Ivy's POV
Mom's words sank in, and I couldn't deny her logic. Warren would inevitably come searching for me if rejected, so maintaining distance was my only option until our escape plan solidified. And yes, she'd hit the nail on the head about the strawberry shampoo—I'd been using it since elementary school. Jade had even started using it, despite her wolf's obvious distaste.
"You're right," I conceded, grabbing my bag before stepping out of my room. Mom joined me in the hallway, and I locked the door behind us as we made our way to the garage. "You'll help me find a scent my wolf actually likes?"
"Of course." She nodded while I tossed the bag of toiletries aside. Then she asked something unexpected: "Ivy, I was wondering... has there been anything unusual about Killian you wanted to discuss?"
I momentarily froze. Did she somehow know about Astrid? No—that was impossible. I recovered quickly. "Like what?"
