Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

After returning from the hospital to the werewolf base, Eisner was always restless.

His mind was in a mess. Those overly real nightmares made his temples throb.

He suddenly realized that in the hospital just now, Lucy didn't seem to care whether he stayed or left.

She didn't even say a single word to keep him. It was more like she couldn't wait for him to get out of her sight.

It shouldn't be like this.

In the past, Lucy liked to stick to him and always tried every means to stay with him.

Lucy had been raised very freely by the Atlant family since childhood. She loved to play, laugh, and make a fuss. He always thought she was not as steady as Isabella.

But now she seemed to talk less, didn't like to smile, and didn't act coquettishly with him. When did she start to change?

Eisner returned to the werewolf base in a daze.

Isabella's leg was in a thick plaster cast. When she saw Eisner, her eyes lit up.

"Eisner, I want to eat the meat soup you bought for me last time. I can't stand the food here at all."

In Eisner's mind, he couldn't help but think of Lucy.

When she first came to the deep mountains, she also seemed to have complained to him about the food here.

What did he say at that time?

[Lucy, this isn't the territory of the Atlant family. No one will tolerate your delicate - lady attitude. If you can eat, then eat. If not, then get out!]

Eisner's heart ached again.

This inexplicable pain had become more and more frequent recently.

Isabella called out to him again, "Eisner, are you not feeling well? Why are you sweating so much on your forehead?"

As if just waking up from a dream, Eisner asked her, "What's wrong?"

"I said I'm hungry and I want to eat meat soup. Can you go and buy it for me?"

After hesitating for a while, Eisner nodded.

Well, Lucy was alone in the hospital. If he brought her some food, she would definitely be happier.

She would smile at him like the sun, snuggle into his arms, kiss him, and call him "Brother", just like when they were most intimate.

Just thinking about it, Eisner couldn't sit still. After nodding, he immediately turned around and drove out of the werewolf base.

From the south to the north of the deep mountains, Eisner stepped on the accelerator all the way. It only took him an hour to buy the meat soup and reach the hospital.

After parking the car, he rushed to Lucy's hospital ward in a hurry.

He stood there, taking deep breaths repeatedly to calm his rapid breathing.

After a while, he pushed open the door and waved the food in his hand.

"Lucy, you've always wanted to eat meat soup. I specially went to buy it for you..."

But what greeted him was only an empty room, not the moved and smiling face he had imagined.

Lucy's hospital bed was empty, and even the pillows and quilts were gone.

His heart was pounding in his chest, and the feeling of losing control and suffocation came over him again.

But Eisner didn't have time to feel these emotions. He immediately put down the food and turned to the nurse's station.

"Excuse me, where has the patient in Room V1 gone?"

The nurse flipped through the records and replied, "She was discharged from the hospital today."

"Discharged? She couldn't even move properly. How could you let her be discharged? How do you do your jobs?"

The nurse rolled her eyes at him and said in a bad tone.

"Who do you think you are, shouting at us here? That patient was picked up in a wheelchair by her family. She's already been discharged. If you have anything to do, contact her yourself."

Hearing this, another nurse beside her came over curiously and asked, "Is it the one who was picked up by a private plane?"

The nurse ignored Eisner, whose face was ugly. The two nurses huddled together and chattered.

"Yes, it's her. It's really a big deal. There were bodyguards leading the way and a private plane for escort. We don't know what her identity is."

"Her internal organs were ruptured. The doctor advised her to stay in the hospital for rest, but she insisted on leaving. But the medical conditions of her family must be better than ours."

"I heard that because she insisted on leaving, a lot of medical equipment was urgently put on the private plane. They were bought at any cost from various hospitals, and there were even several doctors and nurses on board. Her family really dotes on her."

"That's true. Being able to make a private plane take off from the deep mountains, that's an unimaginable power."
