Only then did Jellal calm down completely. Noah had explained everything with such detail and honesty that it clearly didn't sound like a lie. Slowly, Jellal began to believe his words.
"Then I'll leave this child in your care. I have something I must do. Goodbye, both of you."
With the little girl's safety assured, Jellal let out a quiet sigh of relief. After bidding his farewell, he turned and prepared to leave.
Seeing this, Noah quickly reached out to stop him.
"Wait. You're leaving now? Without waiting for your little sister to wake up and say goodbye?"
"No. I've already made a promise to her, so there's no need. Besides, there's something nearby I have to take care of."
Hearing that, Noah's eyes narrowed slightly.
"You mean the magic that's been taking shape nearby?"
Jellal froze, stunned. How could Noah possibly know that?
Reading his expression, Noah waved a hand calmly.
"I felt a strange magic earlier, so I went to check it out. It was forming into a spell. Its target was the village below, and I didn't like what I saw. So I stopped it."
Jellal exhaled slowly in relief.
"That magic is what I came to stop. It's called Anima."
"So that's it. It really is dangerous. From the way you look, I can tell you won't give us the details yet. That's fine. But let me at least help you a little, so you can carry out what you must."
Noah reached into his pocket and pulled out several items, handing them to Jellal. The boy accepted them with a puzzled look.
"This crystal can be used for communication. If you need anything, you can contact me directly.
This bracelet automatically absorbs magic from the atmosphere and stores it. It carries a shield enchantment that will protect you from harm, even activating on its own to block fatal damage. You'll understand how it works once you wear it.
This cloak also gathers ambient magic. It keeps itself clean, stays warm in the winter and cool in the summer, and carries gravity magic for training your body. Since you can't use magic, strengthening your body is essential.
These are some basic medicines, labeled with their effects healing, detoxification, restoring stamina, and so on.
And here's some money. Enough to cover your living expenses for a month."
Hearing all this, Jellal's eyes widened. Even without knowing their exact worth, he could tell these items were extraordinary. Combined with the money, it was far too much. He hurriedly tried to refuse.
"No… I can't accept all this."
"It's fine. I made these myself. They're not valuable to me. Just tell me how they work for you when you use them.
Think of them as my support for what you're trying to accomplish. Please, take them."
Jellal refused several more times, but Noah insisted. At last, he accepted the gifts.
As he did, Noah gave him one final reminder.
"Cover your face and body. Don't let anyone see who you are. Don't use your real name. Pick an alias, or you'll invite nothing but trouble."
Jellal still didn't fully understand, but covering his face was simple enough. He trusted Noah wouldn't harm him. Setting down his pack, he put on the cloak Noah had given him, pulling the hood low.
Noah handed him a small coin charm. When Jellal activated it, his face became obscured, hidden completely from outside view.
Shouldering his pack once again, Jellal looked back one last time.
"Goodbye, Noah. Goodbye, Grandpa. I'll be leaving now."
"Remember, if you need anything, contact me. And don't forget to come to Fairy Tail."
"Child, be careful on the road," Roubaul added gently.
Jellal gave them both a solemn nod. Then, without another word, he turned and walked away.Roubaul watched Jellal's retreating figure and asked Noah quietly:
"Are those the ones you've been waiting for?"
"Yes. I've been waiting for them. There was word they'd come here, but no one knew exactly when, so I stayed ahead of time."
Roubaul did not press further and instead shifted the subject.
"You said that boy had no magic power? As far as I know, everyone has magic power it's only a question of how much."
"That's the other matter. Both my senior… and Jellal, they come from another world."
"Another world?"
"Our world is called Ascalon. Jellal's world is called Edolas. The two are alike, yet different.
What's the same is the people. It seems that those who exist in our world also exist in theirs, with the same names and faces. That's why I warned Jellal to hide his appearance and use another name, or it would cause him endless trouble.
The difference is that in Edolas, magic is scarce, unlike here, where it flows endlessly through the land.
That's all I know. There isn't much information, and I don't dare ask my senior more her temper isn't exactly gentle."
"I see. So there truly is such a world…"
Roubaul let out a wistful sigh. Four hundred years ago, war had been everywhere. Just surviving had been a burden.
Later, he had created Nirvana, only to unleash a disaster worse than war. To atone for those sins, he had lived quietly in a deserted village, far from the world's affairs. Naturally, he had never known of such mysteries.
He sighed again, then let the matter rest. His gaze shifted to the small girl sleeping beside them.
"What will you do now? Take her back immediately?"
"We should wait until she wakes. After all, Jellal entrusted her to you first."
"Very well. Let her rest for a while longer."
The two moved a little distance away, discussing magic while Noah placed a soundproofing spell around them so the girl's sleep would not be disturbed.
Before long, the little one stirred, her small hands twitching as her eyes fluttered open.
Noah had been keeping watch. The moment she awoke, he dissolved the soundproofing spell. Roubaul turned at once, and together the two of them walked over.
The girl slowly pushed herself up, her voice soft and timid.
"Grandpa… big brother… where is this?"
"This is Grandpa's home," Noah answered gently.
At once, the little girl's eyes began to fill with tears.
"Jellal… Jellal said he would take me to the guild…"
"I am a guild wizard," Noah said with a reassuring smile. "I'm a member of Fairy Tail. I can take you to the guild right now."
