Chapter 12 - Chapter 11

Evan emerged from the forest, in a place away from the tournament camp. He walked through that lonely area, he couldn't just leave the forest and return, it was better for the duke's guards to find him in that clear area. Otherwise he would be suspected of that man's death, and even if the suspicions were cleared up, they would not be forgotten.

"Raven? I have to look into it."

He felt a buzz, so he cleared his mind.

"Aria, I must protect that little girl."

Almost an hour later, Evans heard:

-Young sir, young sir.

Some of the duke's guards were approaching, he walked towards them.

-All the guards are looking for him, we must return immediately, young sir.

Evans, who was holding the last elixir with his energy, followed the guards silently until they reached the camp where there seemed to be a commotion.

Evans approached Ana who was holding a sleeping Aria and asked her with feigned curiosity:

-What happened?

-They found a victim of the Fireheads killer.

-How scary. -Evans said holding Ana's skirt.

"What an exaggerated name"

Since there was little they could find, once the tournament was over, the Emperor assigned a private investigator to the murder case.

As they returned, Evans carefully observed the landscape through the carriage window; since he knew very little about the environment in which he found himself.

"I have to get stronger; I will have to train harder."

The night came, Evans closed the carriage window, Aria was reading a children's book and Lizet guided her when she did not understand something, in the end Lizet was a noble fall, she had a good basic education; On the other hand, Ana took out some appetizers from a compartment and prepared them so that everyone could eat.

Although Evans tried not to think about what happened in the forest, the name "Raven" kept appearing in his consciousness.

Evans looked at Aria, she seemed happy.

"I hope you're happy my little Aria. In the end no one knows what anyone else really feels; I can only do the best I can."

Aria closed the book and ran over to Evans to sit next to him.

-Let's eat together. -Aria said happily as she received two small fruit cakes on a porcelain plate.

-Yes, let's eat. -Evans responded with a warm smile.

"Everything will be resolved in due time, whether by fate or personal will."

After arriving at the mansion, Evans followed his routine and eventually lay down to sleep.

Fire, fire, fire.

Someone was burning, but they didn't scream, they didn't shudder, they just turned to ashes.

Fire, fire, fire.

His heart was pounding, Evans woke up sweating profusely, but no matter how hard he tried he couldn't remember what he had dreamed.

Two months later.

Evans ran through the trees at speed by circulating less than one percent of his power, as he ran he increased the amount of energy and speed.

Bang!

Evans lost his balance and rolled on the ground, soon after he got up, checked his condition and continued, he knew, currently he could only face a warrior in the second rank or a magician in the second circle head on, and even then it would be difficult. Evans knew that an enemy who did not let his guard down would never receive the attacks with which he defeated the mercenaries in the forest.

Evans stopped, took the elixir that strengthened his physique, and meditated.

When he finished, he returned to training with the imaginary warrior. Evans dodged, dodged, concentrated on escape, for now he had to improve his agility and perception.

Cut! Cut!

Blood!

Even though he was now able to dodge a warrior of the fourth rank for a while, he was still killed in about five seconds.

"It's enough for the moment; overdoing it would be harmful to this body"

Evans had saved most of the mana elixirs he had received, although he had already found use for some of the elixirs, he was still considering whether to create a mana circle.

Evans lay down on the grass, closed his eyes.

"One month, I will train for another month, then create a mana circle, I think it can be very useful in my current condition."

When Evans opened his eyes, the sky was chiaroscuro.

"I fell asleep. I should be more careful!"

Evans stood up and headed toward the mansion. As Evans walked, he encountered few servants.

"Today is the day off for those wretches."

Midnight.

In a modest house, with few furniture and arrangements; A woman was running scared, shortly before she had woken up by the aroma of burning flesh coming from her husband's face.

"I managed to escape," she thought when her hand was about to reach the handle of the door that led to the exit of the house; but her hope disappeared, Evans appeared in front of her, she saw him and felt like she saw a monster.

-I said that if you left the house I would let you live. It seems like you didn't make it.

-Please! I beg you, young sir, no, Mr. Evans; I was just doing what everyone else did...

-Don't worry; all those who insulted my mother, Aria, and me; They will all go through the same thing.

-You...

-Shhh, let no one know that the devil seeks revenge.

Evans' hand touched the face of the woman who tried to resist in vain.
