The characteristic black and almost mercurial sky of the genesis remnant mountain cluster hung high above even it's tallest mountains and most dreadful creatures. The near lightlessness of the whole place, coupled with it's unpredictability and it's high level of danger was enough to instill as much fear in most of it's native creatures as would make them limit their activities to pursuing prioritized necessities. That unspoken rule was broken by the new arrivals-the Elts.
Elts were unusual creatures. even back in their home world, and without natural weapons like claws, fangs or naturally weaponize-able innate toxins, the Elts had managed to carve their place as the apex specie on the food chain using a combination of wits, their gregarious nature ,their innate ability to adapt to and adapt almost any environment , as well as their tendency to consciously or sub-consciously build on the gains of their predecessors. The earliest of the Elts specie back in their home world replaced the last item on that list with their determination to bend the environment to their will, and here, the newly arriving Elts , regardless of their skin colour , seemed to do the same .
Just few days after arriving in this place , a certain group of Elts went about hunting down any creature that could put up a fight in within a one kilometer radius of their base.
When Zen woke up in this strange and light less place,he felt as lost and confused as any one finding themselves in the same situation would be. He had taken a lot more time than he should have in coming to terms with the situation . In fact, during the first few days of his stay in this place,he almost died to the attack of a predatory creature native to the mountain cluster .
His fortunes took a turn for the better when he discovered the presence of other Elts. Originally as a strategist for the Allied resistance army back in his home world - a rebel army dedicated to challenging the authority of the central government that lorded over his home world as well as two others- he had taken the time to analyze his situation in depth as well as consider his chances of survival as well as the various factors affecting those chances. Using the results of his analysis, he drafted out a working plan for his survival which included, but was not limited to finding out if his induction into the current anomaly was a unique experience or if it also happened to other Elts from his world. The Elts he met with, were ones he was familiar with . In fact two out of three of them were co-members of the Allied Resistance Army- Ma'chil, one of the most ruthless generals of the Allied Resistance Army , Niel a close quarter combat specialist in the Allied Resistance Army alongside Niel's brother, Hin, the only non-member of the Allied resistance army. Hin, turned out to be more intelligent than they could ever give him credit for.
Like a very efficient machine , the synergy of their efforts was more rewarding than that of their isolated , individual efforts; His strategies made sure that they got more out of their efforts than they usually would, while also staying out of harms way as much as possible, Ma'chil's wealth of experience as a general ensured that they came out of every battle that could not be avoided victorious with or with as little bodily harm as possible , and so far , under his leadership , they had recorded no deaths. Niel was also there to handle the most dangerous close combat specialized beasts in most battles they fought.
It was Hin's very-out- of-box pattern of thinking however, that helped transformed their lives and fortunes . With his help and at his suggestions, they discovered what fragments were as well as an aspect beast which Ma'chil claimed.
Fragments, from what they discovered, were item which came in different shapes and forms, gave supernatural abilities and were categorized into different tiers. There was usually a chromatic mist that characterized the location of unclaimed fragments. The scale and intensity of these chromatic mists seemed to vary-as Zen theorized - with the tier of the fragments themselves. These fragments also had an allure to them that became difficult to ignore the higher in tier there were. There saw little progress made on other areas of their Hin-led research on other related things how many tiers fragments were categorized into , the power difference between each successive tiers of fragments and How many abilities each respective tier of fragments gave and what pet beasts were.
He himself had gotten a fragment that had to do with reflections and echoes and not in the normal sense of it. Instant Reflection, the first ability it granted him allowed him to reflect any ability thrown at him in any direction, and with roughly as much power as the original ability, once, and within a limited time frame, without being affected by the original ability. Recurring Echoes, the second ability it granted him, allowed him to reflect any ability that affected him as many times as possible with a decrease in their effect and intensity upon every reflection until the effect and power of the reflected ability becomes non-existent.Mirrored World, the third ability it granted him, enabled him to travel through the reflections on any reflective surface to any place being reflected by the said reflective surface. The last ability it granted him, Variable Interference, allowed him to negate any skill thrown at him once if he had been affected by that same skill before ,provided that the attack he was affected by and the one he wished to negate were roughly equal in power and intensity . It also allowed him to reflect any ability thrown at him with sixteen times more power than the ability thrown at him initially had .
Niel had gotten himself a fragment whose abilities had to do with disturbances. His first ability, Chaotic Maelstorm allowed him to manifest and control any element, or sets of elements he so wished so long as he does it with less precision and over a wider area range. His second ability, The Dictator Of The Chaos, allowed him to summon an intense and lethal upsurge of any element he so desires in a fairly long range around him and in any environment so long as the elements innate to the environment he summons it in are not in a natural state of balance . The damage his last ability , The Dictator of Chaos ,could cause moved up in scale from just being lethal to almost being apocalyptic the farther the elements innate to the environment he applied the ability to were from equilibrium.
Ma'chil was the odd one out . He did not have a fragment, yet he deliberately refused to acquire one even though he had several opportunities to. Rather, he poured all his effort into grooming the Aspect Beast he had acquired just days after they had created their team. This did not make him any less dangerous. In fact , Zen would place all his money on Ma'chil if asked who was the deadliest among the three of them. At one time , Zen himself had seen Ma'chil cause the death of a beast five levels higher than himself with nothing but a mere touch. His decision to not acquire any fragment cost him the ability of gaining levels . And though his connection to his aspect beasts had earned him some abilities , he rather chose bot to disclose any information about them.
With these abilities at their disposal,Zen changed the orientation of the group from being survival based to being domination based. Following his plans, they laid waste to every and any creature found in a radius of one kilometer around their chosen base of operations.
