Chapter 47 - The Complete Chthon Scroll, Wanda's Innate Talent!

Wanda bringing up the suit was completely accidental. She had intended to put it away and wash it. A suit was a personal item, and she couldn't just give it to a maid to clean.

"What's wrong? You're not thinking about it again, are you?" Cassius hadn't expected Wanda to bring this up, especially right after he'd had Gwen take her suit home.

"No, no, no..." Wanda shook her head. There was no way she could think of such things right now; she could barely stand. But she had to admit, becoming Ghost-Spider was actually pretty fun.

"As for that suit, I already threw it away. If you like it, I can buy you another one." Cassius gave a mischievous grin.

"Who... who likes it?" Wanda struggled in Cassius's embrace. But the more she struggled, the more the "gun" at his waist pressed against her.

"If you didn't like it, why would you remember it so clearly~" Cassius's eyes lingered on Wanda's face.

Wanda, startled, jumped out of his arms. "It's you who likes it! Did you really see me as Ghost-Spider last night?!" Because of that suit, Cassius's fighting prowess had practically doubled. He had almost torn her apart.

"How could that be? You're slandering me! That's pure slander!" Cassius couldn't possibly admit it. He had definitely thought that way yesterday. Just knowing that Gwen was downstairs had made the excitement unbearable.

"Hmph..." Wanda scoffed, her slender finger gently poking Cassius's forehead. "You were so happy last night. I guess you really enjoyed yourself, huh...?"

"What do you think?" Cassius's face held a half-smile.

"If you keep this up, I'm not going to talk to you anymore!" Wanda sat on the chair with a pout. It was one thing for it to happen once or twice, but if he thought of her as Ghost-Spider every time, what did that make her? She wasn't a replacement.

"Alright, alright," Cassius soothed her. "I promise I'll never let you do that again."

"I'll forgive you this once." Wanda saw that he was genuinely apologetic.

"But you really need to work on your Chaos Magic." Cassius rubbed Wanda's head, his expression becoming serious.

The danger of Chaos Magic was too great. If she didn't train properly, she would lose control one day. Although her control had improved, it was still far from enough. Wanda's true power could affect reality itself, which was why he was so serious about it.

"Should I practice it the way you told me?" Wanda had actually been practicing whenever she wasn't with Cassius, but her progress wasn't significant. It was very difficult for her to smoothly influence reality. She couldn't do it the way she had when Cassius was training her. It was even a struggle to simply alter a few objects.

"No, you'll follow this book." Cassius shook his head and conjured a tanned leather scroll out of thin air.

Wanda's eyes widened. "How did you do that? I didn't feel any magical fluctuations at all. It's like the scroll was just there."

"It's a secret." Cassius grinned. "This is what you need to learn."

"What is this? What does it say?" Wanda frowned as she looked at the scroll. She couldn't understand the writing at all. The characters didn't seem to belong to this world.

"This is the Chthon Scroll. It's a perfect match for the Chaos Magic inside you!"

[The Chthon Scroll (2/2)]

Just yesterday, Cassius had acquired the complete Chthon Scroll.

The full scroll contained far more information than the Darkhold. The Darkhold was a copied version and was missing a large portion of the dark arts and necromancy. The difference between the two was significant, which was why the Chthon Scroll drew the attention of so many dark magic users. To them, it was a supreme artifact, and possessing it was like having the source of all dark magic.

However, the version he was giving Wanda had been modified by him. Many of the dark spells in it were not good for Wanda to practice. Chthon's spells were inherently deceptive, and practicing them would subtly intensify the dark side of the user's psyche. Over-practicing could even cause the user's soul to belong to Chthon.

But Cassius wasn't worried about that. After all, Wanda had Chaos Magic. Moreover, as long as he was there, he would never allow Chthon to succeed.

"Chthon Scroll?" Wanda had never heard the name before, and she could vaguely feel a sinister aura from the characters on the scroll. Looking at the countless squiggly lines made her feel dizzy, and she even felt a little drowsy.

"Don't worry, silly girl. I'll teach you." Cassius didn't laugh at her. He sat next to Wanda and spread the Chthon Scroll out on the table.

He was very aware of Wanda's past, which was spent living in war and on the run. It was a miracle she had even survived this long, let alone had a chance to study.

Furthermore, the Chthon Scroll was written in an ancient language that very few people could understand. This meant that even if a dark magic user stole the scroll, they wouldn't be able to learn anything quickly.

Just deciphering the ancient language was a difficult problem. Not everyone could master so many ancient languages. This hurdle alone stopped most people.

"I'm not silly!" Wanda's heart felt warm. Even though she didn't understand, Cassius was still taking the time to teach her. That alone was enough to move her. Besides, she could tell that he was doing this for her own good; otherwise, he wouldn't keep bringing up Chaos Magic.

"Come, look with me..."

"This section explains the origin and history of the Chthon Scroll."

"As for this part, it was fabricated by later generations and speaks of the 'God of the Ancient Past,' Chthon..."

Cassius opened the leather scroll and placed his finger on each line of ancient text, explaining it all.

Although this part had nothing to do with spells, it was extremely important because it instilled caution and fear of Chthon. This was still dark magic, and every time it was used, it would be influenced by Chthon. The more she was aware of this, the more careful she would be when using her Chaos Magic.

As Cassius explained, Wanda gradually became engrossed. His explanations were very detailed. He was able to explain the parts she didn't understand over and over again using different methods.

"Okay, I get this too..." As time went on, Wanda started by listening, but her gaze was gradually drawn to Cassius next to her.

She couldn't help but look at his handsome face. When he spoke, his voice had a unique magnetism. That gentle voice made Wanda fall deeper in love. She didn't even realize that she was falling deeper and deeper for Cassius.

The more you discover the mysteries of a person, the easier it is to fall for them.

She was completely mesmerized by the man in front of her. All women are attracted to power, and even though Wanda was already very powerful, she couldn't help but be drawn to Cassius. What's more, this was the man who had given her all her "firsts" in life.

"Little witch, what are you looking at?" Cassius noticed Wanda's distraction and gently flicked her forehead. "What's so interesting? Are there hidden secrets in it?"

"Nothing, I was just thinking about something else." Wanda cried out in pain, covering her forehead and looking at Cassius pitifully. She knew what was more important, but even so, she couldn't control her emotions.

"Thinking about something else? I see what you're thinking!" Cassius pinched Wanda's face and said with a huff, "If you don't listen, you'll have to be punished!"

He didn't want to have to fight Chthon one day for no reason. This was very important to Wanda, or he wouldn't have gone to the trouble of picking out a specific set of spells just for her to train with.

"I didn't do it on purpose! And I'm looking now!" Wanda smacked Cassius's hand away, her flushed face full of indignation as she retorted. She quickly shifted her gaze back to the book, but the images in her mind weren't the knowledge on the page. It was Cassius's face and all the things they had done together.

Sometimes, after falling in love with someone, no matter what you're doing, you'll think of that person. Even though she was trying her best to control her emotions, it wasn't working.

He could cook, he was powerful, handsome, and even his strength was immeasurable. She still hadn't figured out his true power.

Not only that, but more importantly, his "waist" was as strong as Vibranium.

He had endless power and energy.

The more she thought about it, the more her mind became muddled, and she felt like she was being "filled up." It wasn't knowledge that was filling her mind, but something else entirely.

"Little witch, focus!" Cassius looked at the dreamy gaze in her eyes, and his mouth twitched slightly. He was beginning to wonder if he had overdone it. He felt like he was seeing hearts in her eyes. Her gaze was floating all over his body.

"Oh... oh!" Wanda snapped back to reality after hearing Cassius's gentle scolding. She quickly corrected her posture, tore her eyes away from him, and refocused on the leather scroll.

"Wanda, you have to remember that your biggest advantage is your Chaos Magic."

"So you must develop your advantage to its fullest! Because spells are just a crutch for you, you're not meant to practice the Chthon Scroll, but to master Chaos Magic itself." Cassius met Wanda's gaze and said with a serious tone.

For Wanda, the main purpose of a spell was to help her control her Chaos Magic. The power of Chaos Magic was terrifying. Being able to affect reality was the equivalent of being an unstoppable force.

For example, when she went berserk and took over her parallel self, she tore the entire Avengers apart. This showed the terrifying power of Chaos Magic.

"Is that really what it is?" A thoughtful look appeared on Wanda's face. Although she had seen how terrifying her power was, she didn't have a clear understanding of it. She just knew that it made her more powerful.

She mostly used an external force to attack her enemies. If it wasn't for Cassius, she wouldn't have even known how to alter other things through manipulation.

"Yes. The only way to be truly powerful is to strengthen the Chaos Magic inside you. The Chthon Scroll is just a tool to help you." Cassius knew that at this point, Wanda had no idea how terrifying her power was. It was one of the three ancient magics, and none of them were weak. Its power was terrifying throughout the entire universe, and even the multiverse.

It was not an exaggeration to say that Wanda could easily tear Thanos apart. If she could master it to its fullest potential, breaking through the single universe would only be a matter of time.

"Okay, I understand!" Wanda nodded solemnly.

She was incredibly amazed. Cassius knew so much. He knew everything about things that had nothing to do with him. He was like a walking encyclopedia; nothing could escape his notice. He even knew more about her Chaos Magic than she did.

"So you must be serious. Of course, if you want to be 'rewarded,' I can give you a reward after you've learned!" Cassius's mouth curled into a slight grin at that moment, teasing her.

"You're... a really bad person!" Wanda looked at his sudden change of expression and gently punched his arm.

"Come on, let's continue. The next thing I need to teach you is the meaning of the words." Cassius rubbed Wanda's head and continued to explain the other contents of the leather scroll.

He understood the principle of "haste makes waste," so this time, he was only teaching her a few simple spells. With Wanda's talent, this was not a problem at all. After only a few lessons, she had already learned the meaning of the spells.

Boom!

Wanda, sitting cross-legged on the chair, slowly opened her eyes. A scarlet glow flashed in her pupils. A layer of flowing scarlet light covered her fair skin, making her already enchanting figure even more captivating.

Wanda muttered a spell and looked at the three potted plants.

Swoosh!

A scarlet light flashed.

Hum!

The flowers in the pot were instantly wrapped in a scarlet light. With the red light's embrace, the plants began to grow at an incredible speed. The potted plants, once full of flowers, started to twist and become grotesque, like vines rapidly spreading around them.

In just the blink of an eye, the plants were covered in black thorns, and the once-green leaves turned a dark gray. The spreading vines tightly bound the other potted plants around them. The growing thorns seemed to have a life of their own and began to devour the life force of the other potted plants.

"Excellent, you've learned it!" Seeing this, Cassius didn't hesitate to applaud her.

"That's because you're a great teacher!" Wanda hugged Cassius and gave him a light kiss on the cheek. "That's your reward!"

"That's not enough of a reward." Cassius lightly poked Wanda's lips with his finger. "And you kissed the wrong place!"

"No! I'm tired now!" Wanda knew what Cassius was thinking.

"Then what should we do?" Cassius could tell that Wanda had something else in mind.

"I want to go out with you tonight." Wanda leaned in and whispered in Cassius's ear, "When we get back tonight, I'll give you a big surprise."

"What?" Cassius's ear tickled from her breath. He wanted to pin her down and have his way with her right there. But he had to hold back, thinking about the surprise tonight. He pinched the witch's cheek. "You promise, don't lie to me."

"Mmm, I promise." Wanda opened the Chthon Scroll and seriously started to look at the contents. "I'm going to continue studying. Don't bother me."

"I'll be in the backyard. If you get lonely, come find me." Cassius squeezed Wanda one last time.

Looking at Cassius as he left, Wanda's mouth twitched. How could this guy say such shameless things all the time?!
