Fubuki: "Where'd you disappear to? You've been quiet."
Lazy Angel: "Uh… got caught up in something."
Gabriel looked a little embarrassed. No way she could admit she'd been rolling around clutching her toe for several minutes.Even now, her big toe was swollen and throbbing.
If she weren't an angel, she'd probably be calling an ambulance right about now.
[Group Notice]: Member 'Shepherd' has checked in and received 5 points.
Lazy Angel: "Seriously? I come back and see something this depressing?"
Saeko: "Another five points? Looks like Mr. Rosen's lucky today."
Shepherd: "Guess I'll see what the day brings."
Fubuki: "That's it, I'm logging off. Lottery loss and check-in loss. Beauty sleep time—goodnight, everyone."
Saeko: "I should sleep too. I've still got a headache from testing telekinesis."
Fubuki: "Saeko, if you've got questions, ask me. I'm a superpower user too—number one among B-class, in fact."
Saeko: "Got it."
This was her only real survival tool now—she'd cling to it.
Fubuki: "If we ever get the ability to travel worlds, you'll always have a spot in my Blizzard Group."
Shepherd: "Ah, so the knife comes out."
Lazy Angel: "Still recruiting for your group, huh?"
Fubuki: "Of course. It's the biggest B-class hero team I built from scratch. If you're interested, DM me and I'll register you."
Rosen smiled faintly at that.
It was late, so everyone in the chat drifted off to bed—everyone except Gabriel.
Ever since she'd "fallen" from Heaven, she'd used her ridiculous body stats to pull all-nighters gaming, napping only a few minutes in the morning.
Then she'd teleport straight to her classroom seat, skipping the walk to school entirely.
Makeup sleep? She just did it during lectures.
Rosen could pull the same trick now, but games weren't the most interesting thing for him anymore.
Morning sunlight spilled across the campus.
School was a familiar place for Rosen by now.
Before yesterday—before he saw what this world was really like—he'd been planning to coast on his pre-travel knowledge: plagiarize some novels, buy Bitcoin and stocks, make a fortune, retire, and spend his days chasing pretty girls.
But now that he had powers, his goal had shifted—find beautiful girls, make contracts with them as companions, hop to other worlds via the chat, make more contracts, and then make money on the side… while still chasing pretty girls.
Different route, same destination.
Maybe not Homelander-level ambition, but enough to do whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted—without neglecting certain… personal needs.
Before class, the room buzzed with chatter.
Rosen dropped into his usual seat—second from the back.
A few discreet glances flicked his way.
After the Tree of Life upgrade, his looks hadn't changed drastically, but his whole vibe was different.
Not quite the "before-and-after" of a plastic surgery drama, but close.
Eiriri, Marin Kitagawa, Isuzu Sento…
His gaze swept over the classroom, landing on several familiar faces.
Seeing Isuzu should have tipped him off—this world wasn't exactly normal.
The bell rang.
Rosen switched straight to idle mode.
He'd already graduated high school once, and Japanese high school was easy in comparison. Outside of exams, he'd never bothered to listen in class.
Now, with the chat group, he could slack off with purpose—eyes forward, posture straight, and the teacher would never suspect a thing.
Meanwhile, he could stream anime from Gabriel's uploads right in the group files.
Hours crawled by until lunch break.
Remembering his promise to Miko Yotsuya, Rosen headed for the rooftop—until a voice stopped him.
"Rosen, you seem… different from yesterday."
