"Terms? What terms did this guy make?"
Saitama muttered softly.
Fubuki and Saturday were also curious.
It looked like Banner had set up Genus.
"Sigh… even with your support, I still…"
Genus was hit hard.
He had thought he could surprise Saitama this time, shock him, maybe show off a little.
But the two strongest members of the House of Evolution had been beaten so badly by Saitama's friends they were unrecognizable.
Boom!
Banner glanced at Saitama, then back at Genus.
Finally, Genus sighed and nodded.
"…I accept your deal, Banner."
"Hahaha! Excellent! Genus, I promise this will be the best decision of your life!"
Banner patted him on the shoulder, nearly caving in his ribs.
"What are you even talking about? I don't get it."
Saitama scratched his bald head, confused.
"Me neither…"
Saturday chuckled.
"Hmph! Whatever, it's still better than wandering like some useless weakling."
Fubuki pouted adorably, lips pressed in faint annoyance.
"Master, I, Christina, pledge my loyalty to you for life!"
"Master, I, Rhino Beetle Emperor, pledge my loyalty to you for life!"
The two Dragon-level monsters knelt before Saitama, declaring allegiance.
Saitama: "…"
MMP!
Did I walk into the wrong set?!
Director, where's the One Punch Man set?!
Fubuki and Saturday froze.
Banner grinned smugly.
"My deal with Genus was simple. If I lost, I'd fund his research for fifty years. If he lost… then the entire House of Evolution, him included, would belong to you. Hahaha! My luck is always this good!"
Banner laughed wildly, a true mastermind.
Genus shrugged helplessly.
"Fine. Following you isn't so bad. At least I won't have to worry about research funds anymore."
Indeed, these scientists were all madmen.
Saitama's stomach churned.
Two Dragon-level monsters as his subordinates?
World first.
Monsters were villains, enemies. This was unheard of.
"You wonder why Christina and Rhino joined? They're not truly monsters anymore."
Banner explained with a smile.
Fubuki and Saturday's eyes widened.
Yes… that was the strange feeling.
They didn't feel like monsters.
Especially Christina—
In her complete form, she looked like a heroic knight.
Most civilians would think she was a professional hero.
"I studied monster genes. Their violence isn't natural—it's caused by hidden interference factors. I tried many methods, all failed, until… I used my own serum. That's when they evolved, but also gained control of their emotions."
He continued:
"Besides these two, no other case has succeeded. Maybe coincidence, maybe not."
Genus perked up, fascinated.
Saitama just rubbed his head.
So… these monsters were basically good guys now?
Keeping them around didn't sound too bad.
"Alright, Banner, but following you is expensive."
Saitama sighed.
"Heh heh…"
Banner and Genus exchanged nervous looks.
"It's nothing big. Just a monthly research fund… fifty million White Yuan. In return, all results will belong to you exclusively. Absolute control. I even drafted the contract."
"Pfft—"
Saitama nearly coughed blood.
Fifty million?!
In Marvel's world, he was a rich god.
But here in the Hero world… even S-class heroes didn't make that much.
He turned to leave.
"Wait! Thirty million! Thirty million is enough! We're developing a genetic serum to unlock human gene locks. I already have clues!"
Banner shouted desperately.
"If nothing else, you can use Asura, Christina, Beast King, and Gorilla as punching bags. They're tough!"
Genus could only smile bitterly.
Christina shot him a glare, silencing him instantly.
The poor monsters looked miserable.
Fate had turned them into practice dummies.
"Twenty-five million. Not a cent more."
Saitama stopped, bargaining like an online haggler.
"Deal! Oh yeah!! Genus, break out the champagne!"
Banner slapped hands with him, thrilled.
Genus blinked, then muttered, "We only planned for twenty million anyway… the extra five million is just a bonus."
Saitama: "…"
Fubuki and Saturday covered their mouths, giggling.
"That salted fish just got fleeced. Feels so good~~~"
