Creed's eyes shone as he looked at the tricolored treasure chest.
As expected of the chest obtained after unlocking the SSS-level extraction conditions—it could even grant abilities from other worlds.
Which world's ability would he get this time?
Creed was curious.
"Open the tricolor treasure chest!" Without hesitation, he commanded.
In an instant—
The chest burst open, releasing endless rays of dazzling red, yellow, and blue light, intertwining and shifting in strange patterns.
Brilliant and blinding.
Then the chest fully opened.
A system prompt echoed in his mind:
[Ding! Congratulations, Host has obtained: Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan!]
Creed's pupils contracted sharply. From the world of Naruto? Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan? He hadn't expected this at all!
The moment the voice faded—
A warm current surged into his body, like a mighty river flowing through his limbs and bones, before converging into a single stream that rushed into his eyes.
Suddenly—
His eyes felt as though they were burning in flames, the pain unbearable.
Fortunately, it didn't last long.
The burning was replaced by a piercing chill, so intense it felt as if he were eating mint candies in the dead of winter while drinking ice water.
The sensation was agonizing.
Soon after, the icy sting gave way to warmth, like basking in the gentle sunlight of early spring, enveloping him in comfort.
Half a minute later, the feeling subsided, and his vision cleared.
Creed slowly opened his eyes—now bearing a strange pattern: a windmill-shaped design spinning ominously within his pupils.
Picking up a mirror, he stared at his reflection, breath catching at the sight of his new eyes.
He steadied himself, suppressing the excitement welling inside. It truly was the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan—meaning he could use eye techniques without fearing blindness.
Even better, the system had adapted the ability to use his spiritual energy, not chakra.
That was a relief. Otherwise, without chakra, he could only stare helplessly at his new gift.
The only drawback was that this meant another heavy drain on his mental energy. The Ope Ope no Mi already consumed both stamina and spirit, and now these eyes would do the same.
Still—Creed couldn't help but smile.
This trip had been beyond worthwhile. His harvests were immense.
As expected—only battle could bring such riches!
Now, it was time to return to Marineford. The moment he had been waiting for was close at hand: extracting an SSS-level ability.
When that happened, he would step into the ranks of the world's absolute strongest.
But for now—he still had the Purple Ability Enhancement Card.
Which ability to enhance was obvious. His strongest path had always been swordsmanship, and it was the path he intended to pursue to the end.
"Use the Purple Ability Enhancement Card—on Swordsmanship!"
At once—
A warm stream surged into his mind, filling him with countless insights and techniques of swordsmanship.
He sat cross-legged, eyes closed, like a monk in meditation. Around him, within a one-meter radius, a razor-sharp aura radiated outward, distorting the air.
A mosquito flew into the aura—
Shiiing!
It instantly burst into blood mist, shredded by the invisible blades of sword intent.
Creed remained unmoving, immersed in his epiphany.
Time passed quietly.
By dawn, the first light of morning broke through the window, falling across his body.
Creed opened his eyes. For a moment, his gaze was like the edge of a peerless blade, sharp enough to cut through anything in sight.
He exhaled a long breath, smiling faintly. His swordsmanship had reached SSS-level.
He had officially stepped into the ranks of the great swordmasters.
Though his control was still somewhat raw, time and training would hone it.
Standing, he glanced out the window. The sky was bright.
It was time to leave.
"Let's go."
He looked at Falkor, who had collapsed onto the bed the moment they returned and was still fast asleep.
The little dragon yawned, cracked one eye open lazily, then flapped its wings and settled onto Creed's shoulder, continuing its nap.
Soon, Creed and Ain headed into town, looking for a ship sturdy enough for long voyages—or perhaps the luck of stumbling upon a pirate ship to seize.
But when they reached the harbor—
They found the townspeople already gathered, staring at a massive warship docking at the port.
Its sheer size made the sea level rise, waves spilling onto the shore.
"Marine?" Ain muttered. It wasn't just any ship—it was one of the high-command warships.
Creed's eyes narrowed. "Oh? Then I won't need to buy one."
The warship docked, its colossal frame looming over the harbor.
From it marched rows of Marines in justice cloaks.
At their head was a tall man in a cap adorned with the Marine emblem—
Creed's brows twitched.
Admiral Akainu.
He stiffened slightly. Why was an admiral here?
Creed's eyes narrowed, focusing on Akainu's imposing figure and the pressure radiating faintly from him.
This didn't look friendly.
