"A wolf's claim may roar like fire, but when the bond answers back, even the fiercest walls crumble to ash."
The gods above, I swore I would not let this happen, but when Rivan moved closer, I stepped back and until my back pressed against the carved oak door of chambers, his wolf breathing down my neck like a damn hurricane, and my own traitorous wolf purring like a lovesick kitten.
"This is ridiculous," I hissed, trying to shove him back. My hands hit his chest, and I might as well have been pushing against the castle walls. Rivan did not budge, and his lips curved into that insufferable grin, the one that made me want to slap him and kiss him in equal measure.
"Ridiculous," he repeated, voice low and far too amused. "You know my wolf can sense how your wolf is clawing at the surface; it wants out and wants me and my wolf."
I glared. "No"
His laugh was rich, dangerous. "Then stop pretending you don't feel it and be honest with yourself for once and stop being a coward."
