Vocabulary

Forms: Secondary school students are placed in groups called forms which they stayed in throughout secondary school. Forms were used for registration (attendance or head count). All academic studies were done in forms which were made up of students of similar academic abilities. The brightest kids were in the top form and the not so bright in the bottom form. There would be several levels of forms in between.

Form tutor: Another word for homeroom teacher. Students start their day at their form tutor's classroom for registration.
