Chapter 3 - Chapter 2: Finally given a second chance to do the wrong thing.

"I work for a well known grim reaper organization, but something happened and I found out. Now they want to kill me...I can't let them have it, instead I'll give it to this annoying kid, he has the potential already, though he just needs a jumpstart" The reaper said into empty space, weighing his options.

Immediately he gripped Xelian's wrist.

"What are you blabbing about?!" Xelian retorted struggling to get but the reaper's grip was too tight

"I Lion...hereby make you, damned spirit- a reaper. I give you purpose, reason to exist, deviate from it and cease to exist into nothingness" amidst the reapers chants, his palm portrayed a great golden light which shined through Xelian's skin enforcing him in immense pain.

"Asleep is Xelian, risen to serve is Dark." the reaper granted with faint breaths.

Lion was quickly immersed in pain while that of Dark seized.

Xelian was finally free of Lion's grasp only to find a burnt scar which drew out Lion's palm on his wrist.

"What is all these, what the fuck is all these shit!!" Xelian barked enraged by his current situation.

Lion finally managed to stop screaming as a mysterious ball of energy originated from within the whole on his chest.

It majestically floated over to Xelian staring him in the face, it let out a quick crack then half of the ball like life-source disintegrated into dust and rode the wind over to Xelian's body, wrapping itself around him despite how hard Xelian tried to wave it away.

The able half of Lion's source slowly floated back towards Lion but he uses his last able strength to push it straight into Xelian's chest though still in its solid form causing a massive shockwave which covered quite the radius.

Xelian's eye colour instantly changed from bright red to faded green, his hair followed suit as its colour changed from brown to bold red.

Every rustle, every sound made by anything echoed through Xelian's ears as he exhaled releasing cold steam from his mouth, his skin growing more pale.

"You are now a Leacher, your purpose is to reconstruct the pillar" Lion whispered while his body gradually turned to ash.

"Lion, Lion..what pi...I don't get...I have so many questions.. wait.." Xelian rumbled in distress.

He was now alone in this crazy situation he found himself.

Xelian abruptly turned over his shoulder consequent to the twitching of electric energy that plagued his ears.

The growling electric charges turned into a fanatical whirlpool which somewhat seemed like a portal.

"Fuck this shit!" Xelian cursed as he quickly and skillfully lifted his body off the ground in an attempt to run away but the pulling effect of the portal was too powerful; he was briskly sucked into it then it closed up, bestilling the atmosphere without any trace of former disturbances whatsoever.

REAPER VERSE....

A portal opened and Xelian fell right through it.

"And who are you?.." A thick male voice echoed in the enclosed room.

Xelian halted his movement on the ground after hearing the voice of the man, probably with the immediate thought that he was a reaper like Lion.

He finally looked up to meet the sight of a middle aged man, probably around his late 30's fully clad in armor *in his right hand was a smoothened wooden stick*

"You are not Lion, neither are you dressed like assassins." the man said after observing his appearance.

"You knew Lion?" Xelian asked as he haltingly got up from the cold tiled floor.

"Knew him?..." the man hummed curiously.

"Lion's dead, I'm sorry." Xelian reported with his head slightly bent.

Silence slowly crept its way into the room as the man portrayed a series of mixed emotions. Xelian could not confirm if the man was a friend or a foe of Lion.

He didn't know what would happen if the man found out that he was turned into a reaper by Lion but he was sure it wouldn't result in anything good.

"Well that's a bust, so you must be the new soul. Xelian right?" the man finally said as he retired the stick to a sword chamber at his back.

"How do you know my name?" Xelian asked.

"We can't talk here." he replied picking up a black bag close to him then threw it at Xelian.

"Put that on, reaper verse or not..blood is not a good sight." he informed with a cautionary expression.

MINUTES LATER...

A metal door opened and a man of average height walked out wearing a plain, white long sleeve shirt which was unbuttoned up to the third button and a black jean trouser.

Beside him was Xelian who was putting on a black long sleeve top and blue jeans with a red cap clamped down to conceal his identity.

He looked around the building and it was really marvellous and smart looking, it had the vibe of a hotel but seemed like a business centre among other things.

"What is this place?" Xelian asked after failing to figure out the main purpose of the building.

"We call it the office, this is where we grim reapers come in order to travel to your world and handle a job." the man replied leading the teen through a metal door.

"Caging souls is your job right?" Xelian urged.

"Not...exactly." he whispered back as he pushed through another door which led to a hallway.

"What are you implying?" Xelian asked once more as they stepped into an elevator.

Xelian removed the cap and ran his hand in a menacing manner scattering the layout completely.

"This is way more than I bargained for." Xelian thought within him.

"Take it easy, I'll explain everything once you're safe." the man assured easily reading Xelian's facial expression.

"And who's after us?" the teen asked.

"At this point anyone." he replied so quickly.

"That's comforting." Xelian answered with a surprising smile on his face.

"What seems to amuse you?" the man asked.

"Everything here amuses me, I finally seem to have an aim- a purpose." he replied with a sigh.

"Oh yeah, I heard one of you was a rich stoic teen who didn't value his life. Seems like you're that soul." the man clarified.

"Since you know all about me, who are you?" Xelian finally asked.

"You can call me Destiny." the man replied.

"What a great name and a great thing, do you guys actually have destinies?" Xelian said in his usual stoic expression.

"Quiet." Destiny said as the elevator came to a halt, Xelian arranged his hair and put the cap back on.

The elevator opened to a grand floor in which sunlight raced in from the glass windows.

This seemed to be the ground floor and Destiny had his sights on the main entrance door.

"Let's go." he said as he moved quickly towards the door while Xelian trailed behind.

They made it to the door and were finally out of the building.

Xelian was astonished at the view he received in their world.

"This place really looks a lot like earth." Xelian admitted.

"Yeah, you can say that" Destiny replied stopping at the edge of the road.

"Why did we stop?" Xelian asked.

Destiny pulled out a car key from his pocket and pressed a button on it, immediately a black Ferrari became visible revealing itself from the rear to the front.

"Whoa!...was that in camouflage?" Xelian expressed.

"I thought reapers were traditionally inclined soul takers who lived in caves and lighted campfires." he added.

"That's somewhat offensive, get in." Destiny ordered and he did so before they drove off.

20 MINUTES LATER... DESTINY'S MANSION {THE BLACK WAGON}...

"What do you mean by Lion has me?..he's dead" Xelian quizzed confused.

"He turned you into a reaper, he gave you a name and a purpose, you have to honour it" Destiny answered.

They appeared to be in Destiny's large sitting room.

"I don't give shit about honour" Xelian defended.

"Then be prepared to turn to nothing which is more like you were before, if you don't honour Lion's wish then there is no need for your existence, you'll change back into a lost soul and wither away with time." Destiny said in a harsh and warning tone.

"Then what happens when I fulfill his wish?" Xelian asked with a smart look.

"You'll waver into a spirit and drift into the afterlife." Destiny explained.

"And what if I refuse to adhere to these rules?"

"I just made that clear, are you in or out?" Destiny said with a straight face.

Xelian was quiet for some time before staring up at Destiny.

"I'm not sure I can trust him yet, but I have to play it save" the teen concluded.

Xelian nodded slightly in approval. Destiny shifted a brown box across the table towards Xelian. He opened it and was alerted at his findings though he expected it.

"What's the lifeline?" Xelian asked like a professional who had done this before, maybe too perfect and Destiny didn't miss the hint but he didn't let it show on his face.

"You're a student of Light Slumber Prestige, it is one of the top schools for reapers throughout the realm, it would be the last place they'll search for you, you're my nephew and whenever you get sidetracked by anyone or make a mistake just say you lived in the world of the living throughout your life until now. You're just a week behind, that is your phone and other necessary things including your new ID" Destiny rad through.

"Dark Silver" he murmured.

"You're already a week behind so you start school tomorrow. Be aware, this school is filled to the brim with rich and influential spoilt bastards, so watch your way" Destiny cautioned.

"No wonder I couldn't find him, I wasn't searching the right system. I'll definitely meet you again!" Dark chorused within him, filled with raw determination.

"Don't worry, I'll climb to the top of the food chain in no time, I am certainly not leading a fucking boring life anymore" Xelian replaced with a huge maniacal smile plastered on his face....
