Chapter 41 - Community healing. (Final Part)

The cops came and took the wife-beater away, as a friend of Dinah had come and taken the woman to get stuff from her home before going to Dinah's apartment. Before she left, she ran up to me. "Can I have your number, please. I want to thank you." She said, and I nodded, giving her my number as she smiled gently at the phone before leaving with Dinah's friend.

"Shall we get back to work, Dr. Johnson?" I said, looking at him as he nodded. We started our rounds once more, taking care of those who had to stay at the Hospital. We finished them after another two hours when the ER called. Tell Dr. Johnson that burn victims from an apartment building had started to come in.

We made our way to the ER, where it was in chaos as some had flat-lined. "How long have these people been flat-lined?" I quickly asked. "These two have been flat-lining for two minutes." A nurse said, as I placed my hands on them quickly and healed them, bringing them back as I moved onto the next one that had flat-lined, bringing them back." But more kept flat-lining as I healed the last one, trying to keep up with them as I healed them.

Over fifty people had been brought in, and ten of them had flat-lined during the whole thing, but none of the others did, making me breathe a sigh of relief as we finished healing them. All of them looked at me with shock as I began to heal others in the ER while I was at it. They were grateful as I smiled, knowing I would be earning a lot today, and I waved it off, telling them they didn't need to thank me.

I stopped healing in the Hospital at about six pm, sitting in a chair, breathing a sigh, as it had been hectic today as I pulled up the system and smiled.

(Host has brought back to life 11 innocents, earning 11,000 Good Act Skill points and earning $1,100,000. The host had healed over 750 people, 18,750 Good Act Skill points, and earned $1,875,000.)

My god, did I make a killing today! I screamed inside my head as I leaned back, and Dr. Johnson handed me a drink. "Good work out there, Chad." He said he was grateful for all the people I had healed, making me smile. "I have the power to heal. Why wouldn't I use it?" I said as he pulled out a checkbook, making me stop him.

"You don't need to pay me, I didn't do this for the money. I am sure Dr. Williams told you that I refused her payment. I couldn't let this Hospital, which is struggling to keep people alive, have to pay for my powers. I won't be able to come here that often, I lend a hand when I can, as I have other Hospitals also." I said.

I get paid more than enough to earn a living. There's no point in taking the people's money this way. They will still have jobs and take care of more minor injuries that don't need my touch.

"Well, if that's what you want. But can I call you in case of emergencies that need your help?" He asked, making me think for a moment before speaking. "Only if it's a child or something with many people involved. I can't save everyone, so I need to choose who I can help. As I work with the league, I have my missions. So I may not be able to make it." I said, meaning that I can't be at places all the time, and a call while I am on a mission would be hard for me to make.

He nodded in understanding as I stood up and shook his hand. "It was a pleasure working with you today, Dr. Johnson," I said as he smiled and shook it as I walked towards the exit, and got a call from a number I didn't know. I answered it, and a woman's voice came over.

"Hmm, this is Willow Morgan. You saved me from my husband." She said, making me remember the woman. "What can I do for you, Willow?" I said before she spoke again.

"I wanted to know if you can come over. I had made dinner and wanted to repay you for helping me escape him." She said, making me smile. "Okay, I can be there in a minute," I said, making her speak up. "Can you give me thirty minutes to finish preparing?" She quickly said, making me chuckle a little.

"Okay, I will text you when I am close," I said before we hung up, and I called a taxi. I was going to teleport there, but I guess I can take my time getting there. The cab showed up fifteen minutes later, and I got inside as I pulled up the internet on my watch and looked for a car dealership close to the Clock Tower, as I made up my mind to get a car.

It took another thirty minutes to get there, and I texted her that I would be there soon, as traffic was horrible. She replied with an "Okay. ;)" Making me smile, if this helps her feel better, then it's worth everything as the taxi pulled up and I paid for it. Stepping out, I made my way to the apartment and knocked on the door.

The door opened, and Willow stood there in a tight dress that hugged her body. She had curves to her, and her chest was the biggest I have run into, making me gulp as she smiled gently at me. "Please, come in." She said, I could tell she was happy.

I walked inside, and candles were lit inside the hallway; only an anime MC couldn't tell what was going on right now. She was courting me, and this was a first since I came to this world. I followed behind her as I watched her ample backside sway as she looked over her shoulder and smiled.

Inside Willow's mind, she was happy; it had been a long time since someone looked at her like that. Her husband used to, but now he never does, so this young handsome man was lusting after her, which made her feel like a woman. She desired just for tonight, if possible, to be loved; she wouldn't ask of him more than that. Willow just wanted a moment of happiness in the life that turned to pain.

Little did she know that the man she wanted for the night would ever let her go, and she would drown in the love she was craving for the rest of her life.

"Have a seat, Chad." She said, guiding me to the table that had food and wine on it with candles as I sat down, and she took a seat next to me. "I hope you enjoy it." She said nervously, making me smile gently. "It smells amazing, so I know it's going to taste just as good," I said, picking up my fork and knife.

Cutting part of the steak and eating it made me smile. "It's perfect, the best steak I have ever had. Thank you, Willow." I said this brought joy to her face as she spoke. "Let me pour you some wine." She said, grabbing the bottle and opening it as she poured me some, along with some for herself.

"I toast to meeting new people," I said to her as she raised her glass and we tapped them together.
