Chapter 57 - Chapter 57: The New Mr. Bond

Chapter 57: The New Mr. Bond

William held Alessandra's hand as they walked out of the hotel. He had only gone a few steps when he sensed someone dozens of meters away.

A middle-aged white man was aiming a camera at them. William didn't have to guess; he knew it was Alessandra Ambrosio's agent.

When William had first arrived at the hotel, he noticed a man with a camera around his neck staring at him. At the time, William had dismissed him as just another paparazzo.

But after meeting the impeccably dressed Alessandra, he grew suspicious.

He knew from his past life that models and their agents could be ruthless. Rising in the modeling world was harder than in acting, and they would seize any opportunity possible.

That was why William had decided to test Alessandra. The test confirmed his suspicions. She had deliberately led him past the middle-aged man, and as they walked, she was practically hanging off William's arm.

It didn't matter. It was all mutually beneficial. If they developed feelings for each other, they would stay together. If not, they would break up. Leonardo DiCaprio from his past life was William's idol; the man exclusively dated supermodels.

Besides, William genuinely liked Alessandra Ambrosio. In this life, he finally had the chance to fulfill a wish from his past life, and he was secretly thrilled.

Alessandra led William to the beach. They both took off their shoes and walked barefoot on the soft sand. The sunset, the gentle breeze, the sea, and a bubbly, beautiful woman holding his arm, occasionally flirting with him—this, William lamented, was what life was all about.

Holding Alessandra's hand, he guided their walk toward the beach near Alexios Demetrios's villa.

William spotted Yin-Yang, disguised as a tourist, not far away. The man was Chinese, and his average height and build made him perfect for blending into a crowd.

Yin-Yang was with another Asian beauty he had found somewhere, and the two were sitting on beach chairs in front of Demetrios's villa.

Out of the corner of his eye, William glanced at Alexios Demetrios, who was standing on the second-floor balcony of the villa.

The man looked depressed as he stared out at the sea. Demetrios must have learned that his operative, Carlos, was dead.

The man Le Chiffre had hired was dead before the mission could be completed, captured by a full tactical team. Demetrios knew their plan had been exposed, but Le Chiffre had already shorted hundreds of millions in stock. He couldn't back out now. His only option was to find another desperate soul to do the job. Otherwise, Le Chiffre would undoubtedly have him killed for the failure.

Pretending not to notice Yin-Yang or Demetrios, William pulled Alessandra's hand and continued walking past the villa. They hadn't gone more than twenty or thirty meters when William heard the sound of hoofbeats behind him.

He turned his head to see a beautiful, curvy woman riding a horse, which she brought to a halt in front of the villa. From atop her horse, she glanced at William and Alessandra.

Just then, a muscular man emerged from the sea near the villa. He wiped the seawater from his face and looked at the woman on the horse with an expression of pure captivation, as if he had just laid eyes on a goddess.

*What the hell,* William thought. *Isn't that Bond?*

*Hadn't this mission been assigned to me? Why is 007 in the Bahamas?* And this wasn't Pierce Brosnan.

Had Pierce died, or had he been kicked out of the 00 program for disobeying Mrs. M? William didn't know, but he knew for certain that this was Daniel Craig.

As Daniel Craig looked their way, William realized the agent recognized him. He was the new 007 chosen by Mrs. M. Damn it. If Bond was in the Bahamas, Mrs. M must have known William was here for some time.

Feigning disinterest, William turned back to Alessandra. "Alessandra, it's getting dark. Shall we go get a nice dinner?"

With a smile, William leaned in and kissed her. The beautiful model was far bolder than he was; she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back passionately.

As they were locked in their embrace, William saw Barney signal from beneath a nearby tree. He was asking when they could move on Alexios Demetrios.

While still holding Alessandra, William raised a single finger and shook it slightly, signaling Barney to wait.

Barney nodded and retreated back into the woods.

William took Alessandra to one of the hotel's fine dining restaurants, where they enjoyed an extravagant meal.

After dinner, he took her to the hotel's casino. They sat at the bar, playing a kissing game and whispering to each other.

William told jokes he remembered from his past life, making Alessandra roar with laughter. He threw in a few off-color ones, which earned him a playful slap on the arm.

As the conversation grew more intimate, William held Alessandra close and asked, "My dear, when are you heading back to America?"

Alessandra kissed him and said, "The plan is to leave tomorrow. I have a show in Miami the day after. Why don't you come to Miami with me, William? We can have some fun there after my show."

Going to Miami was perfect. "Or," William suggested, "we could leave tonight. I have a private jet at the airport. We can fly to Miami first, and you can play while you wait for your agent. What do you say, dear?"

"I'm not your 'dear' yet, William. You bad guy, you just want to get me alone so you can do whatever you want," Alessandra said, stroking his cheek with a mischievous smile.

This enchantress... her charm was truly powerful. It was no wonder she was rated as one of the world's most beautiful women.

"What could I possibly do to you? I just want you to show me around Miami. I've never been to America," he said, feigning innocence.

"Hehe, don't think I don't know you're a bad man. But I like bad men like you, William. Let's go to your room, okay?" Alessandra whispered in his ear.

William was about to nod and agree when he saw Alexios Demetrios walk in with a gloomy face. As Demetrios was exchanging cash for chips at the bar, his eyes landed on Alessandra. When he saw William holding her, his expression immediately turned to one of disgust.

After buying twenty thousand pounds worth of chips, Demetrios sneered at William and walked toward the gambling tables. His expression clearly said he thought William was some poor nobody.

As he walked away, he even tossed a few low-value chips in Alessandra's direction.

*Damn it,* William thought. *He looked down on me for being poor. If I don't teach you a lesson tonight, my name isn't Devinshire.*
