Chapter 5 - The Queen of the Bed

Blam! The door slammed open.

And there she was—standing in the doorway, arms crossed, smug grin plastered across her face like she'd just caught me committing a crime.

I immediately shoved my phone under the pillow and turned to face her, trying to act like nothing was going on.

"The fuck you want again, Aizi?" I said, my voice laced with annoyance.

"Nothing, brother!" she shot back with exaggerated sweetness, stepping inside like she owned the place. Her eyes darted around, scanning every corner like some third-rate detective.

She stopped at the edge of my bed, leaned forward, and whispered, dragging the word out:

"Sooo… brother."

"What?" I grumbled.

She smirked, lowering herself until her shadow loomed over me. "You're acting suuuper suspicious, you know. Hiding something from me, aren't you?" Her gaze flicked toward the pillow I'd just stuffed my phone under.

I clicked my tongue. "It's called privacy. Maybe try it sometime."

"Privacy?" She burst out laughing. "With me? Don't make me laugh." She pounced onto the bed without warning, landing right next to me and bouncing the mattress. "C'mon, confess! Who were you texting? A girl? Don't tell me my useless brother actually tricked someone into liking him!"

"Shut up, Aizi." My words came out sharp, but she only leaned closer, smirk widening.

"Ohhh, jackpot. It is a girl!" she gasped dramatically, clasping her cheeks. "Tell me—what's her name? Is she blind? Or maybe she's doing community service? Oh! Oh! Maybe she thought you were a stray dog and decided to feed you out of pity?"

I groaned, dragging a hand down my face. "Why are you like this?"

"Because watching you squirm is hilarious," she sang, reaching for my pillow.

I snatched her wrist before she could grab it. "Don't. Even. Think about it."

Her eyes sparkled like a kid unwrapping candy. "Ohhh, protective, huh? That means it's important. Which means…" She leaned in, whispering smugly, "It's definitely that girl you were walking with after school."

"So what if it is?" I snapped, forcing confidence I didn't feel. "It's none of your business."

"Wrong!" She jabbed my forehead with her finger. "It's totally my business. I'm your sister, and sisters are entitled to this information. That's, like, an unbreakable law of the universe."

I pinched the bridge of my nose. "That's the dumbest logic I've ever heard."

"Correction." She wagged her finger in my face. "It's sister logic. The strongest logic. Can't be beaten. Can't be questioned. Nice try though, nii-chan."

I squinted at her. "Since when did you start caring about my love life?"

Her smirk faltered for half a second. She tilted her head, voice dipping to a quieter, almost pouty tone.

"D-do you… not like me as your little sister, nii-chan?"

I deadpanned. "Stop acting like that. It's creepy."

She gasped like I'd stabbed her. "C-creepy?! How cruel! I bare my innocent sisterly love and you stomp it into the dirt?!"

I sighed, rubbing my temples. "Innocent love? You've been nothing but a pain in the ass since the day you learned how to talk."

"You're hurting me…" she whimpered dramatically, then instantly flipped back to smug, "but you'll never get rid of me that easily."

Before I could react, she yanked the blanket out of my hands and wrapped herself up in it, clinging like a smug parasite.

"Then I won't leave until you tell me!" she declared, bratty pout plastered on her face.

"Seriously? What are you, five?" I muttered, trying to tug the blanket back.

"Age doesn't matter, nii-chan." She kicked her feet against the bed, refusing to budge. "I could be five, fifteen, or fifty—you'll still be my useless brother who hides secrets from me."

I groaned, pushing at her shoulder. "Get off, I'm trying to sleep!"

She clung tighter, grinning ear to ear. "Liar. You were smiling at your phone a second ago—I saw it. Don't even try to deny it!"

She tugged the blanket tighter around herself like it was armor, grinning smugly.

"Face it, nii-chan. I've officially declared squatters' rights on your bed. You can't kick me out."

I glared at her. "This isn't a negotiation. Get. Out."

"Nope!" she said cheerfully, popping the 'p.' "You're hiding something juicy and I'm not going anywhere until I find out. So either spill it… or watch me make your life miserable."

I groaned. "You already are making my life miserable."

"Then I'm doing a great job!" she chirped, kicking her legs like a child on a sugar high. She suddenly grabbed my pillow and hugged it to her chest. "This is mine now. I'm confiscating it until you confess."

"Give that back."

"Nooope," she sang, squeezing it tighter. "Unless you trade it for the name of your mysterious girlfriend."

"She's not my girlfriend."

"Ohhh, so what is it then? A gerlll friend?" she said immediately, eyes glittering with triumph. "Thank you for confirming, nii-chan."

I wanted to strangle her. "That's not what I—ugh, forget it. Just get out already!"

Instead of leaving, she flopped down across the bed horizontally, spreading her arms and legs like a starfish. "Nope. This is my room now. You can leave if you don't like it."

"You're unbelievable."

"I prefer unstoppable," she corrected smugly, rolling onto her side to look me dead in the eye. "So? What's her name? Hm? Hm? Hmmmm?"

I shoved at her shoulder. "Move."

She shoved back. "No, you move."

I clenched my teeth. "Aizi—"

"—Yes, nii-chan?" she cut in sweetly, batting her lashes like an angel, though the devilish smirk ruined the act.

"I'm serious."

"So am I." She leaned in until her face was barely inches from mine, voice dropping into a smug whisper. "I'm not leaving until you tell me."

I stared at her, flat and unamused. "…You're insane."

She grinned wider. "Insanely cute and dedicated, yes." Then, as if to prove her point, she pulled the blanket completely over her head and cocooned herself. Her muffled voice came out smug as ever.

"Fine. If you want to play that game, then I'll sleep on the couch tonight," I said, firm, threatening—though mostly just exhausted.

Under the blanket, I heard her muffled gasp. Then, her head popped out like a smug little turtle.

"Ohhh, nii-chan, so dramatic." She smirked. "Running away? From me? That's basically admitting you've got something to hide."

"It's called avoiding insanity," I muttered, standing up.

She sat up too, still cocooned in the blanket like some bratty burrito. "Nope. Not happening. You're not going anywhere."

"Watch me."

"Oh, I will." She scooted closer to the edge of the bed, blocking my path with her body like she was guarding a national treasure. "If you step out that door, nii-chan, I'll—" she paused dramatically, finger on her chin, "—drink all your strawberry milk."

I blinked. "That's yours."

She shrugged innocently. "Details, details. The point is—I'll make you suffer."

"You already do."

She grinned, wicked and satisfied. "Good. Then I'm consistent."

I rubbed my temples. "Why are you so desperate to know, anyway? It's none of your business."

Her smug expression faltered just a hair, her eyes flicking away before snapping back with twice the bratty energy.

"Desperate? Please. I'm just… making sure my useless brother isn't isn't scamming some random girl. I mean, let's be honest—what kind of sane woman would choose you?"

I narrowed my eyes. "Wow. Thanks for the vote of confidence."

Then she suddenly shoved me backward onto the bed, straddling my hips and using all her weight to pin me down.

"Aizi—what the hell?!" I barked, thrashing beneath her, but she sat there smugly like she'd just won a wrestling championship.

Her grin was pure evil. "Checkmate, nii-chan. You're not going anywhere."

"You know I can easily out strength you right?." I tried to push her off, but she tightened her grip on the blanket wrapped around her like some twisted royal robe, rocking back slightly to throw me off balance.

"Not so easily, I'm the queen of the bed!" She said proudly and confident with sarcastic.

"that's not a very smart words to use Aizi.." I said lowering my tone, she still pinning me down with all of her strength and weight

"Get off, or something bad's gonna happen," I warned, raising my voice with sharp annoyance.

She leaned closer, grin turning wicked. "Or what? You'll get a boner?"

My brain flatlined.

What the hell is this girl even saying—

"Like I would!" I snapped, face heating despite myself.
