Chapter 29 - Preparing for the Night

Episode 29: Preparing for the Night

On the last floor, slightly above the parking level, there was a room with a large banner hanging outside its entrance.

Orange lights flickered around the banner, illuminating the words written across it:

"The Drama Club."

Beside the words were two smiling faces. Their eyes were completely black, making the images appear strangely unsettling.

A few steps below the room stretched a massive parking hall supported by square-shaped pillars standing throughout the area.

The walls on the left and front sides were lined with hundreds of vehicles—cars, large school buses, and several motorcycles.

Among those vehicles roamed a terrifying horde of zombies.

Some staggered between the parked buses.

Others wandered through the open spaces of the parking floor.

Many of them looked horrifying, as if they had already torn each other apart.

Some had disfigured faces.

Some were missing chunks of flesh from their stomachs, exposing white bones beneath.

Others wore ripped shirts stained with blood and filth.

Their bodies swayed as they walked aimlessly through the parking floor not far from the Drama Club.

The sound of their terrifying growls echoed throughout the entire level.

Yet despite the nightmare outside, a group of survivors still remained alive inside the Drama Club.

Miss Selena's recent announcement had given them hope.

For the first time since the outbreak began, they believed survival might be possible.

And while they waited for nightfall and further instructions, they also began preparing themselves for what was to come.

Scene Shift

Mr. Smitt stood up from the table once again and said,

"Alright. Since everyone has introduced themselves, the next step is preparing ourselves for the night. So hurry up and find weapons for yourselves."

The moment they heard this, everyone scattered across the room and began searching for anything that could be used as a weapon.

John noticed a pants belt lying nearby.

He picked it up and fastened it around his waist.

Then he began looking around for useful items to store in it.

Soon, he spotted several perfume bottles resting on a table covered with makeup supplies.

Since the belt only had enough space to carry two bottles, John quickly attached two perfume bottles to it.

On the other side of the room, Smitt noticed a black bag resting in a corner.

He dragged it to the center of the room and opened it.

John, Mary, and Jackson immediately gathered around him to see what was inside.

As soon as Smitt opened the bag, they discovered various tools packed inside.

There was a medium-sized saw, a hammer, and several other pieces of equipment.

Without wasting time, Smitt began distributing them.

He handed the hammer to Mary.

Then he gave a small axe to John.

After searching through the rest of the bag and finding nothing else suitable as a weapon, Jackson began scanning the room.

Suddenly, his eyes landed on a long blue bag lying beneath a table.

The word "Golf" was written across it in dark green letters.

Jackson immediately pulled the bag out and carried it over to the group.

Then he placed it on the floor and unzipped it.

Inside were several small white golf balls and two long golf clubs.

Jackson picked up both clubs.

He tossed one toward Mr. Smitt.

Smitt caught it skillfully without any difficulty.

Jackson kept the other one for himself.

The group exchanged smiles.

For a brief moment, they felt relieved to finally have weapons.

However, those smiles quickly faded as reality returned.

Mr. Smitt suddenly spoke in an energetic voice.

"So, are my three students ready?"

The three of them immediately replied together,

"Yes, Sir!"

Smitt grinned mischievously.

"Look, I know I'm your teacher, but stop calling me 'Sir' all the time. You can just call me Smitt."

Then he looked at them and asked,

"Do you three understand?"

Once again, they answered in unison.

"Yes, Smitt!"

The moment those words left their mouths, everyone burst into laughter.

For a short while, the fear surrounding them seemed to disappear.

Then the four of them settled down and waited for night to arrive.
