Chapter 42 - Chapter 41: The Daughter of Odin, Hela the Goddess of Death

On Earth, political leaders from around the world convened to address the six hours of darkness. The meeting was led by the hegemonic empire of the United States. In response, Long Guo, a powerful nation, withdrew from the discussion and condemned the US's speech for its disregard for human safety.

Meanwhile, the S.H.I.E.L.D Council immediately dispatched all its agents to investigate the incident. The Security Council authorized S.H.I.E.L.D. to personally handle the situation if it was discovered to be an act by a powerful psychic. The resolution declared that anyone who threatens the safety of humankind would be considered an enemy of the entire world.

At the same time, in Long Guo, a middle-aged man named Zheng Xian began to secretly establish a special organization under the direction of the government. The organization was tentatively named the Divine Spear Bureau, a name derived from the traditional proverb: "Use my spear to attack the other's shield!"

Meanwhile, Aaron was completely uninterested in the affairs of the humans on Earth. He was far more pleased that he had found a girl with the fate of Pandora and that the Pluto sword had been recovered. The girl, along with Minos, had returned with Aaron to Hell's Kitchen.

"Master," Minos asked, "Dalamandis and I have recovered, but why haven't there been any signs of the hero Aiagos yet?"

Aaron shook his head, admitting that he hadn't figured out how the magic stars were able to deceive the world and invade it. However, he knew that the three leaders of the group should have awakened by now.

Hellheim.

This is the land where the spirits of the Nine Realms reside, a place commanded by Princess Hela, the daughter of the God King Odin, who is known as the Goddess of Death and War. A man in a black robe with a five-pointed star-shaped halo between his brows walked through this land of the dead. He didn't seem to pose a threat, but an arrogant and rebellious smile was on his face. No one knew what he was thinking.

At that moment, in Asgard, Heimdall, who guarded the Bifrost, was pierced in the chest by a sword. Though it missed his heart, he was still unable to use his power.

"Enemy! An attack!" Heimdall cried as he sounded the alarm before closing his eyes.

Suddenly, an endless darkness enveloped the top of Asgard. Black clouds gathered, and within them, giant beasts seemed to be crashing through. On the ground, countless Death Knights and skeleton soldiers poured in from the Bifrost.

The alarm rang out across Asgard. "This is not good! We're under attack!"

God King Odin had been in a deep sleep for a thousand years, and the gods of Asgard hadn't dared to expand their territories. Now, the known universe saw Asgard as a lamb waiting to be slaughtered, a place anyone could easily invade.

"Who are you to dare invade my Asgard?" shouted Thor, the arrogant and rebellious God of Thunder. He grabbed his hammer and charged into the black clouds.

Within the clouds, a vicious dog roared and lunged at Thor. A black door appeared behind the clouds, and a woman in green armor emerged, holding a pitch-black Night-sky sword.

Thor's hammer charged up and flew at her, but she didn't care about its power. Instead, she caught the hammer with one hand. "Are you Odin's son?" she asked in a cold, disdainful voice. With a powerful force, she sent Thor flying out of the clouds.

In Asgard, Queen Frigga, who was waiting beside Odin, gazed at the darkness above with a feeling of dread. "Ragnarok has come!" she said.

On the Bifrost, a woman in dark green armor with a spider-like crown on her head was battling the gods. The waves created by giant wolves did not recede under the attacks of the Valkyrie and the forces of Soul Castle. The powerful goddess was evenly matched with Thor, and in many ways, she completely suppressed his attacks.

"My love, Hela is back, and the prophecy in your dream has begun to come true!"

Hela was the first princess of Asgard. Before Thor was born, Odin had originally planned to make Hela his successor. But Odin, a patriarchal king, forgot his promise to his daughter. He married the current Queen Frigga and had a son, Thor.

However, an ancient Asgardian prophecy foretold that after Odin usurped the throne by demoting his brother to the mortal world, his own flesh and blood would return with endless resentment. War would sweep across the Nine Realms, engulfing all of Asgard. The prophecy foretold that a giant wolf would kill a great god, a great serpent would swallow Thor, and then a mighty god would kill the serpent.

In this timeline, there was no great serpent, but Ragnarok's prophecy was the scene Odin feared the most. Now, at the hands of his own flesh and blood, Hela, it was about to come true.

"Odin, do you see? This is your prophecy!"
