Chapter 43: Levius's Threat
'I can't believe this…why am I here?'
So as the council hall filled with chatter as lords and nobles argued over land disputes and taxes, Nadeira couldn't understand what she was doing in there,
She was still trembling from the night before, her hair tied loosely back, her skin was itchy and insides felt crumbling.
She wanted nothing more than to disappear, but the king's eyes kept shifting toward her, strict and watchful.
The doors opened, and Crown Prince Levius strode in.
He didn't even bow to his father before walking straight toward the middle of the hall. However, his eyes landed on Nadeira, and a smirk stretched across his face.
"Well, well," Levius said loudly, making sure everyone heard. "The drowned girl has finally decided to crawl into court. I thought you had turned into fish bait by now."
Laughter echoed through the chamber. Several lords chuckled, covering their mouths.
