Penny's POV
The sun is barely up when I wake up the next morning. I quickly take my bath and go downstairs to find Dad already in his study, the morning light spilling through the window across his desk. He looks up from his papers as if he'd been waiting for me.
"Penny," he says, motioning me closer. "About what I wanted to tell you last night."
I step inside, my heart tight. "You said we'd talk today."
He nods, folding his hands together. "The business has always been about more than contracts and numbers. It's about family. It's about Legacy. And I've wanted you to know that whatever you decide to do, I don't expect you to carry the company on your back. You don't owe us that. What I want is for you to be happy, and to know that your Mom and I will support you, no matter what path you take."
The words sink in me warmly as relief floods through me. "Thank you, Dad. I really needed to hear that."
