Chapter 163 - Chapter 163: Secretary of Defense Stark! Recharge Maniac Saitama!

…The last two chapters didn't update, got locked, nothing I could do.

"No—!!"

Killian's roar was drowned in endless thunder.

From the moment Saitama's fist struck, azure divine lightning spread like judgment, devouring the Pacific in an instant.

Seawater and squid cells conducted the surge.

Every ocean on Earth connected in that second, glowing with searing arcs.

Boom—!!

As if a storm god's ocean had descended.

Every extremis-tardigrade gene collapsed under the strike.

The Earth shone with blinding brilliance.

From space, the planet looked like a lightbulb lit up.

Evaporating every sea was too much, but covering them all with thunder's power… not difficult.

Killian's octopus monstrosities screamed in agony, bodies charred then forced to regenerate.

But the sea conducted the current—Saitama's lightning far exceeded their limits.

So-called "infinite revival" ended the moment they met a monster stronger than themselves.

Within a breath, the light faded.

The titanic monsters crumbled like collapsing skyscrapers, into dust finer than ash, their cells and genes utterly destroyed.

Silence returned.

Then—

From the sea burst a writhing mass of scarlet flesh, lightning still sparking violently across it.

The last fragment of Killian.

No longer human—only a tardigrade monster.

If given even a sliver of time, he could rise again.

"Running away?"

Saitama stood still, watching the red lump flee.

He didn't chase.

Too lazy.

Instead—

Saturday Replica 001 tore through the sky, expanding into a black orb.

"Master, I've arrived. Truly powerful cells… but they can't affect non-living systems."

It floated at Saitama's side.

"Oh, so it doesn't work on machines."

Killian's greatest weapon was devouring life energy. Against mechanical hearts, he was helpless.

No matter how he struggled inside, he couldn't escape 001's grasp.

But simply binding him wasn't a real solution.

"Master, don't worry. With time, I can analyze Extremis-virus patterns from these cells, aiding research into evolution. And once dimensional transfer is done, the cells will die off instantly. No danger of spreading into your world."

The faithful butler.

"Fine. You handle the headache. My Thor power's almost gone."

Saitama didn't want to think. Too much effort for a salted fish.

His status list showed less than 1% lightning left.

Better recharge.

"Stark, let them clean up. I'm off to recharge."

He vanished.

—Bifrost, Realm Ten.

The rainbow bridge lit, a prismatic beam spanning galaxies, striking Earth and pulling Saitama away.

As its lord, he had complete control. Whenever he wanted, he traveled.

Recharge? Of course he'd go borrow from the little hammer. Neighbors after all.

Pakistan.

Inside a private cellar, Stark manipulated JARVIS and orbital satellites, tracking Saitama.

Colonel Rhodes reported to command, assuring them the crisis was over, calming the media.

"You see, Rhodey? Honestly, once my suits upgrade, I could've handled it too."

A hologram flickered before them.

Scenes of Saitama and Killian's battle across the sea.

Shared directly with the President and top officials.

Utter silence filled the chamber.

From the alien invasion till now, they all knew—Stark Industries was indispensable.

Every hero paled in comparison.

And their symbol—Iron Man himself.

Terrifying. Unstoppable.

"If Saitama wanted to be king, no one could stop him."

"But Stark… Stark we can have."

"From today, Stark Industries will be our sole military partner! End all contracts with Hammer Industries!"

"I propose Stark as Secretary of Defense! Representing America's freedom and might!"

The President's words rang.

Unanimous vote.

Historic.

"Mr. Stark, it's settled. You are now Secretary of Defense, in charge of national security."

The President's voice left no room for refusal.

Colonel Rhodes: "…"

Why did he feel like crying?

He'd bled for years, still just a colonel… and Stark…

"Hey, pal, life's funny like that. Honestly, I don't care about Secretary of Defense… but why not try it?"

Stark patted his shoulder, unconcerned.

Inside, though, he knew—

making Saitama a shareholder had been his best deal ever.

Together, they watched footage of Saitama's fist annihilating the Pacific, every monster obliterated.

"You… you could do that?"

Rhodey's worldview shattered again.

Stark: "…"

His joy at promotion faded instantly.

Rhodey stormed off.

"Forget Secretary of Defense! I just want to know—how the hell did Saitama do that?!"

Only Stark's bitter smile remained as the screen faded.
