Chapter 3 - Finding My Squad

I wasn't part of any squad before, so I thought it would be better to have one

somewhere I could proudly say, "That's my squad." So, when Dawlay sent me a friend request, I accepted it without hesitation.

Since then, I started to see him as our squad leader. We talked often during games and played scrims together. One day, he messaged me, "Hey, consider me your friend

and my friends too! Don't be shy." At first, I was hesitant to talk much or even join their games, but bit by bit, I got comfortable. They were older than me, but they treated me like an equal, and that made me feel special.

Dawlay was always encouraging, texting, "Come on, let's play! Don't keep the squad waiting!" So, I played with them as much as I could. This routine went on again and again, and I barely noticed how quickly my vacation was slipping away.

One evening, the thought hit me. I wanted to tell them, "I'm going to delete all my games and social media soon." I was serious about focusing on my studies. But then, I hesitated. Something inside me stopped me from sending that message. Instead, I thought, Why not try to improve my gameplay? Maybe I can help the squad be the best. I knew deep down it was a long shot, but it gave me hope.

When I finally told Dawlay, "I'm thinking about deleting all my games and social apps," he replied quickly, "You can manage your time, I'm sure! But if you really want to, I understand." After a little while, he added, "Good luck with your studies, okay?"

Truth be told, I never deleted the games. I kept playing and chatting with them maybe that was silly of me. Hehe, I did something stupid, but I couldn't stop.

Our chats became longer and deeper each day. One night, after a long gaming session, Dawlay said, "I really like talking to you. You're different from anyone else I know." My heart skipped a beat. I wanted to say the same, but I was scared. Yet, I couldn't hide my feelings forever.

We stayed up playing games until dawn, laughing and sharing stories. That connection pulled us closer and closer. I tried to stay focused on my goals, telling myself I didn't want to fall for anyone not now. But he won my heart anyway, and I couldn't resist

Even though he was busy with his own studies, Dawlay always found ways to make me smile and support me. "Don't worry, I've got your back," he'd say. That made me fall for him even harder.
