Alucard had already discovered the truth: when he arrived in this world, every soul stored within his River of Death was gone.
But he had survived his weakest moment.
Earlier, the blood of that drunkard had restored his body — and granted him his first stored soul in this new world.
When his body had first transformed into that of a vampire, it had been strengthened, and he had trained it intentionally over time. Now, at full strength, a single punch from him could dent the frame of a small car.
Back on Earth, that was impressive — no, terrifyingly strong. At least, Alucard had always thought so.
But here…
In the world of One Piece, that power was laughable.
He thought of the top fighters he'd read about in the manga before he'd crossed over — and clicked his tongue.
"Still… that makes it interesting."
Alucard smiled faintly. He might enjoy peace, but he had never shied away from a good fight.
Yes… to hold unmatched power, to defeat the strongest enemies in the world, to claim the most beautiful wife in existence — and then, to live in quiet comfort wherever he pleased…
"That's the dream. And to achieve it… I need to see the strongest this world has to offer."
From the drunkard's memories, he knew: in two days, the Pirate King would be executed right here, in Loguetown.
"Although… it feels like my body's gotten smaller."
By his estimate, he now looked about fifteen or sixteen years old. His strength, however, hadn't diminished in the slightest.
It didn't bother him. Crossing worlds, de-aging — these things happened often enough in the stories he knew.
As for why he had gained his powers or crossed over at all — whether it was pure chance or part of someone's grand design — he didn't care.
If it was coincidence, he would simply use his power well.
If it was someone's scheme… well, if he gained enough strength, perhaps he'd resist. If not, he'd let it be.
Either way, it wasn't worth much thought now.
"First things first — find a place to stay."
He began wandering the streets, eventually reaching the massive execution platform built for the Pirate King's final moment. Even two days early, crowds had already gathered to witness the end of Gol D. Roger.
The central area was cordoned off, guarded by lines of Marines to prevent anyone from tampering with the platform.
"So… the Pirate King and the Marine high command must already be here," Alucard murmured, glancing toward a nearby building.
He decided he would kill whoever lived on the upper floors and take the room for himself — the perfect vantage point to watch the execution.
But then—
"Wait…"
He stopped mid-step, his lips curling into a slow, wicked grin.
"I just thought of something… much more entertaining. But first… my River of Death needs more fuel."
Changing course, Alucard turned away from the building.
He was still far too weak — and he needed to choose his hunting grounds carefully. Somewhere with few people, somewhere his true nature would not be exposed. After all, the task he had in mind would cost him more than a single life.
And so, with his plan decided, he walked toward the quieter edges of town. His form shifted, features melting away until he once again wore the face of the drunkard — the only disguise he could use for now.
