Chapter 8 - There Is No Escape

Sapphire P.O.V.

When I got home, I saw that Beth was already home lounging on the couch watching TV. "Hey, did you manage to go to the police station today?" I questioned her. "Yup but there is not much I can do but wait as the police were not able to track down who sent the flowers. But they told me not to worry too much as they will be sending someone to silently follow me around until the culprit is found" she shrugs.

"Well, then we will just have to wait" I sighed. Hating the feeling of the anxiety of waiting for something to happen. But the days go by without anything out of the ordinary happening.

Me and Beth keep waiting for him to make his move, but he never did it was like he just gave up, but we knew better he must be waiting for something, but we just don't know what, so we always keep our eyes peeled.

It was Friday when it all happens. The day started normal enough with a little excitement because tomorrow was the weekend which means no work for two days. It started when I was having my lunch alone, as Catherine had to stay back at the office because she had some work that needed to be finish soon, so she told me have lunch without her.

I was okay with it, but I should have paid more attention to my surrounding. Just because he was Beth's stalker does not mean I'm safe from him. So, I was walking back to the office when I passed by an alley, when I suddenly felt something stabbing me at the back of my neck. I felt my whole body go numb and someone behind me catch me before I fell.

"Act natural. Walk to the blue car and if you make a fuss your friend's life will be in danger you got that" the voice of a man warns me. I just nodded weakly not able to say anything. "Good now walk to the car" he prodded my back with something metal and I'm hoping it's not a gun.

My feet moved sluggishly thanks to whatever he injected me with. But I managed to walk to the car. As we were making our way to the car I tried to see the plate number of the car but the person behind me would not let me move my head except to look forward and every time I tried to look at another direction the person behind would prod my back with the metal object. I guess the person figured out what I was up to.

When we reach the car the person behind me opens the door for me and said or well-ordered me to get inside so I did. I didn't manage to get a look at his face as he was covering his face with a facemask.

The inside of the car was like any other car that you see. There was nothing in the car that indicates personal use as the car is bare of any decorations. He pushes me into the backseat of the car and closes the door once I'm in. He then walks to the driver seat and started the engine and we drove off to gods know where.

I was just lost in my thoughts thinking of a good way to escape from here without getting to hurt and hoping that I'm not going to be trap in the middle of nowhere when I realized the car was slowing down. I look outside and my fears were confirm I am surrounded by forest for as far as the eye can see.

I tried to see if I could spot any other houses or building nearby, but the kidnapper told me what I was too afraid to admit. "This is the only house that is within a mile" when he said that a cold dread fell over me. How am I going to get myself out of here without getting killed in the process?

The kidnapper forced me out of the car and pushes me to go to the front door of the house we stop in front of. I looked at the two-story house, and it looks creepy as it looks like it was built a few decades ago in the middle of nowhere. It was creepier looking as it's the only house around.

I was about to hyperventilate when the front door of the house open revealing a guy in his mid-twenties wearing a tight white polo t-shirt and dark blue jeans with chocolate brown hair that was swept to the side but somehow looks good on him.

I would have thought that he was hot, but he was nothing compared to my boss, and I can see that calculating look in his eyes like he was deciding the best way to deal with me, making his whole face look sinister. I shudder in fear and disgust at the way he was scanning me from head to toe. I know this was Beth's stalker but what does he want from me?

"I got the girl you were asking for, so where's my money?" My kidnapper asks him. He just clapped his hands and a guy wearing a black bodyguard outfit came out of the house and went to my kidnapper handing him the brown briefcase in his hand. My kidnapper opens the briefcase and checks the contents of the briefcase.

When he was satisfied with what he sees, he close it shut and said, "pleasure doing business you" and walks back to the car. He opened the driver seat door and drove out of the driveway leaving me alone with the psychopath and his bodyguard.

I was scared out of my mind but tried not to show it as people like him feed on fear from his victims. "Welcome Miss Evans, to one of my lovely houses. Don't worry about a thing I'll make sure to make your stay enjoyable as this will be the last house you will ever see" he says in a cheerful voice that had my feet shaking. I am so dead.
