I stared at her in silence for a few seconds, trying to understand exactly what it was she was pointing out when she made that exclamation, but then I could not help but chuckle.
"And why do you make it sound as if it's something impossible for me to trust someone?" I asked, staring at her.
"It is not like it's a big deal, but you just strike me as someone who does not seem to trust anyone around them," she said to me, saying it with all seriousness. That made me even more curious as I looked down the stairs and then moved my gaze to her again slowly.
"I do not have the intention of keeping Alex waiting, but I need to understand something: what have I done to give you that impression?" I asked her again because a part of me was genuinely curious to know why she thinks I did not trust anyone.
