Chapter 46 - Cassius's "Intense Work," and Gwen's Love for Heather Scent!

"Forget it. If I go up there, I'll probably disturb them." After much deliberation, Gwen suppressed her curiosity. What if her interruption caused a problem with the business deal? She wouldn't even know how to apologize.

After all, it wasn't a small amount of money. Even offering herself wouldn't be enough to compensate. So, in the end, she decided not to go upstairs and bother them.

"They must be arguing pretty intensely, or it wouldn't be so loud!" Listening to the creaking sounds from upstairs, Gwen suddenly realized that doing business was really difficult. It seemed that even an all-around talented person like Cassius had to put in a lot of effort.

Just working late into the night was something many people couldn't do. They were even making the furniture shake; they must have been very excited. She could even hear the sounds moving from one part of the room to another.

"It must be a furniture business." Gwen's mind fantasized about Cassius and his partner testing the durability of furniture. That was the only thing that could explain why they were testing the table one minute, the bed the next, and then the chair. This was the only possible reason.

And from the sounds, it seemed to be taking a lot of effort; she could even hear them breathing heavily. She didn't know how long it was before Gwen, lying on the bed, finally drifted off to sleep.

The next morning, Gwen was sleeping soundly on her side. It had been a long time since she had slept so comfortably. Even though Cassius wasn't there, she knew he was just upstairs.

As long as he was nearby, she felt an endless sense of security. She even had a little drool on the corner of her mouth, a happy smile on her face.

Knock, knock, knock...

There was a knock on the door. Gwen groggily got up and shuffled over to open it. Standing outside was Cassius.

"Mr. Cassius, why are you up so early?" Gwen rubbed her eyes, her hair a mess. She looked absolutely adorable.

"Early?" Cassius looked at the dark circles under Gwen's eyes and asked with a puzzled expression, "Did you stay up all night? Why do you have dark circles?"

"Yeah, I had a little trouble sleeping. You were a bit loud last night talking to the furniture merchant," Gwen said sleepily, blurting out what was on her mind. Then she quickly added, "But it's okay. I know you had a business deal to discuss."

"Furniture merchant?" Cassius was stunned, almost unable to react. He hadn't slept all night. He had been working hard to get some returns on his "investment."

"Wasn't it a furniture merchant? I heard you testing the furniture upstairs." Gwen nodded seriously. After all, she had thought about it for a long time before she confirmed the person's identity. If it wasn't a furniture merchant, there would be no need to test the durability of the furniture.

"Right, right, right." Cassius instantly realized that the soundproofing of the house was much worse than he had imagined. "Next time, I'll get you a better room!" He could only nod along and play it off. He couldn't possibly tell Gwen what had actually happened.

"Your room seems pretty nice, though..." Gwen muttered under her breath, a hint of dissatisfaction in her voice. If she could just hug him like her plush teddy bear, she would be able to sleep peacefully.

"What did you say?" Although he was supernaturally strong, Cassius was a little dazed from the night's events and hadn't heard her clearly.

"Nothing!" Gwen shook her head, her face turning red. She wanted to pinch herself. She kept getting distracted and saying what she was thinking out loud.

"I'll go get ready. Do you want to eat breakfast together?" Gwen moved a little closer to Cassius and gently tugged on his shirt. Even after just one night, she wanted to be with him all the time. She was also worried that he would be busy with business again today. If he was, there was nothing she could do.

"I've already made it." Cassius smiled and ruffled Gwen's hair. After all, he had used all his energy last night. He had used his immense strength to make Wanda pass out, and she wouldn't wake up anytime soon. So he took the opportunity to quickly make breakfast.

"Really?" Gwen's eyes widened. She had assumed Cassius wouldn't have time to make breakfast. After all, he had been discussing business with someone so late last night. How could he have time?

"Yeah, go get ready." Cassius's mouth curled into a smile.

"Yay!" Gwen jumped up and down excitedly. She couldn't believe that Cassius cared about her so much. She knew that for a successful person like him, time was money!

In the dining room, a dozen different dishes were laid out on the marble table. The aroma of the dishes filled the air, and the entire room was surrounded by various scents.

"Wow! This is the breakfast you made?" Gwen, looking at the dazzling array of food, couldn't help but hug Cassius and kiss him on the cheek. She really hadn't expected him to be able to make so many different dishes. This looked so much better than the last restaurant they went to.

"Come on." Cassius pulled out a chair for Gwen. "It's a mix of different breakfasts from different countries."

For him, making a table full of dishes was not a problem at all. Especially with magic, he could control several pots at once. He could also chop vegetables and knead dough at the same time, making him an all-around talent.

Gwen was even more smitten with Cassius's gentlemanly behavior. For a young girl, details were everything. Even an unconscious gesture could show his gentlemanly character. This made her score for him go through the roof. She had already thought he was amazing, but he had far exceeded her expectations.

"This little bun is so delicious!"

"This golden stick is also very good!"

"Is this milky white drink soy milk?" Gwen tasted every dish on the table. With every bite, her taste buds tingled.

"Whichever woman ends up with you will never want to leave you! My stomach is already in love!" Gwen said, rubbing her full belly with an envious expression.

There were so few guys who would actively make breakfast where she came from. Most of them would just eat cereal or a sandwich instead. This was the first time she had ever had such a sumptuous breakfast.

"The stomach isn't the only thing that's taken care of when you're with me." Cassius said with a smile, his mind adding, 'Because breakfast can't warm you up like I can!'

The two of them spent a wonderful morning together. Gwen ate all the food on the table. Even though she was stuffed, she said with a smile, "I want to come here for breakfast every day from now on!"

"As long as you want to, I can make it for you every day." Cassius looked at his watch and said, "Don't you have to go to school today?"

"Oh yeah! I'm going to be late!" Gwen looked at the clock on the wall and almost jumped up. "It's almost eight o'clock!"

Although she was a freshman, she didn't have to go to classes. But she was a well-known good girl and a good student. The only time she would skip class was if she ran into a big problem that the police couldn't solve.

"No need to rush. I'll get you there quickly." Cassius said with a smile. With the Inter-Dimensional Portal, everything was so much more convenient.

"Oh, by the way, where's my suit?" Just as Gwen was about to leave, she suddenly remembered this. After all, she had asked Cassius to wash it for her after she took it off yesterday.

"Oh, your suit... hold on..." Cassius's mouth twitched, his expression a little awkward. He walked quickly upstairs. When he came back down, he was holding Gwen's Ghost-Spider suit.

"Huh?" When Gwen took the suit, her eyes widened, and her expression froze. "What happened to this?" She had noticed that there was a big hole in the crotch area of the Ghost-Spider suit.

"Emmm..." Cassius rubbed his chin and hesitated for a long time. "The washing machine must have had too much power." He hadn't noticed these details when he was playing around yesterday. So after a whole night of use, the suit was still in surprisingly good condition.

"Okay." Gwen pouted and took the suit. But at that moment, her nose twitched. "Why does my Ghost-Spider suit smell a little weird?"

"Weird?" Cassius's expression became incredibly strange. He hadn't thrown the suit out to be washed. The only reason it was dry was because of Wanda's body heat, which had dried the suit. So if there was a smell, it could only be...

"Mr. Cassius, I didn't know your laundry detergent was heather-scented." Gwen had figured out what the smell was and frowned. "The smell is a little too niche." She didn't know if this was a wealthy person's taste, so she was a little confused.

"Oh, right. I'll change the scent next time." Cassius's expression was awkward.

"You don't have to." Gwen took another sniff, a youthful smile on her face. "It's fine. It's a new experience to try a new scent once in a while."

"Uh..." Cassius let out a long sigh, his expression complicated. "If you don't like the scent, you can wash it again when you get back."

Just then, Gwen's eyes caught the clock on the wall. "Oh no, I'm going to be late!"

Creak, creak, creak...

"Go to class first. I'll come find you later when I have time!" Just then, Cassius's sharp ears picked up the sound coming from upstairs, and he waved his right hand. A golden light appeared, and an Inter-Dimensional Portal instantly appeared in front of Gwen.

"I'm leaving then!" Gwen smiled and nodded, stepping into the Inter-Dimensional Portal. Before she went in, she didn't forget to turn around and wave goodbye to Cassius.

"..." After the Inter-Dimensional Portal disappeared, Cassius finally relaxed.

"Cassius, what smells so good?" Wanda, leaning on the stairs, shuffled down one step at a time. It was the first time she had smelled something so delicious.

"Breakfast that I just made a little while ago." Cassius turned around, tidied his clothes, and said with a smile.

"Breakfast?!" Wanda was a little surprised. She really hadn't expected Cassius to know how to make breakfast. He had never mentioned it before, so she was a little shocked to find out now. In her eyes, a rich kid like Cassius should be similar to Tony.

"Yes, and it's specially prepared for you!" Cassius said proudly, nodding.

"Ah!" Just then, Wanda gritted her teeth in pain and let out a cold grunt.

"What's wrong?" Cassius rushed forward to help her. He had already noticed Wanda's strange way of walking.

"And you have the nerve to ask! This is all your fault!" Wanda bit her lower lip and twisted Cassius's waist with a resentful look.

She didn't know what had gotten into him last night that he had gotten so excited. All she had done was put on the Ghost-Spider suit, but he had been acting like he was the one who had to increase his "fighting prowess." She hadn't been able to breathe properly all night. She had even been woken up by the pain this morning.

"Your body is still a little weak. You can't make me happy like this." Cassius smirked and wrapped his arms around Wanda's slender waist, carefully helping her walk downstairs. After all, his "fighting prowess" was not a joke.

"Who said they could make you happy! You're just a horrible pervert!" Wanda rolled her eyes in annoyance. Her body was already much stronger than the average person. To say that her body couldn't keep up was a huge exaggeration.

"You can definitely do it. I'll help you with that later." Cassius's mouth curled into a smile, his voice full of mischief. "Have you ever heard of strengthening what's weak by eating something similar?"

When Wanda heard this, she instantly remembered Cassius's teasing during their last breakfast together.

"No way! You're a really bad person!" Wanda shook her head without any hesitation.

With Cassius's help, Wanda finally made it to the dining table and sat down.

"Huh, what are these other dishes and forks for?" Just then, Wanda noticed the leftover utensils on the table. And from the marks on them, it looked like they had just been used.

When he heard this, Cassius's mind went blank. He had been in such a rush that he had forgotten to put away the utensils Gwen had used.

"This... these were for me to taste the dishes while I was cooking." In this moment of crisis, Cassius had a flash of inspiration and quickly explained.

"Oh." Wanda heard this and casually picked up the utensil.

"Let me get you a new set." Seeing Wanda pick up the fork, Cassius's expression became very strange.

"No need. I don't mind that you used them anyway." Wanda waved her hand, not paying any attention to it. After all, they had already done what needed to be done, so using a used utensil was no big deal.

Besides, Cassius had said it was for him to taste the dishes. The energy she had expended last night was too much. She was so hungry that her stomach was practically stuck to her back. She couldn't care less about anything else and started to eat heartily.

"Mmm, this is good. You could open a five-star restaurant and be the head chef!" Wanda tasted the delicious food Cassius had made with his own hands and couldn't help but sigh in admiration. It was so much better than she had imagined. She had eaten many good things, but they were not on the same level as what Cassius had made.

"If it's good, eat more." Cassius sat down next to Wanda.

"Why aren't you eating?" Wanda noticed that Cassius was just sitting there and asked with a puzzled expression.

"I'm fine." Cassius's mouth twitched. He and Gwen had just been sharing bites. That's why there was only one bowl. He was already stuffed and couldn't eat anymore.

"No way. It's bad for your health to skip breakfast!" Wanda, without a word, forked a fried bun and held it out to Cassius. "And it's a waste not to finish it."

Facing Wanda's attempt to feed him, Cassius's face turned pale. In the end, he gritted his teeth, took a deep breath, and ate it. As time went on, Cassius felt the food rising in his throat before Wanda finally let him go.

After she finished eating, Wanda leaned back in her chair, and something suddenly came to mind.

"Oh, by the way, Cassius, where's that Ghost-Spider suit?"

"I couldn't find it when I woke up."
