Chapter 40 - Community healing. (Part 2)

Walking into the Hospital, I looked at the packed room and walked to the front desk. "Hello, Dr. Williams wanted me to get in contact with Dr. Johnson," I said, making the overworked woman look up at me before speaking. "Can I have your name?" She said, making me smile. "Sorry about that, it's Chad Jones," I said, making her look at a list and nod.

She picked up the phone and pressed a button. "Dr. Johnson, a Chad Jones is here to meet you." She said before speaking. "You can take a seat." She said as I placed a hand on her head and healed her, shocking her as her body that was hurting stopped.

"You looked like you were in pain. I wanted to help you out. Sorry if I overstepped my boundaries." I said, making her look at me before waving it off. "Don't worry about it, and thank you. I feel much better." She said with a smile.

I found a seat next to a little girl crying as her knee was bleeding. She looked at me sadly as I smiled and patted her head, making her knee heal, and she stopped crying. "Mister, you made my knee not hurt anymore." She said, shocked, and giggled. "You don't have to cry anymore," I said, smiling as my name was called. "Mommy, Mister healed my knee." The little girl told her mother.

Making her mother look at her knee, it had been skinned down to the bone, but now it was all healed. She looked up at me and smiled before thanking me as I waved to the little girl and walked over to the man who called my name.

"Mr. Jones, it's a pleasure to meet you. I thought you would have visited the other Hospitals first." He said. His first thought when he got the call was that this healer would have focused on the wealthier areas first while his people suffered. So when he got the call just now, he thought it was a joke until he noticed him healing the girl.

"I have a list of the most dire people that need healing right now." Dr. Johnson said, handing me the list as I nodded. "Guide me to the people, I will heal them," I said, making him smile as he led the way towards the first one. I quickly upgraded my Holy Light.

(Host Holy Light has been upgraded to the max level. It can now heal any disease or injury and can bring someone back to life within three minutes of their death. It doesn't cost Energy to use anymore.)

Well, I didn't know there was a max level. But, good thing it doesn't cost any more Energy to use, making it easier for me to use now. We entered the children's ward, heading to a room sealed off with a girl lying on the bed with tubes and connected to equipment. "This is a child who is on the edge of death, please heal her." He said, looking at the girl with sadness.

The equipment started to beep as she flat-lined. "NURSES!" He yelled out as he quickly ran into the room, and I followed behind him. "Remove the tube in her throat," I said, making him stop. "Do it, if you want me to save her," I said as he grit his teeth, removing the tube from her throat as the nurses ran in.

Placing my hand onto her, the room filled with light as a woman and a man ran into the room crying as it slowly dimmed back to normal. And the sound of beeping started once more, everyone froze as the girl's eyes slowly opened. "Mommy, Daddy?" She spoke as she looked at the two, and they cried, running to her and hugging her.

"What did you do? She was dead." Dr. Johnson said as the nurses stood by him, and I smiled. "I brought her back from death and healed her sickness; it's that simple. Nothing complex about it." I said, looking at the girl crying as she hugged her family. You know, I like doing some bad things. But it's times like this I like having the Good Acts more than the Evil Acts, I thought to myself.

If my powers can help children live, then I would give up the Evil part without a second thought. "Thank you." The father said, pulling me into a hug, which shocked me as I patted his back. "If you want to thank me, then make sure she enjoys her life and lives a happy life," I said, making him pull back and nod. "Please have drinks with me later." He said.

"I don't know how long I will be working," I said, making him smile and nod before handing me a card. It looks like he works for a talent agency. "Call me when you have time, please." He said, re-joining his family. "Dr. Johnson, please guide me to the next one," I said, making the Doctor snap out of his thoughts, and he nodded.

Dr. Johnson guided me to the list of people who need it the most as we quickly healed them. This was faster than my last time healing, as I didn't run out of Energy. By the time lunch had come around, I had already healed the ones who needed the most and a hundred more, totaling over four hundred people.

The Hospital was in an uproar as the mood improved, and families rejoiced as the ones they loved weren't going to die. This made me happy to have another life in this world, as the nurses even started to hit on me out of respect and desire to get to know me. I have over a hundred numbers just in the five hours of work. They do say women like a caring man.

I sat eating my lunch as a woman crying, holding a baby, was being hit by a man. This made me lose my desire to eat as I stood up. "BITCH, YOU DON'T NEED TO SEE A DOCTOR! I ONLY HIT YOU A LITTLE, YOU'RE FINE!" The man yelled out because the nurses were too scared to step in, given his size.

Making a small tree root break out of the ground and wrap around the man as he was about to hit the woman once more. "Do you have any Honor as a man? Hitting a woman and the mother of your child as she holds your baby. You have to be the most pathetic man I have ever had the displeasure of laying my eyes on." I said, walking towards the woman who was holding her baby tightly.

She looked up at me with tears in her eyes, with a black eye. Kneeling, I placed my hand on her cheek as she shook in fear as I spoke. "Don't worry, I will heal your wounds," I said as the black eye and bruises went away. "You don't have to worry, I will help you," I said, calling Yasmin and explaining what was going on.

She told me that she would come over right away, then I called Dinah, asking her to help me relocate the woman so the man wouldn't be able to find her. Not that he will live past tonight, I wanted to kill him right now. But I couldn't kill him in front of her or the nurses. Dinah said she would send someone to bring her to her apartment for now.

"You are lucky this is a land of laws, because the things I would do to you right now would make the devil clap in amazement," I said, looking at the man who was screaming and cursing as the roots held him.
