Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Porsche 911

Chapter 30: Porsche 911

William took Diana Rigg's arm and the two of them walked out of the hotel. As soon as they were outside, they were blinded by a flurry of camera flashes. Under the escort of hotel security, William led Diana Rigg to a Rolls-Royce that the Hilton had prepared.

The two had a pleasant dinner at a Michelin three-star restaurant, sharing three bottles of wine. By the end, Diana Rigg was a little drunk and was hanging on William's arm as they left. The beautiful reporter clearly didn't mind the physical contact, and she and William were affectionate in the back of the car on the way to the hotel.

Paparazzi on motorcycles followed them the whole way, their cameras flashing at the Rolls-Royce. It seemed Diana's purpose was not entirely pure; she seemed to encourage the paparazzi to capture their intimate moments.

When they arrived at the hotel, William helped the drunken Diana into his room. As soon as the door closed, they fell onto the sofa together.

After a vigorous round of 'push-ups,' William went to the bathroom to take a shower. He found Diana had already fallen asleep on the sofa, so he picked her up, carried her to the bathtub, and gently washed her. After she was clean, he carried her back to the bed, where they both fell asleep.

The next morning, William was woken by Diana playfully pinching his nose. He opened his eyes, and a mischievous smile spread across his face. A moment later, it was Diana's turn to let out a surprised yelp as William pulled her close. They began their morning 'exercise' right then and there. Two hours later, around eleven o'clock, they finally emerged from the shower.

"Damn it, William, you're a beast," Diana Rigg complained as she applied her makeup. "You kept going and going. I'm completely exhausted."

William came over, hugged Diana from behind, and kissed her cheek. "How about we go out for a big meal at noon, then I'll take you shopping on Oxford Street and buy you something you like? Hurry up, dear Diana. I'm so hungry I could eat a cow. If you don't hurry, I might just eat you instead."

When Diana Rigg heard William offer to take her shopping on Oxford Street, her mood brightened instantly. She knew from his attitude that he didn't see her as a real girlfriend.

But even if she couldn't be his girlfriend right now, as long as he was willing to spend time with her, she still had a chance. It was hard to find such a high-quality man. Even just a 'friendly match' was worth it. Thinking of the Tyrannosaurus Rex hidden within William's not-so-imposing body, she shivered. He was as savage as they come.

Women really take a long time to put on makeup. It was nearly one o'clock by the time William and Diana Rigg arrived at the Michelin restaurant, and William was starving.

As soon as the dishes were served, he dropped all pretense of being a gentleman and dug in. After they finished lunch, William took Diana to Oxford Street.

Although they didn't embrace, they held hands and whispered to each other as they walked. When Diana Rigg initiated some more intimate actions, William didn't refuse. He was just having a friendly match with her, not looking for a girlfriend, so he felt he should give her some benefits. For Diana, who was looking to raise her profile, this publicity might be enough to get her promoted from a simple reporter to a BBC host.

The two wandered around Oxford Street all afternoon, visiting one luxury store after another. William spent forty to fifty thousand pounds in exchange for a few designer outfits and a handbag. To her credit, Diana didn't really treat him like a bottomless wallet. Most of the things she picked out were in the one or two thousand pound range. Only the twenty-thousand-pound handbag was something she accepted, and only after hesitating for a long time.

William was quite satisfied with this. Diana was clearly a smart woman who had risen from the bottom. She knew where the line was. This made William decide to keep in touch with her, at least for the time being.

When they arrived at a Porsche dealership, a blue 911 in the showroom caught William's eye, and he couldn't look away. He had loved Porsches in his previous life, much more than Ferraris.

Seeing the '98 model with its 300 horsepower, William couldn't help but take Diana's hand and walk into the store. A salesperson, who had seen William's live broadcast, recognized him at a glance. She smiled and said, "Good afternoon, Mr. Devonshire. I'm Lois, a Porsche sales consultant. How can I help you?"

William smiled back at Lois, pointed at the 911 on the display stand, and said, "Hello, Lois. I like that car. Is one available? I'd like to take it for a drive now."

Lois smiled. "Mr. Devonshire, this is the largest Porsche dealership in London. We have every model available in England. We have the 911 you want in the garage, with the highest trim package. I think you'll like it. Please, come with me and have a seat while my colleagues bring the car around."

He had barely taken a few sips of coffee before a voice crackled over the intercom on Lois's belt, announcing that the car was ready.

Lois led William and Diana to the back of the dealership, where a sky-blue Porsche 911 was waiting. "Lois," William asked, "can I test drive it?"

"Of course, Mr. Devonshire. Please," she said.

Accompanied by Lois, William got into the 911. He said to Diana, who was standing outside the car, "Diana, wait for me. I'll take you for a ride later."

Diana smiled and nodded. She had seen that the car only had two seats and knew William wasn't trying to exclude her. "Drive carefully, William," she said. "I'll wait for you in the store with a cup of coffee."

With Lois in the passenger seat, William drove the 911 out of the dealership. Once on the ring road, he opened it up. Listening to the roar of the sports car's engine, William was ecstatic.

Lois, sitting beside him, hurriedly reminded William that he was speeding. With some regret, William slowed down. After completing a lap of the ring road, he drove back to the dealership, got out, and said, "I'll take it. You can draw up the bill."

Hearing William say he'd buy the car, Lois's smile was so wide it almost split her face. She nodded eagerly. "Of course, Mr. Devonshire. I'll draw up the bill for you right away."

After swiping his card, William took Diana to continue shopping. The Porsche dealership would deliver the car in two hours, after they had applied the protective film and arranged the license plates.

Two hours later, while William and Diana were sharing a large tub of ice cream, the Porsche dealership called. A short while later, waiting on a bench on the street, William took delivery of his new car. The Porsche 918 had not been released yet, and William thought the current 911 was the most beautiful car Porsche had ever made.

Seeing William take Diana's hand as he received the keys to the 911, the paparazzi who had been following them swarmed in, their flashes focused on the new car. The lights were blinding. William put on his sunglasses, then took the pair hanging from Diana's collar and gently put them on her.

Diana was taken aback by his sudden thoughtfulness and looked at him with a blush.

The paparazzi went wild. Seeing William and Diana's public display of affection, they had a great time snapping photos. They would have plenty to write about for tomorrow's papers.

He could already imagine the headlines: "William Devinshire Spoils New Love with LV Bags and a Porsche 911," or "Diana Rigg to Marry into Wealth," or even "The Rise of a Countess: From Tabloid Reporter to the Peerage."
