Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: I'm Really Rich!

Lynn escorted Bart toward Loguetown, while Nami happily skipped back into the alien space.

After all, Nami's original body was frail, and staying in the different space made it easier for Lynn to move about outside without worrying about her safety.

Bart, walking ahead, was consumed with thoughts of how to escape Lynn's control.

He had worked tirelessly for years, only to now be forced to hand over all his hard-earned savings to a child who had once been his prey. The thought was unbearable!

Having spent considerable time in Loguetown, Bart had built up some connections. There were people protecting him at the naval base here.

If I can just find a chance to inform them...

"If you try anything funny, I'll turn you into roast chicken." Lynn's voice was lighthearted, but it carried a lethal edge.

A cold sweat broke out across Bart's back instantly.

"Please... have mercy! Don't kill me~" Bart pleaded, dropping to his knees in fear.

Lynn calmly walked up to him, then, with a swift movement, swung out his left leg and delivered a powerful whip kick to Bart, sending him flying backward.

Bang!

"Ah!"

"Puff~"

Bart flew over ten meters like a cannonball before crashing to the ground. A sharp, metallic taste filled his mouth, and he spat up several mouthfuls of blood.

"Please... don't kill me! I won't do it again!" Bart cried, struggling as he begged for mercy.

The pain in his body was unbearable, his bones aching as if they were on the verge of shattering, with several of his ribs definitely broken.

"Hmph!"

"Get up and lead the way!" Lynn said coldly.

Had Lynn not been intent on robbing the rich and helping the poor, he might have taken more decisive action right then.

But now, it was clear: he would take Bart's wealth first, then deal with him later.

"Y-Yes, yes! I'll lead the way!" Bart stammered, wincing as he got to his feet.

Wincing from the pain, he staggered forward, guiding Lynn toward his residence in Loguetown.

Inside the alien space, Nami watched the entire scene unfold with a grin. She thought Lynn's fierce expression had been so cool!

About half an hour later, Bart led Lynn to a two-story building.

For someone to own a small building in a bustling place like Loguetown, Bart's business was evidently quite profitable.

"It's all here... all of it. All these treasures are yours, brother! Please, just don't kill me!" Bart whimpered, his earlier bravado gone.

Having been a slave trader for years, Bart wasn't a fool. He understood the stakes now and hoped desperately that this terrifying little devil in front of him would take the treasures and leave quickly, sparing his life.

Just then, the air door beside them suddenly opened, and Nami bounded out of the alien space, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

"I'm rich, I'm rich! So many treasures!" Nami exclaimed, her eyes shaped like berries as she ogled the pile of wealth before her.

"Nami, hurry up and move all the treasure inside! These are ours now!" Lynn urged.

Despite having already subdued Bart, Lynn wasn't about to let his guard down. He needed to make sure they were safe and wouldn't be caught off guard.

Bart watched helplessly as his years of savings were carried off, piece by piece, by the two little robbers. His heart bled with each treasure that vanished.

Having spent so much time as the villain, he finally understood what it felt like to be robbed.

Only after all the treasure was stored safely inside the alien space did Lynn breathe a sigh of relief.

"Bart..." Lynn said, his tone playful but dangerous. "What should I do with you now?"

Bart, terrified by the look in Lynn's eyes, was about to speak when suddenly, everything went black. A powerful force gripped his neck, and he slowly lost consciousness.

"Lynn, what should we do with this guy?" Nami asked, her eyes glinting with both excitement and a hint of worry. She had secured a treasure trove, but she didn't want to risk retaliation from Bart.

"Hmm..." Lynn scratched his chin, deep in thought. "We'll take him into the different space for now, and then deal with him up on the mountain."

"Great idea!" Nami's face lit up as she eagerly watched Lynn carry Bart into the alien space.

Once on the mountain, and finding the area deserted, Lynn tossed Bart out of the space. Without hesitation, he followed up with a burst of fire, making sure the man was thoroughly disposed of.

Afterward, Lynn felt an exhilarating rush. So this is what it's like to rob the rich and help the poor.

"Lynn, come check this out! How many berries can we get for all this treasure?" Nami's attention had already shifted. She cared little for whether Bart was now ashes; what mattered to her were the piles of loot in the alien space.

Bart had gathered a large fortune over the years, not only in treasure but also in berries. Nami eagerly started counting the berries.

"I'm not sure," Lynn said, joining her. "But we'll need to pack everything up first, then trade it for berries when we get to Loguetown."

"Lynn, I'm rich! I can't believe I have more than five million berries!" Nami exclaimed, her eyes wide with disbelief.

Five million berries—an astronomical sum for her at this point.

"And there's still more treasure left to exchange for berries. No wonder so many people get into the slave trade!" Lynn added, shaking his head in disgust.

"Yeah, let's hurry back!" Nami said, practically jumping up and down.

Among the treasure, there were piles of gold and dazzling jewels, but none of that appealed to her as much as the cold, hard berries.

The two of them stepped through the space gate and reappeared in Loguetown in an instant.

Now with fresh energy and a lighter step, Lynn and Nami made their way through the bustling streets, their minds occupied with all the berries they now possessed.

"Nami, how about we hold off on exchanging the gold for berries and just trade in some of the jewels instead? We're not exactly short on berries now," Lynn suggested thoughtfully.

With so much wealth in their hands, it seemed wiser to keep the gold as an investment, maintaining its value.

"Alright, I'll trust you on this one!" Nami agreed, nodding with a smile. She was young but clever enough to understand the value of holding onto gold.

The two entered the World Bank in Loguetown, and after some haggling with the bank's clerk, Nami managed to exchange all the jewels for a hefty amount of berries.

In the end, they lost nothing. Nami might be young, but no one could pull the wool over her eyes when it came to berries!

They ended up with over eight million berries—a massive profit!

Lynn couldn't help but feel that Nami was the perfect travel partner. She had a sharp mind and was as eager as he was to make the most out of their adventures.

Once they were in a quiet corner, they stored the berries in the alien space for safekeeping, both sighing in relief.

"Hehehe~ Lynn, we've got a deal. You can only take half of what's in there," Nami said mischievously, rolling her eyes. "And you'd better keep your berries with me, or I'll worry you'll blow it all on something foolish!"

"Fine, fine, half is half," Lynn replied with a laugh. "But you better make sure I get some when I need it!"

Nami had a way of looking out for herself, but Lynn wasn't worried—he knew what he wanted to buy in Loguetown.

"Don't worry, I won't forget you," Nami said with a smirk. She gave him a playful pat on the back, looking every bit the big sister.

With that, the two of them set off toward the execution platform, their spirits high, ready for whatever came next.
