Chapter 55 - Chapter 55: Ambrosio

Chapter 55: Ambrosio

William boarded the private jet and, led by a flight attendant, went directly to the sofa in the cabin to sleep. He wasn't interested in making small talk today; the flight attendant wasn't his type. Much to her surprise, he went straight to sleep.

The plane flew for eight hours, landing at Nassau International Airport, the capital of the Bahamas. After getting off the plane, William turned on his phone outside the airport, checked a text from Barney, and hailed a taxi.

"The Marine Club Hotel."

"Yes, sir," the taxi driver replied.

When William arrived at the hotel, he saw Barney and Christmas waiting for him in the lobby.

As soon as they saw him, Barney and Christmas greeted him quietly, "Good afternoon, boss."

"Afternoon, Barney, Christmas. Where is Alexios Demetrios now?" William asked.

"Demetrios and his wife are at a seaside villa. Some of the team are watching it now," Barney replied.

William nodded. "Watch him in shifts during the day. We might have work to do tonight."

"Understood, boss."

After speaking with them, William went to the front desk, where a beautiful blonde was working. He approached and said, "Hello, I'd like to book a room."

Seeing a handsome young man, she asked with a smile, "Do you have a reservation?"

William smiled back. "No, this was a spur-of-the-moment trip. As you can see, I didn't even bring any luggage."

The receptionist checked her computer and said, "We only have a sea-view room available at the moment. Would you like it?"

"Perfect, I'll take it." William produced a black card from the Bank of England and handed it to her.

After the check-in procedure was complete, the receptionist smiled and returned the card to William. As she did, she discreetly traced a number on his palm with her finger. "Mr. Devinshire, if you need a tour guide, I would be happy to show you the beautiful sights of the Bahamas."

William replied smoothly, "No problem. If I need one, I'll come find you."

"Okay, you can come to me for any reason. Here's my card. For *any* need at all," she said, giving William a wink.

"Alright, I'll find you if I need anything. I understand. Goodbye."

"Goodbye, sir. I'll be waiting."

The weather in the Bahamas was a pleasant change. Yesterday he was in a down jacket; today, a shirt and shorts were all that was needed, and William's mood improved instantly.

As he walked out of the hotel, William saw two beautiful women in athletic vests and short skirts, carrying tennis rackets. As they passed, one of them turned, and upon seeing William, she smiled.

William recognized her immediately. It was the Victoria's Secret supermodel, Alessandra Ambrosio. He followed the two women toward the hotel's tennis courts, sat down in the spectator area, and ordered a fruit juice.

Sipping his drink while watching the two beauties run around the court was an exceedingly pleasant way to pass the time.

He was now certain it was her. She was just as breathtakingly beautiful as the Ambrosio he remembered from his previous life.

Before long, Alessandra Ambrosio and her companion stopped playing. Annoyed, she walked directly toward William.

Seeing her approach, William knew he had been caught staring. He quickly pretended to be engrossed in his drink, turning his head away to hide his embarrassment.

"Excuse me, Mr. Devinshire, over here," Alessandra called out, waving.

Having been called by name, William had no choice but to turn back and feign innocence as he looked at her.

"Mr. Devinshire, I know you were staring at me. Sir, it's very rude to stare at people like that," Alessandra said with an indignant pout.

William had to stand up. He put on his most charming smile and said, "I'm sorry. I know I shouldn't have been staring, but I was simply admiring a beautiful person in a beautiful place."

"Beautiful lady, I had no intention of offending you, but my eyes can't help but be drawn to beautiful things. Even knowing it's wrong, I couldn't help but be captivated by you," William said, his apology dripping with charm.

Alessandra was amused by his words. "Mr. Devinshire, you certainly have a way with words. But that doesn't excuse your rudeness. Alright, since you weren't being lewd, I'll accept your apology... for now."

"Thank you. May I invite you to sit down?" William asked, pulling out a chair for her.

After Alessandra sat, William called a waiter and asked what she would like to drink.

"A glass of mango juice, thank you," she told the waiter, then turned to William. "Mr. Devinshire, aren't you supposed to be in England? How did you end up in the Bahamas? I just saw you on TV yesterday. When I saw you at the hotel entrance a moment ago, I thought I was seeing things."

William watched her laugh, revealing a wide, toothy smile. The 20-year-old Ambrosio was stunning. She still had an air of youthfulness about her, a different kind of confidence than the one he remembered from his past life.

"Mr. Devinshire, may I call you William?"

"Of course. But, beautiful lady, you know my name, yet I don't know yours. That's hardly fair," William said with a playful smile.

"Hehe, William, I'm not going to tell you. But you can guess. If you guess right, I'll give you a chance to buy me dinner," the young Alessandra Ambrosio said mischievously.

"Oh, you're really not making it easy for me, are you? But since you're letting me guess, you must be famous. How could I have never heard of such a beautiful girl?"

William pretended to stroke his chin in thought. Just as Alessandra was getting impatient, he suddenly brightened.

"Ha, I remember now! I knew you looked familiar. I saw you in *ELLE* magazine. You're Alessandra Ambrosio, right, beautiful girl?" he finished, giving her a wink.

Alessandra Ambrosio looked at the smiling William and realized she'd been had.

She said indignantly, "William, you're terrible! I can't believe I fell for that. You must have known who I was the whole time and were just teasing me. William, you're so cunning! I'm so angry."

William laughed at her adorable pout. Alessandra leaned forward and playfully smacked him on the shoulder, then sat back opposite him, staring at him with mock anger.
