"Hela!" The smile on Thor's face froze the moment he saw the figure appear. He never expected Hela to show up here!
Feeling the immense pressure she exerted, his previous nonchalance vanished. He could clearly sense how powerful his sister, the Goddess of Death, truly was.
On the ground, the brawling Steve and Tony stopped in their tracks as soon as they saw Hela. Their instincts screamed, and they immediately stopped fighting, their expressions grim as they stared at the Goddess of Death.
Although they had just been at each other's throats, when faced with an outside threat, they would always unite. Even Black Panther, who was burning with hatred for his father's killer, stopped pursuing Bucky and, like the others, fixed his gaze on Hela.
Under this oppressive fear of death, they all knew that now was not the time for an internal dispute. They slowly gathered together, confronting the Goddess of Death. Even Wanda's eyes filled with apprehension, as she clearly knew that this person was no ordinary foe.
"Hela, Asgard has no jurisdiction over Earth!" Tony stood a short distance away, gritting his teeth and glaring at Hela.
He didn't believe for a second that Thor's sister was here just to watch. He hadn't forgotten Odin's order to Thor, but he never expected to meet Hela here. Her sudden appearance here was not a good sign.
"Heh! You think I want to?" Hela sneered, turning to look at the tower behind her. "If it weren't for him, I wouldn't bother with your pitiful mess!"
She had no interest in these Midgardians. In her eyes, their strength was mediocre at best. As for her brother, Thor? She had never paid him any mind.
When Hela turned, the others instinctively followed her gaze. On a distant tower, a figure stood silhouetted against the sky. A faint black mist swirled around his face like dark flames. The moment they saw him, they were hit by an overwhelming sense of pressure. It was not just physical, but mental as well. Though the figure made no move, his casual stance made it difficult for them to breathe.
With just a glance, everyone recognized him.
"That's the guy from Orchard Beach," Tony's voice became incredibly serious. Even with his face shrouded in an indescribable black mist, the terrifying pressure made them certain this was the mysterious person.
This was their first time seeing him up close, and the closer they got, the more terrified they became.
Hela's appearance had already put them on high alert, but compared to the mysterious person, the danger she posed was less than a tenth. Their very DNA screamed at them to run!
They could feel that if this person wanted to, he could rip them all to shreds at any moment. The more they thought about it, the grimmer their expressions became. They didn't dare to make a single move, their eyes locked on the figure.
Only Wanda felt a wave of relief when she saw him. Cassius had actually come! She knew that with Cassius's presence, the fight would not continue. If he wanted to, he could easily control everyone there.
At the same time, a little excitement welled up inside her. Even from so far away, Cassius had come. That meant he truly cared about her.
But the next second, she noticed something was off. "Wait, why did Cassius bring the Goddess of Death, Hela?!"
She had heard Thor's story on the plane and never expected that this terrifying being had also been subjugated by Cassius. For some reason, a strange thought crossed her mind. Could it be that Cassius and the Goddess of Death also have a thing going on?
Meanwhile, on the tower, Cassius calmly looked down at the group.
"As expected, they were beating each other senseless."
He had seen the Avengers plotline, but the butterfly effect caused by his presence had made some major changes. The most obvious was that there was no Peter Parker in this world. Although Gwen Stacy existed, for some reason, she hadn't gotten involved in this battle.
He was also surprised that Thor had shown up here. But after thinking about it, he realized Odin had probably sent him to find the Goddess of Death.
"Hela, you are not allowed to be on Earth, no matter what!" Tony stared grimly at Hela, his intact left repulsor cannon charged and ready. If she didn't agree, they would have to fight.
Compared to Bucky, the safety of Earth was far more important. No one who came from Asgard was easy to deal with, and judging by the pressure she was giving off, Hela was incredibly powerful. They had all felt it from her simple appearance.
What's more, the mysterious person was behind her. Even though he was Wanda's boyfriend, they had no idea if he was an ally or an enemy. If he turned out to be their enemy, the consequences would be terrifying.
Bang!
Thor leapt forward, landing in front of everyone with enough force to crack the concrete. Mjolnir floated beside him. He grabbed the hammer and looked at Hela with a serious expression. "Hela, you escaped from your seal without permission. Father is very angry!"
"Heh? 'Father'?" Hela's calm expression turned furious at the word. "You poor, deluded little brother… you have no idea who you're talking to."
That damned Odin had kept her sealed for centuries! For hundreds of years, she had been on the verge of madness! If the Phoenix Force hadn't shown up and allowed her to break the seal, she didn't know how much longer she would have been stuck in that damned place.
"Father"? That word was a joke to her.
"Show some respect to Father! You may be my sister, but that doesn't mean I'll be polite!" Thor gripped Mjolnir, his eyes crackling with electricity. He hoped Hela would just follow him back to Asgard to await Odin's judgment. Even though her presence was terrifying, he wasn't afraid of her!
"A weakling like you thinks he can lecture me?" Hela's smile turned a little sinister. She scoffed and continued, "You're too weak. Tell that old man Odin to come deal with me himself."
Although they were both gods, she didn't even bat an eye at Thor. She simply looked at him calmly, her eyes filled with a mixture of amusement and mockery. He was just a pathetic weakling; she felt no emotional stirrings at all.
"Show some respect!" Thor, who was about to try to talk to her, became furious when he heard Hela insult Odin. He had always respected his father, but his sister was speaking to him like this.
"Respect? Spare me!" Hela let out a cold laugh and continued to taunt him. She had never thought of him as her father; he was just an old man who should have died long ago.
On the tower, Cassius's lips curled into a slight smile. He had to admit, sometimes changing the storyline was fun. This was the reason he brought Hela along. With Hela's power, she could easily crush the Avengers.
"As expected, the only way to get the Avengers to unite is to give them a common enemy."
Based on his understanding of the Avengers, these guys would only cooperate when faced with an external threat. As for what would happen next, he didn't want to get involved just yet.
With that thought, Cassius's smile widened. What could be more interesting than watching a show? It felt as though he was directing a movie and watching it all unfold before his eyes. It was a little evil, but he couldn't help but feel a sense of glee.
"This guy..." Wanda looked at Cassius, his hands in his pockets. Even without seeing his face, she knew he was watching everything unfold with a mocking expression. She shook her head helplessly, but she had to admit, this was a good plan. At least for now, everyone's attention was on Hela.
"Stop talking to that freak! Attack!" War Machine Rhodey's shoulder launchers rose, and two small missiles with fiery tails flew toward Hela.
With Rhodey's shout, everyone else moved as well.
Clint Barton quickly fired an arrow from his bow, which split into over a dozen arrows in mid-air.
Tony raised his left hand, firing his repulsor beam. At the same time, his back armor lifted, and more than a dozen small missiles flew toward Hela. He also pushed his body forward, preparing to follow up with a close-quarters attack.
Vision immediately flew into the air, the golden light on his forehead flashing as he fired a laser at her.
Black Widow Natasha ran to the side, pulling a pistol from her waist and continuously pulling the trigger.
In that instant, everyone unleashed their strongest ranged attacks. They knew that the Goddess of Death, Hela, was not as easy to deal with as she seemed.
"Is that all?" Hela's lips curled into a contemptuous smile.
With a swift wave of her right hand, a flash of dark green light erupted, and the explosives in the air detonated harmlessly.
With just a glance, the bullets and the arrows that were twisting in mid-air stopped and fell to the ground. At the same time, she pulled her left hand down, and the floating Vision was grabbed by an immense force and slammed directly into the hard concrete, with only his bald head left visible. Their strongest ranged attacks were all blocked in the blink of an eye.
"Eat this!" Steve ran forward and threw his shield at Hela. The rapidly spinning shield made a sharp whistling sound in the air. The next second, Hela caught the shield with her bare hand.
"A shield? This little toy is quite interesting!" Hela casually tossed the shield into the air and hooked her right index finger.
The shield flew back toward Steve at an even faster speed. It reached him in an instant, and Steve's pupils dilated. He gritted his teeth and reached out to catch the returning shield. But the moment he touched it, his eyes narrowed.
Bang!
The shield, along with Steve, was sent flying backward, slamming into a nearby container and leaving a huge dent.
Before Hela could turn her attention away, Tony came at her with his repulsor boots flaring. In mid-air, Tony spun around, the propulsion boosters on his hands and elbows accelerating his rotation. The armor on his hands transformed into black and red hammers!
A powerful punch slammed toward Hela's head. A look of excitement appeared on his face because he knew that at this distance, Hela couldn't dodge.
Boom!
Tony's eyes widened in terror, staring at the sight before him. His most powerful blow had been stopped by a dark green, membrane-like barrier.
Hela tilted her head slightly, a small smirk on her lips. In an instant, fear consumed Tony's heart as his instincts screamed a warning. Hela casually flicked her finger into the empty air.
[WARNING! ARMOR CRITICAL DAMAGE! 80% DAMAGE!] With just a single flick, Tony was sent crashing into the second floor of the airport terminal.
At this moment, Bucky and Natasha appeared on either side of Hela. Bucky swung his metal arm, aiming a powerful strike at Hela's abdomen, making the air crackle. On her left, Natasha pulled a dagger from her waist, did a forward roll, and quickly slashed at Hela's ankle.
It was a perfectly coordinated attack. At this moment, it would be difficult for their opponent to handle both attacks at once, and all possible escape routes had been blocked.
"So this is how you Midgardians fight..." Hela shook her head helplessly. Her left foot shot out like lightning, kicking Natasha's wrist.
At the same time, she waved her hand, and green energy wrapped around Natasha, sending her flying back dozens of feet. She rolled several times on the ground before she finally stopped.
The shiny silver dagger flew into the air, and Hela's left hand calmly aimed at Bucky on her right.
Crack... crack... crack... Bucky's face twisted in terror as he saw his metal arm collapsing. Not only that, but Hela's right hand shot out like lightning, grabbing the falling dagger. She casually stabbed it into Bucky's other shoulder and then kicked him away.
"Eat this!" Sam flew toward Hela like an arrow. The Redwing drones on his back fired red lasers. At some point, Black Panther had also appeared behind Hela and was about to put her in a chokehold. If Sam could seize this opportunity, he could seriously injure Hela.
But before Black Panther could touch Hela, he was suspended in mid-air and sent flying toward Sam. The surprise attack left Sam no time to dodge. He was sent crashing to the ground from a great height. Hela even grabbed the Redwing drone and threw it toward Barton.
In less than thirty seconds, most of the Avengers were lying on the ground.
"A bunch of weaklings." Hela contemptuously glanced at the group.
BOOM!
The sky suddenly turned dark and was filled with thunder and lightning.
"Try this!" Thor leaped into the air, the lightning from the sky coursing through him. With a powerful throw, Mjolnir, wrapped in lightning, flew toward Hela. As it passed, the lightning from the hammer cracked the ground.
When faced with this attack, Hela simply raised her hand out of curiosity.
Whumph!
Everyone froze!
Thor's eyes bulged!
How could anyone lift Mjolnir?!
They stared in disbelief at the scene before them.
Hela had caught Mjolnir with a single hand!
"He gave this to you? You're not worthy!" Hela said with a sneer, and with a slight twist of her right hand, countless bolts of lightning exploded from the hammer. Mjolnir trembled violently.
Crack... crack... crack... Countless cracks spread across Mjolnir. The next moment, it shattered, and countless bolts of lightning shot out from within.
BOOM!!!
The thunder was like the hammer's final, defiant wail!
