This was a strange world it was about the size of the earth. But there was a very big thing separating the two worlds, this world had magic. Yes real magic, creatures could use this power to create flames out of nowhere, create towering mountains on flat land, create an ocean on dry land, use wind to fly. Also the lands were very diverse some where filled with volcanoes and sand, others forest which covered the sky and earth, others had rainforests in which the rain never stopped, some had flat land with rivers good for agriculture, some places where filled with darkness and for some reason the light from the sun never reached it.
Not only that but this world also had many different races which evolved along side each other for years fighting for territory. These races were: dwarfs which were good at smelting, goblins which reproduce as fast as rats, elves who protect their forests and gain blessings, orcs which have many diverse individual with insane strength and of course the race favoured by gods dragons.
Dragons are gifted with insane strength and magic power, but they lack intelligence since they live a long time, it takes a long time for them to awaken their consciousness and are driven by instincts.
But there was one race that everyone overlooked-humans, a race which do to their short lives and smart mind started questioning magic, started taking notes from other races, started making better weapons and started taming animals, this race wanted to leave a mark in the world, to destroy everything that other long lasting races had created.
This world was Ethenia.

Everything around was just snow, the only green was sometimes some trees growing in this environment, they were rare since a lot of them adopted white leaves and trunk to blend in since herbivores were always searching for food. A goat has come here it was the green leaves of the tree it wanted to replenish some energy since it just climbed down from the mountain. It had white fur since everything where you look was just snow, even the mountains were covered by snow. It was on alert since predators could be hiding in the snow. It came near the tree now it had to somehow reach the leaves which were high up the tree, so it decided to hit the tree with its head to drop the leaves.

Many leaves had dropped, but it stopped and listened nothing was heard so it started eating the leaves.
But something was watching it.

The goat couldn't even react as a huge animal sprung out of snow. It had scales which were fully white and horns which were facing forward, it had four big legs as it was a four-legged creature and a tail for balance and wings for flying, since the goat didn't expect this it did't have time to avoid it and quickly the dragon opened its mouth and sprung them down on the goat it was nearly bitten in peaces.
It let out a sound, but quickly sharp claws wen't threw it's head. This dragon from head to tail was
23 meters, it Unfolded its wings It's wingspan was 42 meters. It was an ice dragons a male at that, ice dragons are a subspecies of flying water dragons, they live in cold and snowy areas these species of male dragons usually grow 19-29 meters in length and have a wingspan of about 38–50 meters, while females usually grow 25-32 meters in length and have a wingspan of 40-57 meters one of the most largest dragon subspecies. They grow this large since food is scarce, and having a bigger mean that many other predators can become prey to them, females are a bit larger than males since they need energy to lay eggs and feed their young.
They have adapted to the snowy environment and they are apex predators in snowy areas. Even thought they adapted to the snow if they don't eat enough they can either starve of freeze to death, since they still need food to heat themselves if the temperatures go below -30 degrees.
They mostly make a cave in the ground or in a mountain. They can also use mana to create icicles out of thin air and breathe dragon breath which freezes everything. Right now it's summer and snow blizzards happen rarely, this is the only time there is a clear sky since snow never stops snowing in these areas.
Such weather meant that it was a mating season for most species living in this area. This male was searching for a mate and had hunted the goat as a gift. It started flying up a mountain since he smelled a scent of a female ice dragon at the top.
It didn't take long as the wings of ice dragons were made strong so that they could fly in blizzards. Ice dragons do to the ice element age slower and usually reach juvenile age at 60 years, adulthood at 160 years a little later than normal dragons, if they don't die they could at 800 years reach elder dragon level and at 1600 years old mythic dragon level. But they would probably like most dragons die by magic overload. The male had reached the top he saw the female dragon she was 28 meters in length, with her wings folded. Another male was there he was 22 meters in length and then he saw that another male had come he unfolded his wings and his wingspan was 41. Both males stared each other and were both had wings unfolded and tried to intimidate each other by size.
But our lucky male had bigger size, the smaller male understood that, he went forward it was going to be a bloody fight. The smaller male quickly struck forward trying to bite the neck, but the bigger one avoided the attack and stepped back his neck started glowing white and he unleashed ice breath, the smaller one tanked it and unleashed icicles, the bigger male tanked the icicles too and pounced on the smaller male they started wriggling together trying to bite each others necks using their sharp claws to claw at each other blood got spilled, scales fell down still the bigger male was able to pin the smaller male down and with a sharp claw blind him in an eye and bit him down on the neck the bite force of dragons was no joke and the smaller size dragons neck was snapped and he died. He would be a good food source for the female dragon.
While ice dragon would use a lot of magic ice attack, because they are the darlings of cold, this time it was a battle of strength, since the dragon were young and had just reached adulthood and didn't know many magic spells. The older the dragon the more spells it can learn and the more it relies on them. The male which won would now help the female find a cave and mate.
The dragons have a reproduction system similar to crocodiles. They have a cloaca-A cloaca is a single posterior opening that serves as the outlet for the digestive, urinary, and reproductive tracts in many animals, including amphibians, reptiles, birds, and monotremes. It is essentially a shared chamber where waste and reproductive materials are expelled from the body.
At first the mating starts by small kisses and bites on the scales mostly the neck.
Under the tail of the male is a cloaca it is protected by armour scales harder than most of the other scales on their body inside of it is a retractable penis, as the muscles with scales protecting the retractable penis relax the penis comes out it means the male is ready to mate, the female also has a cloaca with the same strong scales defending its opening, the muscles relax and the cloaca is prepared. It takes about 1-3 minutes for the male to climb on the back of the female's back, tails aligned, lots of growls and hisses happen to show dominance or courtship. The dragon inheritance for babies are inherited from the parents. How does it happen, well dragons have two hearts one is for blood pumping while the other is a mana heart it is the very essence of mana and there are special veins around the body circulating it. Then the male inserts his organ into the female's claoca and starts mana and semen transfer lasting 15-50 minutes, in this time the female's cloaca chamber circulates the energy, preparing for fertilisation. During this time both dragons would try to remain still to conserve energy. After everything is completed they pull apart carefully - since sometimes females lash out, so males must be fast.
After mating the male would leave and never return, while the female would start desighning its nest, covering the rock walls with ice, filling the room with its treasures, since everything here is cold most of the treusures are gemstones found in the caves. Then moving out of the nest into another, dragons store their treusures into their stomach space, since their stomach has a secondary chamber that doesn't digest, just store. 1-2 months after mating the female dragon lays 6 eggs, young ice dragons lay 6-8 eggs, thats because ice dragons use baby dragon quantity over quality, and the babies are born smaller than most of other dragon species.
After 6 months the eggs hatch. To break out the babies have a horn at their nose which is used to break out of the egg after hatching they don't use it anymore and it just falls out. Out of the 6 eggs only 3 were successful as 2 failled to either break out of the eggshell or didn't form life. 1 was born as a lowblood, a drahon which didn't awaken their inheritance, or a mutation happend were missing a limb or just fully no thought in them lowborns just get thrown out of the nest or eaten by other babies.
The 3 successful ones after breaking out of the egg, say their dragon names that they got from the inheritance. The mother dragon break off a chunk from the dead smaller male drahon and drops it in front of the babies to eat. The little dragons try to get as much as they can, after eating theh would play or fight while the mother dragon sleeps.
A gemstone was lying further away from the mother's tresures 2 baby dragons eyed each other. They wanted it it was a fight. They were of the same size and all white the only difference was that one baby was a female while the other was a male. The fight starts, the baby dragons charge at each other, they hit each other's head and start biting and clawing, targeting the eyes, nose and belly. The female is able to turn the male over exposing the belly and clawing at it with claws this time the claws are sharp enough to go threw the weak scales and blood splashes.
The female is victorious she comes near the gemstone and examines it, licks it taste it and finaly eats it. They are driven by instincts like all dragons.
