstory?"
The Demon God Pillar shrieked, its hundreds of eyes focusing on him.
"Green Layer!" Mo Wang snapped his fingers, and the green mecha appeared. The Magma Layer and Blue Layer followed.
"Wait! Not this again!" Cu Chulainn turned to run, but the Blue Layer had already locked onto him and sucked him into the cockpit.
"Damn it! Why me again—!" his scream was cut off as the hatch closed.
Archer, on the other hand, just sighed. "At least it's better than being swallowed by a whale..." he muttered as the Magma Layer engulfed him.
"Super Quantum Combination! Great Magnus!"
The three mechas merged into a hundred-meter-tall robot.
"Next time, can you give us a little warning?!" Cu Chulainn groaned from inside.
"Shut up! A combination has to be fast! Just grit your teeth and bear it!" Mo Wang snapped back.
The Demon God Pillar's hundreds of eyes glowed with a dark purple energy. "Jeanne—!" it shrieked, and a devastating beam of light shot towards Great Magnus.
"Shields at full power!" Mo Wang yelled, and a hexagonal energy field appeared in front of the mecha, blocking the attack.
"This thing's even stronger than last time!" Cu Chulainn yelled. "Are you sure this thing can take it?!"
"Shut up and hold on! Archer, prepare the port-side cannon!"
"Understood," Archer replied calmly. "Tempest Dragon Howitzer, charged and ready."
A giant cannon, wreathed in wind and lightning, emerged from Great Magnus's left arm and fired a jade-green beam, hitting the Demon God Pillar's central eye.
The pillar shrieked in pain, but the wound healed almost instantly, and its presence grew even more menacing.
"Damn it, its regeneration is three times faster than expected," Archer said.
"Then let's try something unconventional!" Mo Wang said, and a massive, flaming sword emerged from Great Magnus's back. "Super Quantal Mech Sword - Magnaslayer, activate!"
"Now that's more like it!" Cu Chulainn whistled.
"Too slow!" Mo Wang roared, and Great Magnus charged forward, the massive sword leaving a trail of fire in its wake. "Bisect! Magnaslayer!!"
The flaming sword sliced through the Demon God Pillar, and the pillar was engulfed in a sea of fire.
"Well, that's that," Mo Wang said, looking at the burning pillar. "By the way, did we ever find out which Demon God this was?"
"My lord, it seems Berith was no match for him," Lev said, looking at the burning pillar. "That robot... it is not of this world."
"The one who will bring Nihility to this world... if he could not even defeat Berith, then there would be a real problem," Goetia said. "But this is not yet enough to test his true power. Flauros, you go as well."
"Strange, I have a feeling this isn't over yet," Mo Wang said, and just as he spoke, the burning pillar regenerated, its hundreds of eyes firing a barrage of beams.
BOOM!
Great Magnus's sword was blown out of its hands.
"What the?! It regenerated?! Not even being cut in half can kill it?!" Cu Chulainn yelled.
"No, this isn't regeneration... it's resurrection," Mo Wang said, his eyes scanning the area. He saw Goetia and Lev standing in a nearby castle. The final boss is here already? In the first singularity?
Before he could even process this, Lev transformed into another Demon God Pillar. Two of them? In the first singularity? What's next? A Lostbelt King in the second chapter?
The two Demon God Pillars unleashed a torrent of beams, overwhelming Great Magnus's shields.
"What is this monster?!" Jeanne cried out as the beams rained down on the city, the sound of screams filling the air.
Jalter watched the destruction, and for the first time, she felt a flicker of anger, not at France, but at the ones who were harming it.
"Hey! Are you just going to stand there and watch?!" Jeanne's voice snapped her out of her stupor. "You said you were Jeanne, didn't you? Fake or real, if you're going to use that name, then get up and fight!"
"Hey! Master, our shields are almost gone! What do we do now?!" Cu Chulainn yelled.
"It seems I have no choice. I was saving this for later," Mo Wang said.
"What is it?"
"Jeanne, get ready to fight! We're going in together!"
"Huh? Wait, Master, what do you mean?!" Jeanne cried out from the city below.
"No time to explain! Come forth! Super Quantum Mecha Beast Shining Tyrannosaurus!"
A gleaming white T-Rex mecha appeared and swallowed Jeanne whole.
"Huh?! Eeeeeh?!" Everyone stared in disbelief.
"Combine! True Super Quantal Mech King! Great Magnus, Shining!!!"
Great Magnus split apart, and the four mechas merged into a new, even more magnificent giant robot, bathed in a brilliant, shining light.
