Chapter 33 - (Chapter-20) The Demon's Wrath

The grand hall was alive with music and laughter, the golden chandeliers above shimmering like captured stardust. Nobles, dressed in extravagant attire, moved about in graceful motions, their conversations blending into a soft murmur that filled the air.

Just as the last threads of thought lingered in my mind, my Master's voice cut through them—clear and commanding, though no lips had moved. "I sense the presence of a supreme being," he spoke telepathically, his words echoing directly into my consciousness like a bell struck in silence. I turned to him in shock. A Supreme creature? Here? The very idea sent a shiver down my spine.

I barely had time to process his words before I nodded. "Okay." I looked toward my familiar, Aur – Aurora nickname, who was curled up near Elvina and my Mom. Her small, kitten-like form blended effortlessly with the luxurious silks and soft cushions of the grand hall, but the moment she heard my voice in her head, she perked up. 'We have to go, Aur.' Her crimson eyes flickered with intelligence, 'Hmm, I am coming.' With an effortless leap, Aur escaped Elvina's sight and landed on my shoulder. I took one last glance at the hall, scanning for anyone who might be watching us. My eyes met Elara's emerald gaze. She was watching me, unblinking. For a moment, neither of us moved.

Then, ignoring her piercing stare, I turned and continued toward the staircase leading to the ground floor. Master and I stopped at a shadowed corner, ensuring no one could see us. Then, with a flick of his fingers, Master opened a portal. The shimmering gateway swirled before us, revealing a night-cloaked cityscape. Without hesitation, we stepped through, landing atop the rooftop of a house.

I exhaled sharply. The air here was different, thick and heavy. The streets below us were eerily quiet—too quiet for the bustling capital. Then, an explosion ripped through the night. A thunderous roar shook the city, followed by a fiery blast that lit up the sky. The impact sent shockwaves through the buildings, glass shattering as terrified screams erupted from the streets below. A second later, the acrid scent of burning wood and charred flesh filled the air. The market district was in flames. Civilians ran for their lives, their figures illuminated by the raging infernos. Shops crumbled, merchant stalls turned to ash, and the once-lively streets became a graveyard of destruction. And at the heart of the chaos…

A Demon stood. A pure-red figure, towering over the battlefield, its skin pulsating with an eerie glow. Its frame was massive, its very presence an unnatural stain upon the world. But the most horrifying feature? It had four arms—two on each side, muscles coiling like living steel. Dark runes etched into its flesh glowed with demonic energy, and when it turned, its abyssal eyes met mine.

A wave of pressure crushed everything in its path. The ground splintered beneath its feet, and nearby buildings collapsed under the sheer force of its presence. Screams filled the streets and soldiers froze in terror. And yet… we did not move. Master's golden eyes gleamed with interest. "Well, now the Supreme creature's presence is gone. It seems this is its doing. It summoned a third-tier demon."

I clenched my fists, feeling powerless as the chaos unfolded before me. But we weren't the only ones to arrive at the scene. Two figures descended from the sky, robes billowing like storm clouds. They wore deep blue garments adorned with a Phoenix insignia—the mark of Ester Academy's Instructor Mages. One was an elderly man, his long silver hair flowing behind him, his staff crackling with blue mana. His deep-set eyes glowed with a power that rivaled the ocean beneath the moonlight.

Beside him stood a fiery-haired woman, her arms wreathed in flames, the mana swirling between gravity and fire. "Stand down, demon." The older mage's voice carried unwavering authority. But the demon did not falter. Instead, it turned toward them, its gaze empty, unreadable. And then, in an instant—

The Water Mage struck first. With a mere flick of his wrist, a colossal wave surged from thin air, roaring toward the demon like a raging storm. The impact should have crushed anything in its path. But the demon reacted instantly. Two of its four arms shot forward, colliding with the wave with terrifying force. The water exploded outward, sending debris flying as the demon stood, unscathed.

Before it could retaliate, the Gravity & Fire Mage lifted her hand. The air itself twisted. The demon's body slowed, dragged down by an overwhelming gravitational force. Then—

Flames rained from the sky. A firestorm engulfed the demon, turning the entire battlefield into an inferno. For a moment, I thought the fight was already over. But then—

BOOM!

A shockwave tore through the inferno. The flames dispersed. The demon stood unharmed. Then it moved faster than something of its size should be capable of. Its four arms lashed out, striking with the force of a natural disaster. The mages barely dodged in time. Just as the demon's fists were about to connect—

Two blades intercepted. Two high-ranking aura swordsmen from the Swordsman Academy had arrived. Their swords pulsed with refined aura, their movements too fast. They clashed with the demon head-on, deflecting its blows with inhuman precision. The battle turned into a whirlwind of destruction. The Water Mage continued launching torrents of water, freezing and restraining where he could.

The Gravity & Fire Mage twisted space itself, distorting the demon's balance while unleashing Fire. The two swordsmen fought up close, their weapons glowing with dense aura, deflecting blows that could shatter boulders. But the demon adapted.

It caught one swordsman off guard, sending him flying through a wall. It unleashed a pulse of dark energy, shattering ice and dispersing water. It lunged forward, its four arms moving in a synchronized dance of death. The fight turned brutal. Each side struggled, countered, and adapted. The capital trembled with each collision. The night was illuminated by magic and aura.

...

...

I watched from the rooftop, my heart pounding. I wanted to jump in, to fight, to test my strength. But I didn't. Master glanced at me, a smirk playing on his lips. "Feeling tempted?" I clenched my fists. Then, slowly, I shook my head. His smirk widened, "Good, Remember, Rayon—sometimes the greatest advantage is knowing when not to act." I exhaled, forcing myself to calm down. And then—

A final explosion rocked the capital. The combined power of the mages and swordsmen overwhelmed the demon.

BOOM!

The demon let out a final, ear-piercing shriek before its body was torn apart. And just like that. It was over. As the city reeled from the devastation, Master, Aur, and I turned away, disappearing into the night. No one noticed. No one saw us leave and as we stepped through the portal, returning to the where we were before. It was as if we had never left. Then the rest of party ended after sometime and after that we returned to manor
