X The Hunter – Episode 5: "The Sky Tyrant"
Cold Open — Face of the Dragon
Previously, on X The Hunter…
A rapid montage flashes across memory —
Xavier's bloody first kill in the subway tunnels.
The rooftop rivalry with Kai.
The crackling birth of Volt Breaker against the Storm Serpent.
And the impossible victory over the Warlord Beast, pushing him from Level 1 to Level 7 in just days.
But now…
A shadow swallows the skyline.
The camera tilts up until the only thing visible is the Sky Tyrant Dragon's massive head, its molten breath warping the very air.
From somewhere just beyond the heat haze, the cloaked Hunter's voice cuts through:
"Let's see if you're worth keeping alive."
Act 1 — Impossible Odds
In the Guild HQ, chaos reigns. Sirens scream, red mana indicators flaring across the holographic map. The Guild's command voice crackles through the comms:
"Class-S threat detected — all units retreat immediately!"
Kai's voice shouts over the channel: "We've got civilians trapped — retreat isn't an option!"
Xavier's reply is calm but unyielding. "If we run now, it'll kill everyone in its path."
The Sky Tyrant Dragon unleashes a roar so powerful the shockwave obliterates windows for entire city blocks. Flames dance in its throat.
From above, the cloaked Hunter drops like a meteor, landing between Xavier and the dragon. Twin black scythes slide into his hands with an ominous whisper of steel.
Act 2 — Duel & Distraction
Kai launches himself at the cloaked Hunter, twin blades meeting scythe steel in a rapid-fire blur of sparks and metal. Every clash is a sonic boom in miniature.
Xavier breaks off toward the dragon, activating Beast Sense — but the mana signature is so overwhelming, it turns his vision into blinding static.
A wall of flame erupts from the dragon's jaws. Xavier's instincts scream. Volt Breaker Overdrive activates, and he zig-zags through the collapsing buildings, shards of glass raining around him.
Even at Level 7… I'm still nothing to this monster.
Act 3 — The Breakthrough
The dragon's tail slams down, fracturing the street like an earthquake. Xavier rolls clear — barely — but the aftershock sends him crashing into a pile of rubble.
His HUD pulses in crimson:
HP: 5% — Critical Condition
His fingers tighten around the Hunter's Core. A blinding light surges outward — not the familiar electric blue, but a fierce, golden radiance.
A primal heat floods his body.
New Mode Unlocked: Primal Instinct
Suddenly, the world slows. Every movement, every ripple in the dragon's scales, is crystal clear. His body moves before his thoughts.
He vaults up the dragon's wing in a blur, blade slicing deep into the joint. The beast's knee buckles under its own weight, a scream of rage shaking the skyline.
Act 4 — The First Wound
With Kai still locked in his duel, Xavier channels everything — Volt Breaker, Overdrive, and now Primal Instinct — into one final strike.
He drives his blade into the thick scale at the dragon's shoulder. Sparks and blood erupt. It's not a killing blow, but the pain is enough to make the Sky Tyrant roar and launch itself into the sky, skyscrapers collapsing under the force of its wings.
The cloaked Hunter disengages from Kai with a mocking smirk and vanishes into the night alongside the beast.
Xavier's HUD explodes in bright gold:
LEVEL UP! 7 → 9
New Passive Skill: Primal Instinct (Lv.1)
Kai, slumped against a heap of rubble, spits dust from his mouth. "You just made an enemy out of something that could destroy the world."
Xavier sheathes his blade, smirk cutting through the soot on his face. "Good. Makes the hunt more interesting."
