Ivy's POV
His words echoed in my head like a persistent alarm. This is war. I stared at my phone screen, time stretching impossibly while only seconds passed before new messages appeared.
I tested Rober's system myself, and it appears you need physical access. Good luck.
The messages flashed briefly on my screen before vanishing completely, as if they'd never existed. I blinked at my phone in confusion, waiting for more explanation or those familiar typing dots, but nothing came.
My first instinct was to contact Dad. Not wanting to worry him, I recorded a quick voice memo. "Stay safe. Keep me updated. If anything happens, I want to know."
Deep down, I knew he wouldn't tell me everything, but I hoped for something. The typing dots appeared almost immediately.
Dad-Worry about yourself babe. We will handle this on our side. These next four years will fly by, I promise.
