Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: A Mutated Martial Soul and Innate Full Soul Power

Inside the six-pointed star formation, Zhu Ziyang extended his right hand. A faint radiance of light slowly gathered and emerged.

His palm turned upward, and in the next instant, a beam of white light flickered—then a white scythe appeared in his hand, glowing with a sacred brilliance. It was a symbol of light.

Staring at the scythe in his palm, Zhu Ziyang was momentarily stunned.

The moment the scythe appeared, Zhu Changhe let out a deep breath of relief. A wide smile broke across his face—the seventh generation of the Zhu family had successfully inherited their Martial Soul. Although Liang Ying was slightly disappointed, she was still genuinely happy. Even though their son hadn't awakened her Martial Soul, as long as he could become a Soul Master, that was enough. While the Zhu family's Martial Soul wasn't anything extraordinary, every generation had consistently awakened with three or four levels of innate soul power. It was incredibly stable.

"Wow, so that's a Martial Soul?"

"Brother Yang's Martial Soul is a scythe. It looks so cool!"

"I wonder what my Martial Soul will be…"

"I'm so nervous!"

The children were excited, chattering among themselves after witnessing Zhu Ziyang's awakening.

But none of that mattered to Zhu Ziyang. At the moment, all his attention was fixed on the Martial Soul in his hand—a pure white scythe. It wasn't the type used for farming, but a battle scythe designed for combat.

The long handle gleamed like silver, cast in pure white. Its surface was engraved with broken, indistinct patterns. The scythe's blade was wide near the base but tapered as it approached the tip. The very end featured a blood-grooved spike, designed for thrusting. The blade itself gleamed with a dazzling brilliance. The rear of the blade was shaped like a circular secondary blade, balancing the weapon and capable of offense as well. The handle passed through the center of both blades, seamlessly integrating them into one cohesive structure. At the top of the handle was a sharpened point resembling a spearhead, carved with a pale skull—eerie in appearance.

Overall, it was a standard war scythe, but the intense aura of light it radiated made it anything but ordinary.

This was his Martial Soul—the Radiant Scythe.

Information about the Martial Soul surfaced in Zhu Ziyang's mind.

Radiant Scythe—a mutated version of the Dusklight Scythe. Just one word's difference, but it marked the gap between a high-grade Martial Soul and a common one.

It was obvious that the Radiant Scythe was a high-grade Martial Soul of the light element.

While the Zhu family's Dusklight Scythe contained trace amounts of light energy, it was too faint to be considered complete. In contrast, Zhu Ziyang's Radiant Scythe possessed a fully developed light attribute. According to elemental affinity theory, the Dusklight Scythe's light affinity was less than ten, while the Radiant Scythe's was clearly over thirty—qualifying it as a true elemental Martial Soul.

Zhu Ziyang was thrilled. And then… he glanced at his left hand, a flicker of anticipation flashing through his mind.

"Haha! The same Dusklight Scythe as Changhe? Not bad at all!" Hong Zhen hadn't noticed that Zhu Ziyang's Martial Soul was actually different, but that didn't stop him from expressing his joy. "Knew it was a good idea to let him go first. What a lucky start! Come on, Little Yang, let's check your innate soul power."

He already assumed Zhu Ziyang had soul power.

Zhu Ziyang was just as curious. He instinctively retracted his Martial Soul and walked quickly to another device Hong Zhen had set up.

It was a blue crystal orb—the standard tool used to test soul power, known as a soul power testing crystal.

"Just place your hand on top," said Hong Zhen.

Zhu Ziyang did as instructed, pressing his right palm against the orb. Very soon, the crystal began to glow. Upon seeing this, Zhu Changhe and Liang Ying finally relaxed.

The light inside the crystal orb gradually intensified, quickly filling it completely. Then, in a flash, the glow burst outward in dazzling brilliance!

Hong Zhen's eyes instantly widened as he took several steps forward, staring intently at the glowing crystal orb.

"My heavens… it's… it's Innate Full Soul Power!"

"Brother Hong, is it really Innate Full Soul Power?!" Zhu Changhe and Liang Ying hurried over, their eyes wide with surprise and delight.

"That's right. It's definitely Innate Full Soul Power!" Hong Zhen looked at the couple with envy and admiration. "I've lived almost forty years, and this is the first time I've ever seen someone with Innate Full Soul Power. This is the first case in all of Anyang City! Brother Changhe, you and your wife are truly blessed!"

"This is amazing! Changhe, look—our Yangyang has Innate Full Soul Power!" Liang Ying shouted with excitement as she grabbed Zhu Changhe's arm.

"Hss—yeah, I see it! Don't pinch me so hard!" Though Zhu Changhe was equally excited, he remained calmer than his wife and didn't lose composure.

Zhu Ziyang also stared at the glowing crystal with wide eyes, joy and pride written all over his face. A mutated high-grade Martial Soul paired with Innate Full Soul Power—this was the perfect foundation for a future Titled Douluo.

He'd read many historical biographies, and almost all the top-tier Soul Masters who left their names in history possessed Innate Full Soul Power.

Now, that same rare gift belonged to him. It stirred up a powerful, unstoppable feeling inside him—he refused to live a mediocre life in this extraordinary world.

Looking at his excited parents, Hong Zhen's astonished face, the admiration in Jiang Nannan's eyes, and the envy on the faces of the other children, Zhu Ziyang suddenly found himself enjoying the attention.

His parents led him aside, and as he passed by Jiang Nannan, he made a cheering gesture toward her. She responded with a sweet smile, then stepped into the six-pointed star formation under Hong Zhen's guidance.

"Good boy! Mama's precious treasure!" Liang Ying hugged Zhu Ziyang tightly, her beautiful face glowing with joy.

"I never imagined… my son would have Innate Full Soul Power!" Zhu Changhe also sighed with emotion, his expression as exhilarated as his wife's.

"Good boy, this afternoon your father will take you to get your first soul ring! That means my son will be a one-ring Soul Master at six years old! Ehehehe…" Liang Ying giggled foolishly, her earlier disappointment over the Snow Dragon Lizard Martial Soul completely forgotten.

"No!"

"Absolutely not!"

Just as she was brimming with excitement, both Zhu Changhe and Zhu Ziyang spoke up at the same time to firmly reject her suggestion.

"Huh? Why?" Liang Ying's smile froze as she looked at them in confusion.

"Ah, you're too impatient," Zhu Changhe said helplessly. "Hunting the first soul ring isn't a small matter—it'll take at least three days. We can't just leave immediately. Don't we need to prepare food and supplies?"

"Exactly, Mom. And I haven't even decided what kind of soul beast to choose for my first soul ring yet. I need some time to plan," Zhu Ziyang added.

"Well… alright then. I can't argue with the two of you." Though a little disappointed, Liang Ying realized she had been too eager and agreed with a nod.

Hearing this, father and son both sighed in relief. They exchanged a look and shared a knowing smile.
