Chapter 24: Yin-Yang Eye of Ice and Fire

Liu Yanyang looked ahead, only to see a thick, dark green poisonous fog.

It looked extremely dangerous; even from a short distance away, he could still smell the pungent, fishy odor lingering in the air.

It seemed this must be the Yin-Yang Eye of Ice and Fire, one of the three great treasures.

Dugu Bo had set up a poison formation, and the poisonous fog enveloped the entire Yin-Yang Eye.

Except for a few poisonous plants that could grow, anyone, whether human or spirit beast, who stumbled into it would be in danger of death.

"Your Majesty, are we here yet?" Liu Yanyang asked.

Dugu Bo nodded and walked straight towards the poison formation, with Liu Yanyang following closely behind.

Arriving in front of the poison formation, Dugu Bo waved his hand, creating a gap. Liu Yanyang followed Dugu Bo through the gap. Dugu Bo led them to the top of a mountain. Liu Yanyang's vision was a conical valley. Their summit was at its edge. Thick, humid steam rose from the valley, carrying a distinct odor of sulfur.

"Is there a hot spring down here?" Liu Yanyang asked knowingly.

Dugu Bo glanced at him. "You know a lot, boy!"

"This sulfur smell is usually only found near volcanic hot springs," Liu Yanyang explained.

"Follow me." Dugu Bo flashed, leaping directly into the pitch-black valley. Due to the night, fog, and the steepness of the cliff, Dugu Bo disappeared in the blink of an eye.

Liu Yanyang smiled, having unexpectedly received the same treatment as Tang San. This old poisonous creature was clearly trying to provoke him.

He then summoned his Dragon Roar Spear and leaped along the cliff face. Holding the spear in one hand, he thrust the spear into the mountain, slowing his descent.

As Dugu Bo fell into the mountain, he couldn't help but feel a sense of pride. "Stinky boy, let me see how you get down!" But after a while, he didn't see Liu Yanyang jump down, and Dugu Bo grew impatient, thinking that this brat was too audacious to run away. Then he saw a figure swiftly descending the mountainside. With his eyesight, he could clearly see the figure's movements.

"You really are a little freak now. How dare you do that? Aren't you afraid of falling to your death?"

Liu Yanyang said with a slight smile. "Your Majesty is here!"

Then he looked towards the valley before him. The valley was divided into two parts. Within the oval pools, the hot springs were milky white and vermilion.

Although they were within the same pool, they were clearly separated, each maintaining its own side.

The billowing steam continued to rise, slowly dissipating until it reached the mountain pass.

Lush greenery of various plants grew on the banks surrounding the pools.

"How about it? Are there any herbs here that you can use?" Dugu Bo's voice suddenly called out.

Liu Yanyang shook his head. "It seems Your Majesty possesses a treasured land, unaware of it! This place is called the Yin-Yang Eye of Ice and Fire."

Seeing Liu Yanyang shaking his head, Dugu Bo was about to explode in anger, but when he heard him mention the Yin-Yang Eye of Ice and Fire, he paused, a surge of curiosity building within him.

"The Yin-Yang Eye of Ice and Fire refers to this uniquely endowed spring before us. It's a place where twins are born, their yin and yang counteracting each other, a treasured place that might not even be formed in a million years."

"Your Majesty's ability to survive the intense venom of the Jade Scaled Snake is inextricably linked to the Yin-Yang Eye before us," Liu Yanyang said calmly.

The Yin-Yang Eye of Ice and Fire not only nourishes life but also has special benefits for the human body.

For someone as toxic as Dugu Bo, it holds immense benefits. Extreme heat and cold both counteract toxins.

And a place like the Yin-Yang Eye of Ice and Fire, home to a natural treasure, possesses an even stronger resistance to toxins.

Dugu Bo sighed, "Forget it, it's fate!"

Liu Yanyang walked into the valley, looking along the way, and couldn't help but feel emotional. There were so many top-quality medicinal herbs here.

He'd spent two years training outside the mixed circle of the Star Dou Great Forest and only found five or six top-grade medicinal herbs. But here, they were practically weeds, growing haphazardly everywhere!

Thinking back to the original novel, Tang San was truly unkind. Not counting the number of immortal herbs, just the sheer number of them alone—Tang San had plucked them all clean, leaving not a single one for Dugu Bo.

Liu Yanyang couldn't help but shake his head, feeling sorry for Dugu Bo.

He stopped at a spot and pointed to a large pale pink flower.

"This flower is called the Fragrant Qiluo Immortal Item. It's the nemesis of all poisons, neutralizing all toxins. It can't detoxify itself, but it can help."

Dugu Bo was surprised, having never expected such a miraculous herb to exist in his own herb garden. He then looked at Liu Yanyang, who was explaining something, and said in a deliberately cold tone.

"Tell me the effects of this immortal item. Aren't you afraid I'll regret it and kill you?"

Liu Yanyang laughed and said calmly.

"Your Majesty has suffered from the venom of the Jade-Scaled Snake his entire life, losing his father in childhood, his wife in middle age, and his son in old age!"

"You endured pain unbearable for ordinary people, endured hardships unbearable for ordinary people, and yet, ultimately, you achieved a titled position."

"This truly impresses me. While such a person may be eccentric and withdrawn, they always stick to their own bottom line!"

"Furthermore, I sincerely wish to become your Majesty's friend, regardless of age!" After saying this, Liu Yanyang stared intently at Dugu Bo.

Dugu Bo laughed heartily. "You are exceptionally gifted, thoughtful, intelligent, and you value both profit and friendship. You are truly unpredictable. It's no surprise I call you a little monster."

"Since Your Majesty is willing to become my friend, regardless of age, from now on, I will call you Old Poisonous Creature," Liu Yanyang said with a slight smile. It seemed his sincerity had impressed Dugu Bo.

"You can call me whatever you want. I don't care."

Dugu Bo turned and looked at the peerless immortal herb before him, feeling a deep sense of emotion. The curse of his Dugu lineage was finally about to be broken by his granddaughter.

"Now that the healing herb has been found, little monster, stay here. I'll go get Yanyan." With that, he prepared to soar into the sky.

Liu Yanyang immediately spoke up. "Wait, Old Poisonous Creature, there's no rush."

Turning around, Dugu Bo looked at Liu Yanyang with a hint of confusion.

"There are three methods to cure the Green Scale Snake venom: superior, intermediate, and inferior. Each method has different consequences and success rates. As for which one to use, it's up to you, Old Poisonous Creature, to choose."
