Chapter 14 - Chapter 14 - Human and Nature

The leaders of their respective groups faced each other, neither fazed by the power of their adversary.

"Are you Adam, the concept of a human?"

"Indeed, you are correct. I have heard you are an insurmountable obstacle that i have to deal with. Is that so, Tapio the concept of nature?"

"You have heard correctly. Although I must say, it has been quite a while since a concept gave me such trouble as to have to fight myself."

"I see, I hope you didn't get rusty enough to be just an immovable mountain."

"I just hope you don't die to quickly, I want to make you pay for the caos you have brought to my otherwise balanced existence."

"Well, guess this is not gonna be your lucky day, as if anyone's gonna lose its gonna be you."

"I hope your bite is as good as your bark."

It was at this very moment that the very first attack of the fight was thrown.

 "Spring"

For a brief moment, plants were growing, vines grew from the ground and whipped at Adam.

whip, whip, whip

Adam dodged the many attacks and one by one cut the vines, unfortunately, more plants were growing around him, making the windows Adam had to escape thinner and thinner.

"How pitiful, you can't even hold out against my very first attack."

"I don't know what you are talking about, I can do this for eternity."

Adam suddenly cut through many vines, giving himself the opening he needed to attack Tapio.

 "Tsara, whip him up"

Tsara turned into a whip and started her attempts at hitting Tapio, unfortunately, Tapio's vines were protecting him from ever taking the hits directly.

 Whip, whip

Both Tsara in whip form and the many ines collided, sending the other on the opposite direction. Then Adam would be bombarded with vines again, use Tsara as a sword to cut the vines and whip until the whips went in different directions.

This same exchange happened many, many times.

 "Summer"

The temperature around Tapio went up but the bombardment of attacks did not stop for even a moment. Tapio was wearing down Adam's stamina little by little, but the exchanges continued.

Adam asked Tsara to switch form to different weapons in this exchange, as the spear was great to help with his mobility and Adam needed it if he wanted to keep on dodging the vines.

The forest was growing around Adam, giving Tapio the terrain advantage.

Adam sought to get a clean hit on Tapio and so he charged forwards, dodging the vines that came after him, but one grabbed his right foot when midair and slammed him to the ground.

 sigh

"Couldn't have gotten a softer landing, could I?"

Adam charged at Tapio this time without getting hit.

 "Tsara, become and axe, quick."

Adam swung Tsara with his target being the chest. But Tapio, with his quick reflexes, managed to block the hit with his arm. Swinging it against Adam and sending him flying.

"Interesting, I had never had even a scratch on this armor of mine, to think you managed to leave a scar. I guess you are not to be underestimated."

Adam, who had just been sent flying, replied in a mocking tone.

"You say that but you've not underestimated me since the beginning of our fight."

"Of course. Not only do I respect a battle but I also see you as a bringer of chaos, so I can't give you time to catch your breath."

 "Autumn"

The leaves on the trees were falling quickly, leaving the trees as nothing more than the trunks and the branches. The temperature dropped just as quickly as the leaves fell.

The autumn leaves started flying in all directions faster than bullets.

Adam barely dodged but managed to stand his ground and dodge when necessary. Tsara turned into a shield, knowing they had to focus their attention not on offence but defence.

Most of the leaves went against Tsara, but even the greatest of shields only covers one direction, so the leaves still managed to graze Adam.

Adam got close to a tree, but the branches all tried to skewer him. Making him have no choice but to touch the ground.

Right after landing, many roots broke through the ground underneath Adam.

"Now this is not the situation I want to be in, said Adam while leaping from branch to branch.

The leaves and branches were still hot on his tail, but just as Adam thought of a way to create an opening he heard the calm and almost wind-like voice of Tapio.

 "Winter"

The Temperature, already quite low, dropped even further. Adam was now starting to slow down as the cold had made his body not be as ready to keep fighting.

But nevertheless, Adam prevailed, he would not lose and the fight would not be over until Tapio was down

The dirt on the ground soon turned to mud, once again, Tapio made Adam's mobility become more and more limited.

Other than these changes Adam's situation hadn't changed all too much.

He decided that his plan to attack Tapio should remain unchanged. And so he kept on dodging attacks while going from branch to branch.

The more he dodged the farther away he was going, Tsara understood what Adam had decided to make of his next move and turned into a minigun.

 brrrrrrr

Adam was shooting bullets left and right, making sure that in between intervals of shooting leaves down he would shoot at Tapio, who just defended with a mud wall.

"This is annoying, no matter how many leaves I neutralize there are always more coming from a different direction."

"Well, maybe if we could do some more damage we could make a distraction and then try to hit him from up close. Tsara, do you think you can use a more powerful attack?"

"Of course I can. Just who do you think you're talking to?"

Tsara was smiling like a madwoman, although only in her mind as her now current form as a bazooka was unable to make any such expressions.

Adam pulled the trigger exactly two times.

The first shot was blocked by a mud wall, but the explosion destroyed the wall.

The second rocket had been fired in such a way that Tapio could not see it from his position, so it swiftly passed through the place where the mud wall was just a moment ago.

The rocket hit Tapio and, though it did not do much damage, blinded him for a long enough time for Adam go get another hit in with Tsara as an axe, leaving a mark on Tapio's left leg.

As swiftly as he'd gotten to Tapio, Adam repositioned himself to a better position.

All he knew was that he'd destroyed most of the forest Tapio had created and his opponent was not so careless as to just let him get away with an attack like that.

Next thing he knew, he'd heard Tapio talk in a more aggressive tone.

 "Spring..."
