Chapter 27 - Chapter 25: The Scientist’s Confession

Shadows of Conscience

The cavernous chamber hummed softly with ancient machines and flickering holograms. Vegito and his crew stood gathered around the lone figure — the scientist — whose eyes flickered with a mixture of fear, regret, and resolve.

A Haunted Past

The scientist's voice was low, almost trembling. "My name is Dr. Elara Myles. I once served the World Government willingly, a loyal researcher in their secret weapon program."

Her gaze fell to the floor. "But as I uncovered their true purpose—an unstoppable weapon designed to wipe out entire regions and crush any opposition—I realized I had to act."

A Dangerous Gamble

Elara glanced around, wary. "I've been leaking information to select rebel factions, but it's not enough. The weapon, codenamed 'Oblivion,' is nearing completion beneath the Reverie."

Kuina's grip tightened on her sword. "Why trust us now?"

Elara met Vegito's steady gaze. "Because you are different. Your strength, your cause—it gives me hope. But more than that, I fear what will happen if Oblivion is unleashed."

The Alliance

Robin stepped forward. "With your knowledge, we can locate the weapon's core and find a way to dismantle it. But you'll need protection once you leave this place."

Elara nodded. "I'm ready to risk everything. The future depends on it."

The Weight of the Mission

Vegito's voice was firm. "Then we move quickly. The longer we stay, the higher the risk of discovery."

As the crew prepared to move, the distant echo of alarms signaled they had been detected.

Race Against Time

Tashigi drew her blade. "Let's make sure the World Government never gets to finish this nightmare."

Nami activated the ship's stealth systems remotely, preparing for a swift extraction.
