Chapter 14 - Chapter 13

Evans was very angry.

"After tonight I owe nothing to anyone in this dukedom; only Aria will be my reason."

Evans opened his eyes and asked in a calm voice:

-Who are you?

-Don't worry, you don't need to know. -A man's voice responded.

The blankets flew and Evans grabbed a man almost two meters tall by the neck and with a murderous look said to him:

-You enter hell and you don't answer the devil.

Evans never forgot what the real Evans requested of him that night.

-you!

Squeeze! blood!

The decapitated head fell to the ground. Evans saw his right hand, there were about three cracks from which a dark miasma emanated. I knew it, only twenty percent of my power hurts my body.

"Duchess; I will make you suffer like you cannot imagine."

Evans used magic to clean the blood, disposed of the intruder's body, and left the head hanging from a tree in the garden.

The next day. The most surprised was Rian, as she saw Harold's head hanging from a tree in the garden. The rest of the servants did not know him, but immediately thought that he was just another victim.

That morning, as usual, Evans went out to train, but now he wore a white glove on his right hand.

Despite the unpleasant night, which caused Evans to lose most of the mobility in his right hand; The rest of Evans' body could now withstand little more than one percent of his energy.

"In order to move my right hand perfectly, I will have to learn puppet magic and reach the second circle."

Evans had already accepted the permanent injury and was preparing to adapt and continue getting stronger as quickly as possible.

From her study, the duchess observed the front garden of the mansion; Now she was worried, that hanging head was a direct warning, otherwise they would have just made the body disappear.

"Who protects him? Who?" the duchess asked herself in her mind without finding an answer.

The afternoon of that day Rian returned to the Sol Blanco headquarters to report what had happened. The news caused a stir and raised concern because Harold was a warrior at the peak of the fifth rank.

Months passed and Evans turned twelve, now he was a handsome and slender young man with a height of 1.57 meters.

In his room, Evans was trying on an elegant ivory suit.

"Yes, I like light colors better."

-How handsome you are! -Aria said congratulating her brother.

-You are also charming. -Evans told him.

-Young Sir, the Duke wishes to see you. -Ana informed him.

-Alright; I'm ready. -Evans said after adjusting his tie a little.

Duke's study.

-Son, I see that you have made good use of the elixirs. Do you want something? -The duke asked.

"Yes, I want you to kill the duchess; but I know that I have to solve that."

-Father, if I can request mid-level elixirs, that would be enough. -Evans responded with a respectful tone.

The duke rang a bell and a servant came in with a small Limgic wooden box and handed it to Evans.

Evans opened the box and saw a storage ring that inside had 420 mid-level physical strengthening elixirs and 420 mid-level mana elixirs. The ring in itself was a gift.

-I hope you protect your sister; just as you said more than a year ago. -Indicated the Duke.

-As long as I live I will not allow them to hurt her. -Evans responded with determination; but shortly after he looked away.

-You can leave. -Said the Duke.

Evans bowed and left.

Evans placed the ring on his left hand and returned to his room.

"With these elixirs and training, I will get stronger faster."

When he returned to his room he changed his outfit into a simple shirt and pants. He looked at Aria who was watching him expectantly, since Evans was going to give him his first magic class.

-Aria, if you want me to continue reading stories to you, you must pay close attention to the classes I will give you. -Evans indicated.

-I will do it, if my brother wants that, I will do it. -Aria answered.

-That is. -Evans added, satisfied with Aria's disposition.

"My little sister, you have the potential to become a magician; I want you to take advantage of it so that in the future you can protect yourself."

In the first few classes, Evans only taught Aria the basics about magic; He tried to make it as fun as possible so she could love magic; He didn't want him to only see magic as a subject of study that he had to learn in order to solve problems.

Thanks to that dedication, little by little Aria began to understand, from her childhood perspective, what magic was and its possibilities.

In the end, Evans taught Aria a basic technique for absorbing mana from the environment and guided her while she was still learning how to absorb mana.

Almost six months passed like this.

In the back garden, at sunset, Evans was sitting inside a dome eating appetizers; Aria on the other hand, made sparks between her hands that resembled stars.

"You have not yet formed your mana circle and you are already capable of subtly manipulating one of the most dreamy magics; if at this moment you can handle light magic, it is very likely that you also have an affinity with other elements."

-Aria. -Evans called Aria and created in front of her a jumping rabbit made of sparks equal to the ones Aria created. -When you have more experience you can do it too, you just have to believe in yourself.

Aria nodded as her eyes continued to shine.
