Hearing the system's voice, Yato knew he couldn't linger here much longer.
He might as well deal with Obito and the system first, leaving Hiruzen and the others to their deliberations.
At least Danzo was already in prison—come sentencing time, death was inevitable.
Everyone had expected Yato to keep dragging out negotiations with Hiruzen.
Yet shockingly, Yato showed no greed this time, immediately backing down.
Eager to be rid of this troublemaker, the two advisors didn't dare say another word.
But their very attitude prompted Yato to mock them one last time before leaving.
The advisors flushed crimson with rage, yet remained speechless.
Hiruzen, having learned a thing or two, simply enjoyed the show without stirring the pot.
After all, they got to spout whatever nonsense they wanted while he did all the dirty work—not anymore.
...
Yato led the Anbu straight to the Root base.
This time, he intended only to observe from the sidelines.
A dog-eat-dog battle was always worth watching closely—no detail should be missed.
Yato even pulled out his camera to record the scene.
Playing battlefield reporter, he provided live commentary and broadcasts.
"Attention inside!" Yato announced. "You're surrounded."
"A wise man submits to circumstances. Surrender now, and the Third Hokage may yet spare you."
These outrageous declarations left both Root and Anbu shinobi utterly baffled.
The Root operatives inside thought Yato had lost his mind.
[Your brother's still in our hands, yet you dare provoke us openly? You've got some nerve.]
The Anbu outside were equally perplexed.
[We're just holding Shimura Danzo pending trial—the final outcome's still uncertain. How can you be this brazen?]There was no helping it. After all, Uchiha Yato was from the Uchiha Clan, so he naturally carried some pride in his demeanor.
At this moment, Shimura Danzo was the most bewildered one.
Seeing that the situation was taking an unfavorable turn, he called Aburame Ryoma over for questioning.
"Didn't you say you already informed him about his brother being kidnapped? Why is he still acting so arrogantly?"
It was no surprise that Danzo was confused. First, he had kidnapped the wrong person. Second, the current orders came from the Third Hokage himself.
Aburame Ryoma was also at a loss.
"I did deliver the message to him," Ryoma said.
"Could it be that he feels emboldened because he has the Third Hokage backing him?"
Hearing Ryoma's analysis, Shimura Danzo dismissed it with indifference.
Sarutobi Hiruzen and he were practically inseparable. Even if Uchiha Yato complained directly to the Hokage, it wouldn't make a difference.
One could say Danzo was being particularly naive at this moment. He still believed Orochimaru hadn't betrayed him and that Sarutobi Hiruzen and the two elders hadn't abandoned him.
Perhaps it was too early to say they had abandoned him, but there were definitely shifts in their attitudes.
Seeing that Root remained unresponsive, Uchiha Yato decided to escalate things further.
Before anyone could react, he instantly initiated an attack—zero frames of startup.
A massive meteor descended from the sky, crashing directly onto Root's front gate.
The impact instantly reduced the entire Root base to ashes.
What was once a concealed area disguised as barren land now needed no disguise—it was simply a wasteland.
Shimura Danzo could no longer hold back and stepped forward, ready to retaliate.
After all, he had hostages in his grasp. He wasn't afraid of Uchiha Yato harming him physically.
"Uchiha Yato, think carefully," Danzo said. "I have hostages in my hands."
"Push me too far, and neither of us will walk away unscathed."
"Besides, do you really think the Third Hokage would punish me?"
Uchiha Yato showed no reaction to these words.
But the Anbu ninja behind him began to waver.
Just as Shimura Danzo had said, Sarutobi Hiruzen still relied heavily on him.
Ignoring Danzo, Uchiha Yato turned to the Anbu behind him.
"Are you all taking his words to heart? Planning to stand against me?"
Their momentary hesitation gave Uchiha Yato the perfect opportunity to strike.
He was holding a recording device, capturing everything in real time.
His Three Tomoe spun, transforming into the Mangekyo.
Instantly, the flow of time around him was altered—everything slowed to a crawl.
With the system's return granting him unlimited reserves of chakra, he had no fear of exhausting his ocular power.
Next, he summoned his Susanoo.
The skeletal first form of the Susanoo erupted from the ground, its pale gray bones rapidly growing flesh and armor, completing its second form.
It would be a shame not to test his abilities while he had the chance.
This time, Uchiha Yato had another experiment in mind.
He slowly infused his Fire Release chakra into his Susanoo, gradually covering it in a blazing armor.
Thus, a limited-edition flame-clad Susanoo was born.
Then, like a rampaging mech, he unleashed a relentless assault—primarily targeting Root's members.Any Root member who got caught by him wouldn't even leave behind a speck of ashes.
Seeing this situation, Shimura Danzo immediately ordered his men to bring out the sack containing Uchiha Obito.
At this moment, he said, "Uchiha Yato. If you don't want anything to happen to your little brother, you'd better listen to me. If you dare act recklessly like this again, I'll start by cutting off one of his fingers."
Uchiha Yato responded, "Cut the crap. That's not even my brother. Your Root subordinates are such idiots—they messed up and didn't even tell you."
Uchiha Yato gave Danzo time to react, letting him carefully check whether he had captured the wrong person.
After a thorough comparison, Danzo's eyes instantly burned with fury.
Yes, he confirmed it—Root had captured the wrong person.
Uchiha Yato didn't give him time to vent his anger, fearing that a careless move might accidentally kill "our dear Obito."
That would be a tremendous loss for the Uchiha Clan. After finally pulling the kid back on the right track, such a low-level mistake couldn't be allowed.
Moving at a speed close to the Flying Thunder God but not quite reaching it, Yato charged forward and snatched Uchiha Obito from Danzo's grasp.
This left Danzo momentarily stunned. Now wasn't the time to wonder when Uchiha Yato had learned the Flying Thunder God.
Danzo immediately retaliated with his Wind Release Ninjutsu.
"Wind Release: Great Breakthrough!"
"Wind Release: Vacuum Great Sphere!"
Seeing Danzo's counterattack, Uchiha Yato's blood boiled with excitement.
"Fire Release: Wildfire of the Plains!"
"Fire Release: Well-Done Technique!"
It had to be said that Shimura Danzo still possessed Kage-level prowess at this point.
His Wind Release techniques were formidable, allowing him to hold his own against Uchiha Yato, who hadn't yet gotten serious.
Uchiha Yato was thoroughly enjoying himself, slashing away with his Susanoo.
Fired up from the battle, Yato decided to unleash a new Fire Release technique.
"Fire Release: Myriad Swords Returning to Origin!"
His Susanoo mirrored his hand seals, and soon, countless fiery sparks appeared around him.
These sparks transformed into sharp blades, hovering in the sky.
Every single sword was aimed at Shimura Danzo.
Danzo's heart pounded in fear as he considered using Water and Earth Release to defend himself.
But Uchiha Yato didn't give him the chance—he unleashed a storm of flaming swords.
Instantly, the area was baptized and scorched by another wave of flames...
