The scanner begins to overload, energy surging through it. Valentine screams as the temporal anomaly within him reacts, expanding outward.
It's happening! Get out of here!
Chen and the technician scramble to escape as the chamber fills with temporal energy. Valentine is thrown backward as the scanner explodes.

Suddenly, a figure materializes at the end of the corridor - Kane, but changed. His body is partially composed of temporal energy, and his eyes burn with power.
Well, well. Look what we have here. The Director herself.

Chen stares at Kane, her expression shifting from shock to determination.
Kane. I should have known.
You really thought you could destroy me? I am not just a man. I am time itself.
He raises a hand, and temporal energy surges toward Chen. She dives for cover as the energy blast destroys the wall behind her.
Security! Get him!

**INT. GENESIS LAB CORRIDOR - CONTINUOUS**
Chronos guards open fire on Kane, but their weapons have no effect. The energy blasts pass through him as if he's not entirely there.
Your primitive weapons cannot harm me. I exist between moments.
He gestures, and the guards are thrown backward, their bodies aging rapidly before reverting to their normal state.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a date with destiny. Or rather, my destiny has a date with me.
He disappears in a flash of temporal energy, reappearing at the end of the corridor.

Indeed, the walls around them begin to flicker between different time periods, and the air hums with temporal energy.

Not everything. The core crystal. It might still be intact.
He moves toward the center of the chamber, where the core crystal lies half-buried in rubble.
