Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Setting Sail Once More!

A month passed in the blink of an eye, and the time had finally come to head for Loguetown!

This time, with Bell-mère's approval, Lynn and Nami no longer had to sneak out to sea in secret.

At the doorway of their home, Bell-mère and Nojiko stood with worried expressions as they watched the two prepare to depart.

As for Sheriff Genzo, he had already gone off to patrol the village—his most important daily duty.

"Lynn, Nami, I may have agreed to let you go out to sea, but you have to promise me you'll be careful. If you get hurt, I won't allow you to go out again!" Bell-mère warned, her gaze filled with seventy percent concern and thirty percent seriousness.

"Don't worry, Bell-mère! I'll protect Nami and myself!" Lynn assured her with determination.

"That's right, Bell-mère! Lynn is super strong!" Nami added confidently.

Lynn could now lift a boulder weighing three thousand pounds. With him by her side, Nami felt like she could go anywhere!

"Alright, off you go. Just remember to come back early," Bell-mère said gently, watching as the two set off.

No matter how much she wished to keep them close, she knew that children would one day spread their wings and fly. It was just a matter of when she chose to let them go.

Besides, Lynn was a reliable kid—that much she could trust.

"Thanks, Bell-mère! Hehe~ Nojiko, I'll bring you something delicious!" Nami beamed, delighted to see Bell-mère smile again.

Then, with a casual motion, she pushed open an air door at her side, stepping into a different space with Lynn.

The moment the door closed, Bell-mère and Nojiko felt a pang of emptiness in their hearts.

When Lynn and Nami reappeared, they found themselves on the deserted beach behind the village.

Bell-mère had insisted that their Devil Fruit abilities remain a secret from the villagers—both to protect them and to keep Cocoyasi Village safe.

Emerging from the pocket dimension, Lynn immediately transformed into his full beast form. The flames surrounding his body flickered out as he crouched down.

"Nami, hop on!"

"Okay~ Hehehe~"

With a running start, Nami leaped onto Lynn's back, landing steadily before settling into a cross-legged position.

Her face lit up with excitement. "I'm all set! Let's go, Lynn!"

"Hold on tight, Nami."

With a powerful flap of his wings, Lynn soared high into the sky!

Back at their house, Bell-mère and Nojiko stood outside for a moment longer. They watched the massive fire phoenix disappear into the distance before turning back inside.

High above the sea, Lynn slowed his flight slightly to let Nami get her bearings.

"Lynn, a little more to the left… Yeah, that's the right direction!" Nami pointed ahead confidently.

"Got it. I'm speeding up, so hold on tight!" Lynn called over the wind.

"I've got you!" Nami pressed herself against his back, gripping him tightly.

With a few powerful flaps, Lynn accelerated, cutting through the sky like a blazing comet.

Excitement bubbled within Nami. Even though this was her second time going out to sea, the thrill hadn't faded one bit.

The distance from Cocoyasi Village to Loguetown was about the same as the journey to the Kingdom of Oykot.

Along the way, thanks to Nami's exceptional navigation skills, they managed to avoid several major storms.

After roughly three hours, they arrived at the island of Polaris, where Loguetown was located.

They landed in a secluded spot on the island, using Nami's Door-Door Fruit ability to discreetly enter Loguetown.

In a deserted alley corner, Nami cautiously peeked out from an air door.

"The coast is clear! We can go now, Lynn." With that, she stepped out lightly, and Lynn followed close behind.

Loguetown was truly deserving of its reputation as one of the East Blue's most prosperous places.

Even here, in a quiet alley, they could hear the lively bustle of the streets just beyond.

"Come on, Nami. Let's check out the place where the Pirate King was executed," Lynn suggested, reaching for her soft little hand.

"Alright! Let's go!" Nami grinned, squeezing his hand as they stepped out into the crowded streets.

"Whoa~ It smells so good! Lynn, let's try the food here!" Nami inhaled deeply, the rich aroma from a nearby restaurant making her stomach rumble.

She glanced at Lynn for confirmation, but before he could answer, she had already started pulling him toward the entrance, her enthusiasm undeniable.

"Slow down, slow down..." Lynn said helplessly as Nami eagerly pulled him along.

Inside the restaurant, the atmosphere was lively and packed with customers enjoying their meals—it was nearly noon, the busiest time of the day.

After waiting a while, a table finally became available, but just as they were about to sit down, a massive man took the seat first, his huge frame completely filling it.

"Hey! That was our table!" Nami protested angrily.

"Galala la la la~"

"Scram, brat! Don't bother me while I'm eating!" the man sneered, revealing jagged yellow teeth as he laughed.

But when his gaze landed on Nami's delicate face, a glint of greed flickered in his eyes.

A cold, murderous voice suddenly cut through the air. "Bart... Are you looking for trouble in my restaurant?"

The massive man—Bart—immediately stiffened, breaking into a cold sweat. He had almost forgotten the one rule in this restaurant: don't cause trouble.

After all, running a bustling establishment in a place like Loguetown required more than just good food.

The other customers perked up, eager to watch the unfolding drama.

"I-I'm sorry, Boss Jehalen! I didn't mean anything by it! I'll leave right now!" Bart stammered before scurrying out of the restaurant in a panic.

Before disappearing, he cast one last greedy glance at Nami and Lynn.

The other patrons, disappointed that the commotion ended so quickly, soon returned to enjoying their meals.

"Please, have a seat. What would you like to eat?" Jehalen, the restaurant owner, asked with a polite smile.

"Hmm... I'll take... the ten best dishes you have!" Nami declared after a moment of thought, her decision clearly a difficult one.

Ten dishes should be enough to fill them halfway—they needed to save room for more delicacies later!

Lynn nodded approvingly. He could tell that Nami had planned ahead.

Since they had made it to Loguetown, they might as well enjoy as much good food as possible.

"Understood. Please wait a moment," Jehalen said before relaying the order to the kitchen.

Before long, the waiter arrived with ten steaming, mouthwatering dishes.

"Wow~ This smells amazing! Lynn, I'm digging in first!" Nami drooled as she eyed the feast before them.

Before Lynn could respond, she had already started devouring the food.

"Hey! Nami, save some for me!" Lynn complained before joining the feast.

Neither of them noticed that outside the restaurant, Bart had gathered a group of thugs—and they were waiting for them.
