Chapter 208 - Other system evaluations

"Are these for real?" she asked as she stared at the collection of stones in her hands.

"They are. Why?" I asked curiously.

"The system, my one that is, listed the two ability stones as Legendary grade treasures. The skill stone is listed as an Epic grade supplementary item." she said with a stunned expression.

"Oh so that's how your system classifies things. I suppose that makes sense for a scenario like yours. Out of curiosity what does your system say about the effects of the ability stones or do you need to use them first to see that?" I asked intrigued.

"For the physique stone it says it triples each levels free stats points, gives a passive regeneration that scales with the strength, constitution and magic stats. It also says it unlocks the mortal, changed and higher limiters but I don't know what that means." She said with a slight tilt of her head and a frown.

"Perhaps your system has certain levels that you'd normally need to go extra far to get past? If you could just continuously kill things alone to level infinitely things would get out of hand fast. Perhaps the three things mentioned are the normal bottleneck points it has in place? If so then it makes sense that the appraisal is so high. While everyone else has to jump through extra hoops to get past them you've got smooth sailing with no stops." I theorized.

"I think you might be right. Even in the show the people of that world could get unreasonably strong through only hard work." she said looking at the stone like it was her golden ticket.

Not that I could blame her as in a world like hers the effects of that were frankly cheating. -

Assuming almost everyone received the same amount of free stat points to allocate per level it meant she should in theory be three times as strong as anyone else her level. Perhaps early in the levels this advantage won't be too extreme but higher up? She'd be able to punch above her level far higher than mere skill would allow. Then there was the regeneration that scaled with three of her stats. Strength and constitution made sense as those were the stats pertaining to the body obviously. Magic was a curious one though as typically the strongman types didn't use magic in settings like hers.-

If my theory that haki is a magic skill however it all makes sense. The body and spirit were tightly connected in the one piece world with a strong body being necessary to use haki at it's strongest. Haki burned stamina after all so if you had a weak body even with it you'd pass out with any real long term use of it. There were a few exceptions to this rule but those were more because the person was just born with a type of haki passively active, like that one little girl from Skypeia I can't remember the name of.-

"And the haki stone?" I asked to see if my theory is correct.

"It says it's a magic skill. It says it gives me the ability to harm intangible entities, cause internal damage, extend my perception, see into the future, harm souls and pressure enemies. It says it scales with the same three stats as the physique and starts at common grade effectiveness. The skill stone for it says it allows me to level up the skills scaling." she said with a look of awe.

"I thought as much." I said not surprised at all.

"What do you mean?" she asked with a confused frown.

"Look at the scaling for the regeneration in the physique stone. Anything there seem odd to you?" I asked not directly answering.

"Now that you mention it the fact it scales with magic is a bit weird." she said frowning further.

"I spotted that immediately as well. The only way it would make sense was if the haki stone was a magic skill with the same scaling. The two are meant to be a pair. Two parts of the same whole that make one piece people the way they are." I said seriously.

"Damn, that world is kinda broken huh?" she said with a new appreciation for the place in question.

"It's relative. In that world everyone is like that so it's just considered normal. In worlds where humans simply don't work like that however it can be VERY broken. Take my world for example. Here I am a wizard but thanks to the physique and haki I have my magic is incredibly potent. Magic is influenced by the mind, body and soul after all and with haki and the physique two of those three are at levels almost no human wizard could even understand." I said honestly.

"Oh what about your magic ? Could I have that?" she asked with and eager gleam to her eyes.

"Yes, but it would be nearly useless to you. It's mostly a knowledge based power system so you'd need to study to actually make the most of it. Additionally you flat out don't have the same resources readily available that even the most mundane of wizards here do. No Hogwarts, no teachers and only the books you can get through me. Bluntly put it's a terrible match for a violence focused scenario like yours, the time you would spend trying to learn would be better served leveling up instead." I said frankly.
