(Keiran's POV)
The whiskey in the glass was still full, files weren't read, and I didn't leave my office despite the sky decorated with stars. My mind was filled with only one thought. One face.
Elira Yung.
Never in my life had I thought a woman would have such an impact on me. I had always been a simple man with simple rule. Want it? Get it.
And I wanted her. As usual, I got her, but not totally. The first night we spent together, I wanted to take every inch of her body and soul, but I still couldn't understand why I stopped as soon as I saw tears in her eyes. It was new for me. To stop doing something just because the other person was crying. It lost my mind.
Not just that, I even took care of her sister with bloody fruits and flowers for a reason I couldn't understand. I hit my head multiple times to know the reason behind it, and the only answer I came up with was to impress her. Like, why the fuck did I even want to impress her?
"What the fuck am I doing?" I mumbled as I took the whiskey glass in my hand.
As I took a sip, the phone call interrupted me, and I answered it.
"Tell me, Elira."
I shut my eyes and fisted my palm, realizing the mistake I had made. It was from Leonel Virelli. The dangerous mafia that ruled the northern part of the world.
Elira totally conquered my mind that I started to spill her name at random places.
"Elira? The one for whom you killed our clients just because they touched her?"
Only because the interviewer insulted her, I cut off his tongue. How could I let go of those bastards who tried to rape her in Hydes?
"Don't tell me our wolf is now becoming a puppy for a girl." He laughed.
"Yeah! Says the little lion who killed a group of people over a woman."
A smirk appeared on my lips as I kept him shut for a moment. We knew each other very well. Our relationship had not started any days or months back. It had always been there. Since our childhood. Even before we were born.
It all started with our great-grandparents. They were four friends in a university from different countries with surnames Wolfe, Virelli, Petrov, and Deven. What started as a normal friendship turned into something more. Something that started to command even the government. They started the mafia, and the sub gangs were arranged in various countries to take care of minor deals and report the details. They were the first mafia that ever existed.
They divided the entire world into four parts. Not based on geography, politics, or even the equator. But based on the letter 'H.'. The world map was painted on the paper, stretched on the table, and drew the symbol 'H' on it, balancing two vertical lines with a connector.
The left vertical line of H was what they considered west, right as East, top as North, and bottom as South.
West had always been ruled by Wolfes, and North had always been taken care of by Virellis. Wars occurred, and countries got added and divided, but our divisions didn't change. Sometimes they worked together, sometimes individually. But, whatever happened in one territory was known to everyone.
The 'H,' as in Hydra, was a symbolism of 'Kill One Territory, Raise Two Territories.' Just like cutting one head of the mythical Hydra and seeing it regenerate into two.
If any of the territories touched, they made sure new sub-territories rose within it, which shook the government. Eventually, they even started to control the government from the shadows. It passed to us. It had always been the same until a monster shook both East and South a few years back, making it as one SEST. The Hydra era fell; the Hydes era rose.
"Whatever you say. The arms deal is closed. We are shipping the weapons from north to west. Take care of it."
"Okay."
We then talked about other business-related work and switched it to personal matters for a few minutes.
"It seems your girl doesn't belong to your region. Yung belongs to East. Don't let the SEST monster snatch your girl away." He laughed.
My jaw clenched even though it was a simple joke. "Her mother belonged to the East, not her. Even if she is, she couldn't go away from me. I'd collapse the SEST and even raise the gates of hell for her."
I was confused by my very own words. I kept quiet, rethinking my choice of words.
"Oh, someone is serious." He laughed again. "It won't happen considering the fact that he is obsessed with his beauty."
We then talked about our retired parents who were simply enjoying in an island without worries. Later, when he cut the call, Alex entered with a few books. As per my signal, he left the books on the table and walked away.
I scoffed as I looked at the textbooks of the last year of high school along with an application form. It made me realize I had really gone mad. I mean, why did I even buy books for her when she expressed her interest in education? The illogical part of my brain even told me to sponsor her education as if what I had done was not enough.
Another version of me, the softer side, which was too dangerous in our circle, started to burst out of my system whenever I was with her. I knew I should not lose my control and definitely not rest the wolf that was inside me, but she started to break everything bit by bit. And I definitely knew it would ruin both of us.
"Alex!" I shouted.
He quickly entered again and looked at me, ready to take any order I was going to give.
"Drive me to the Villa."
He drove me to the villa, and then he left. I stood in the main hall, hesitating to take another step forward. I thought for a few seconds, wondering if she'd not obey me anymore if I continued to grow softer in her eyes. But I also knew how to put her in place when she crossed the line.
Ignoring everything, I entered her bedroom. I didn't have to knock to enter. I had access to her room and body anytime. The sound of the running shower told me she was in the bathroom, and I sat on the bed, waiting for her.
The continuous notification sounds from her phone made me take it into my hands, and my lips formed into a thin line as I read his messages from the notification.
"Call me. I need to talk to you." - Matthew
"Miss you." - Matthew
My jaw shivered in fury, and I walked out of the room. I threw the books in my office room in the Villa, fuming. I gave her the cell phone again to test her if she'd be loyal and be scared to contact him after everything that had happened. I knew there was no part of the contract that said she shouldn't contact other men, but I wanted her to be loyal to me, to think about only me, and to not talk to that bastard ever again. There were sparks between them, and their relationship getting strengthened was the last thing I wanted.
She failed my test, and I had to show her the consequences. If she couldn't stop thinking about him, I had to erase her thoughts of him. And I knew exactly what I had to do.
