After I came into the staff room this morning I grabbed a cup of coffee. Mr Smith's asking around to see if anyone will take one of his form students. Typical. Trying to shove naughty students to other teachers is normal.
When I overhear him saying Abby Rye I interrupt and ask why he wanted to transfer her.
'She is always late or doesn't bother turning up. When she does half the time she walks out or I'm sending her to medical.'
His rambling on how his always had students with 99 or 100% attendance and she's dragging down his form.
'I've heard enough!' I snap. He looks at me puzzled then asks skeptically 'so will you take her'
I scoff at him 'transfer her to 2B'.
His face beams with a smile, he looks so happy to get rid of her, with my own smile I saunter off with my coffee in hand to my class.
As soon as the bell goes all of my form are here. Im expecting Abby no more than 10 minutes late.
I take the register and then get everyone to read while I fill out a report card for when Abby arrives. I decided after reading her folder that she needs to be monitored. I was going to speak with her form tutor but now she's my student.
I won't have her skipping classes or walking out. She's at school to learn.
To my surprise Mr Halt comes through the door stating I'm missing a student.
I know it's her so I get him to sit her outside. Once form is over I dismiss everyone then usher Abby in.
Of course she's in a mess again! What the hell is going on with this girl.
'What happened to you?' I ask
'Nothing sir'
I let out a heavy breath 'Don't lie, speak'
I just about hear her mumble 'I'm sorry i had an accident'
My eyes narrow...
She sucks in a breath ...
'Go clean yourself up then I expect you to come back here and explain yourself, do you understand?' She nods and scurries to the bathroom.
Im going to get to the bottom of this. She's always a mess and running off, there's got to be a reason behind it.
I wait patiently for 10 minutes sitting at my desk on the computer. She has not returned!
I walk to the bathroom and open the door and call her name, silence.
I go in and check all the cubicles and shes not here.
Im furious!!
How can this girl disrespect me like this. This is the second time she's completely ignored me and run off.
I storm out of the bathroom, going straight to my computer on my desk, I search Abby rye and her timetable comes up. She has science with Mr lye.
I walk to class 1P and knock on the door. I don't have to wait long before the door opens.
'Mr Sinclair what can I do for you?'
'Abby rye, I need to take her out of your class' Mr lye beckons her to collect her belongings and then leave.
I wait for her to step out of the door then I grab her arm in a firm grip and walk her back to my classroom. I release her arm and open the door.
'In now' I shout and she bolts into the classroom.
